Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : james croucher - york, emily, jimmy, petra (44,42,19,17) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We found the Damon apartments to be very small, and surprisingly the rooms were very large, which we were disappointed with. the rooms only had two double beds, which was only not a problem as our children are still quite young, but could be problematic for some families. The staff in the complex were lovely, just lovely, and even though the waiters and receptionists were rude, the place as a whole was quite unfriendly. the food in the apartments food store was cold, although we solved this problem via our cooker in the room. The pool area had far too many sunbeds, and at only 2.8 metres the pool was far too shallow. The free sunlotion that we were given on arrival by the rep did not work at all, and consequently my daughter got quite badly sunburnt, although the upside to this was that her redness did provide amusement for the rest of us. Ayia Napa was generally too quiet for our family, which was good as we look for peace and quiet when we travel. The bars were quite expensive, although we generally got many free drinks as the waiters took a shine to the females in our family. The beach did not have enough jellyfish to what we were used to, as on previous holidays to crete we have had alot of fun jellyfish fishing which has become a croucher family tradition. We particularly would recommend the glass bottom boat trip from the harbour, although the safety conscious of you may not be interested as the bottom of the boat is not metal, but in fact glass, which simply cannot be safe, (being a big boned man i certainly would not stand on it). We went on the tour operater trip to Toad Mountain, and although this was expensive, proved to be an excellent day out. The only complaint of the trip would be the lack of toads that we actually saw, but the few that we did were simply magnificent. Eating out in Ayia Napa was quite an enjoyable experience, our favourite restarant was papa's bar and grill, (it looked great from the outside, although we never actually dined there, and just about every night we ate our own cooked food in our room, my wife is quite a poor cook, so we were ill most of the time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Damon Apartments - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in July 2004 by : J Adam - Scotland (31,34,67,70) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We were very relieved to arrive at the damon apartments, as our booked apartments were pretty nasty. The Damon was just what we needed. Located centrally between the harbour and the old town (about 15/20 minute walk to each). The apartments were clean and the staff made us very welcome. The prices were also very reasonable, they can be found online for bookings. The weather was fine while we were there. In the 30's with an ever present breeze, which helped. The beaches are all stoney, so I advise flip-flops and swimming in your apartment pool. You can take a local bus for 50 cents out to Coral Bay for a better beach experience. We found some really great restaurants while we were there. There is a wonderful Indian restaurant behind the Damon Apartments called Prema. The family are from Manchester and the food is gorgeous. They sent us away with an email address to mail them and some spices and a vegetarian recipe to try. Turn left out of the apartments and you hit Tomb of the Kings Road. Straight ahead is a great Italian Restaurant called Mama Mia's,a beautifully set table, linen napkins and the the shinniest cutlery you have ever seen. Friendly staff and a very extensive menu will have you returning frequently. Something a bit special. To your left is Casa Mexicana. If you love Mexican it is not to be missed. You will be made very welcome here too. Try the lemon cream. Heavenly! The one trip you should not miss is Nic's Village Tour. A small group is taken through the villages around paphos. You start by visiting a cyprus delight factory. You meet the craft workers in their homes, making bamboo baskets and weaving. Relax with a drink in a local taverna, visit old churches, a monastery with a very eccentric monk and listen to many amusing tales along the way about the people, history and surroundings, courtesy of Hilary, an English tour guide who is married to Nic. The trip ends with a home cooked lunch with free flowing local wine, curtesy of the Sioukras Family. A truly delicious way to end the perfect day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cooke July 23 - 6 Aug Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Jan Batchelor Basildon Essex 3 adults 66,57,40,34 - 2 children 2.5 & 12 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We have been (hubby & me) to The Dome Hotel quite a few times. This year we took our family with us as we knew the new lagoon pool had been installed & finished - which was absolutely gorgeous - the kids & us loved it. The food & service was fantastic as it always is. The staff will wait on you hand and foot, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms & sheets were cleaned every day - Towels for the pool were lovely & fresh. Everyday we went to the bay as we call it (right turn as you head for the beach) every morning to feed the fish also we returned in the evening just to let the kids play.(paradise). We hired push bikes for 3 days & rode to The Nissi Beach & walked out to the island (brilliant) Every evening they had a kids disco which our grandaughter aged 2 & half loved. We all done the club dance at the end. Overall we all had a great time & I would recommend the Dome to all families. All inclusive (we hardly spent a penny). I have a couple of comments:- As The Dome is in the T.Cooke brochure now I think the management of the Hotel have been suprised by the amount of children staying - we did notice before we left kids had scratched their names in the lift also in the ceiling of one of the floors - I feel the management have to try & keep the kids under control a bit more. I hope it will always stay a 4 star - but they will have to make a few rules. Thomas Cooke flights - we had no leg room at all, our knees were pushed into each others backs - everybody was complaining. 4 & half hours sitting like that was awful. I will never fly with Thomas Cooke again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - June 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Jo, Mark ,8yr Daughter & 5yr Son Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Two fantastic weeks at Dome Hotel !! We would really struggle to find a negative about this hotel. Our kids were so content with the new fun pool, kids club and evening entertainment that we hardly saw them. Our large family room (bungalow) was located by the fun pool and was well furnished and very clean. Restaurant and food fab and kids menu available if desired. Staff all extremely friendly. We have very high standards and having experienced a supposidly 4 star all inclusive in cyprus last year. This hotel is what we expect to get for our money. This is definately a hotel to recommend and we will be going back. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did !! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - May 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : Sally - Sutton Coldfield (57,41,36,31,29,04,04,02) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: This was our first visit to this side of Cyprus and we were certainly not dissappointed. We arrived on time at Larnaca airport and had to wait about 30 mins for our bags (much better than Paphos airport) Transfer took 40 mins and we were the second drop off. First impressions of the hotel were impressive, little bit out on its own but very friendly staff and very clean. We paid extra for a pool view room which was worth it as a lot of the rooms overlooked the car park. Rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday. The swimming pools were fantastic. One pool suitable for adults who enjoy a swim and a family pool, new for this year with slides and jacuzis - our kids loved it. Breakfast and lunch were very good and the poolside snack bar. Evening meal was o.k but got a bit repetitive after the first week. Entertainment staff are all lovely and worked so hard, Steph, Thomas, Neo and Matt were fab with everyone. Bus service is great (8 min walk from hotel), 80cy pence to Ayia Napa and Protarus. Ayia Napa takes 10 mins or 5 in a taxi (6 cy pounds) and about 30 mins to Protarus (12 cy ponds in a taxi), Great boat trips availble from Ayia Napa harbour, very cheap and great for the kids - yellow submarine is great - the owner is gorgeous so the views are great too!! Would definetly stay here again and would reccommend it to all age groups --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook April/May 2006 Opinion submitted in May 2006 by : Gail Bundy - Barrow in Furness (35, 35, 11months) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We went to the Dome in Nissi Bay at the end of April 2006. It was our first family holiday with our 11 month daughter and we booked fully inclusive. The road going up to the hotel is not the best start but once you reach the hotel it is very different. The hotel has been renovated 2 years ago and it is immaculate. It is literally on the beach and the pool areas are very nicely furnished. Our room was cleaned daily and the maid even left us fresh flowers every day, the toilets in the swimming areas were constantly cleaned and also smelt nice(not what i'm used to abroad). The entertainment in the hotel is great fun and during the day,if you choose you can join in with activities such as shuffleboard, darts, pool, water polo,volleyball.... all ages and nationalities are welcome. At nightime all the fun happens in the main bar area. There is a childrens hour earlier and then later on there is entertainment most nights from the TMC team, headed by Matt.We found all the evening entertainment great fun and all the reps got involved Steph,Abbie,Teresa,Thomas, Neo & Jana. The fully inclusive package was well worth while if you are going to spend most of your time in the hotel. I am veggie but once I had been introduced to one of the waiters, Nicos, I was given choice of a Veggie meal every night. All of the staff are great and very helpful. I would recommend this excellent hotel to friends and family and we will definately visit again in the future. If I do have to mention any negatives they are the lack of bottled water in the fully inclusive package. You do get bottles with your meals but other than that you do need to pay for it, it does seem a little petty and something they could resolve quite easily. Also, we had asked for a ground floor room but was given a 2nd floor room with a glorious view. We did have to pay £76 cyp to be moved to bungalow by the pool but it was worth every penny as the room was bigger and next to the childrens pool. We also had to pay to get a late check out room but we expected that. The only issue there was they would not agree it until the final day, which is not much good when you have a young baby. Everything was sorted once it was explained and I guess thats when you know you have had a good holiday i.e if you have a problem it is sorted to your satisfaction. Anyway, it is a fab hotel with gorgeous views the rooms and swimming areas are clean with plenty of sunbeds and the entertainment is top class and good fun. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook july 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Eddie 40 Dianne 53 heywood lancs Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: The dome hotel is superb the food is good the staff are friendly the rooms are kept immaculate, there is plenty of things to do for adults and kids both in and out of the hotel i would recommend this hotel to anyone.Every thing is brand new it has just had a 3 million pound facelift. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: Thomas Cook - June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Kerry, Richard, Staisha (31,34,8) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: just returned from 2 weeks at the dome. had the best holiday ever and we were all sad to leave. we had a room in the main hotel and it was plenty big enough for 3 of us as we only slept and changed in there. plenty of storage space however balcony was on the small side but didnt use it anyway except to store inflatables. the maids did a great job and the room was kept spotless. pool towels were great so save luggage space for something else. on our 2nd day we asked for clean beach towels and they were left in our room without having to hand the dirty ones in so. this was useful as it meant we could leave a dirty towel in the room and still take one to pool. pools were both great and manned by a lifeguard at all times which was reassuring. however they only told us on last day that no inflatables were allowed after all the kids had played with them for 2 weeks. food was good and although limted for choice at times we were never hungry. international night was the best as lots of chinese food. yum yum. we had made lots of plans for places we wanted to visit but never got far as we had such a great time in hotel. we did visit nissi beach- about 15-20 minutes walk from hotel. very nice but very crowded and hotel beach is just as nice. went to water wark-our 2nd time to this water park and was just as good as first time. booked with scott rep as same as gate price except you get into park quicker. got a cab there only 5 cyp £. can take pack ups from hotel but they will take them off you inside the park and give you a raffle ticket to collect when required from customer services. still worth having thou as the packed lunches are very nice. if you are planning any nights out be sure to go on a friday as the entertainment is greek or cypriot night. with local performers.. very boring. aside from that thou all other entertainment was fab and they really made our holiday. they were so friendly and energetic and went out their way to ensure that you had a good time. we miss them all dreadfully and cant wait to see them again-hopefully soon. the kids club reps were also very good and welcoming although my daughter didnt go to kids club due to having too much fun in pool. however having experienced some poor kids clubs these were definately the best i have experienced. overall the best hotel, entertainment team, kids club and holiday we have had and will definately return. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: Thomas cook June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: The hotel was lovely and clean. You could not fault it in that way. The gardens were kept lovely and clean.Three beaches to choose from. Staff were very nice. Therewere three faults, one was we were not inpressed with the food, and we found the hotel was to far out from Ayia Napa.We had to walk ten minutes to the main road from the hotel to get a bus. The last moan when we booked a trip with the rep.No coaches come to pick you up outside the hotel, you have to either walk to main road or get a taxi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: thomas cooke - June 2007 Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : sally kirk Redditch (42,42,14,10) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Have just come back from the Dome Beach hotel, we had a fantastic time. We had a family room which was on the ground floor, very clean, patio doors opening out on to family pool. Food was great, went all inclusive, great choice of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.Drink as much as you want, soft drinks, cocktails, beer, etc. Have definetly put on weight! Entertainment during day was very good, always something going on, but not pushy if all you wanted to do was chill. Evening entertainment was also very good, had a real laugh, Mark is a very talented guy with a wicked voice, should be in the west end! Kids loved him, never seen anyone with so much energy made me feel old! Staff were always pleasant and worked very hard, waiters were always quick to serve drinks and remove dirty plates etc. Beaches were lovely, one with very soft sand and turquoise seas, the other not so soft but less busy. Loads of sunbeds never a problem getting one. Just wish i could have stayed for ever, didn't want to come home to the grey skies and rain. Brill place would recommend to anyone, well worth the money, fantastic holiday and i have got to go back!!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: thomas cook-may 2007 Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : tony donna libby faye--- 41 ouch, 39, 11, 8 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: excellent holiday, food fantasic, pools areas fantastic .room fantastic .definately a 4* , if you've booked you wont be disappointed. kids club , well they enjoyed it and if there happy ,were happy. right on the beach, you cant go wrong , really friendly place. definately go back next year. only left the hotel once , yes once ,got a cab to ayia napa, for 5 £cyp for a couple of hours . didnt hardly spend a penny. good value all round, GO BOOK IT --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : Chris (40, 36 & 7) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We went to the Dome (2 weeks AI) after reading good reviews everywhere. The hotel is somewhat remote with only a couple of restaurants/supermarkets at the end access road (5/10 minute walk). The hotel is right on the beach which is fantastic! The kids pool is superb although I'd imagine sunbeds could be a problem in July/August. The breakfasts and lunches are pretty much standard stuff. Annoyingly though there was never any cold meats on at a lunch nor cheeses other than feta. It made for very boring salads. The evening meals were somewhat disappointing. There's not a lot of choice for an AI holiday and the area the food is presented is quite small (hence the reduced choice). Often we could only find 1 meal we could eat. There is a kids selction (burgers, fried eggs, chips etc) if your kids are fussy eaters. The quality of the food is excellent but just not a lot of choice. Also, many things were often empty. One container serving 100s wouyld soon empty and there never seemed to be anyone keeping on top of refilling things. Trying to get cheese and biscuits was always 'challenging' as there was always at least 1 cheese that had run out. The chef specials (roast beef etc) were the same. The chef would carve some meat then leave to do something else. In no time the cut meat was gone and a queue formed while peopel waited for him ot come back. Very frustrating! The house wines are ropey as well so don't expect anything nice unless you pay for it. Snacks during the day are readily available (pizza, chips etc) but ice creams are only available for 2 x 1 hour a day (strictly enforced as well). There was never a problem getting served at the bar during the day but night times could get a bit busy. The waitress service was often 20 minutes+ so it was quicker getting them yourself although they didn't like you hanging around the bar. One niggle is they won't serve AI guests beer in anything other than 250ml glasses (often not full). This meant you were constantly having to order drinks or get 2 or 3 in at a time. The absence of bottled water is a pain too. It's only served in the little 250ml glasses from the bar. Surely it wouldn't be too expensive to provide 500ml bottles??? The pool area and toilets were very clean although we spent our time around the kids pool rather than the larger one. The night time entertainment was, mmmmm, OK. 8 til 9 is mini-disco followed by bingo, prize presentations and some audience participation game for 15 minutes. The 'show' then started at 10:15/10:30 which was quite late really if you had kids. Most shows were done by the entertainment team who try there very best - Mark in particular is the one who keeps it all together. There were a couple of Cyprus Nights where dancers were brought in however the entertainment they provided was more about how dodgy they were! One final thing is the Kids Club is superb! Teish, Mel and Susie are some of the best Kids Club staff we've come across. All in all, we really enjoyed our holiday. The food and entertainment could have been better but at the end of the day, we still enjoyed it. Would I go back to that hotel? Probably not. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook April 2007 Opinion submitted in May 2007 by : Chrissi 53 & Dave 56 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Very impressive hotel, lovely large terrace room in a beautiful garden overlooking one of the 2 pools. The hotel staff were all very polite and helpful, the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The food was quite good but repetitive the deserts seemed to be much the same every day, lunch and evening fairly similar as was the salad/cold selection. Breakfast provided the usual cooked English along with a good choice of cereal, fruit yoghurt, nuts, dried fruit, salad, cold meat, cheese, breads marmalade, jams. We thought that the lunchtime meal offered more choice than the evening meal. As we were on the All Inclusive option we had a choice of Snacks between meals which consisted of pizza, pasta, burgers, chips, salad etc; cakes were available in the afternoon. The A.I. drink selection was good with cocktails incuded, although sometimes they were a little weak, the beer and wine included was good. The only complaintwe would make is that we were made to eat breakfast and lunch outside we did not have the option of eating in, the sparrows were a nuisance flying onto the tables and chairs to get food be warned do not leave your table unattended with food on you want to eat to fetch something else as by the time you get back the birds will hve had some of it we saw them eat one womans bread she didnt know they had been at it and came back and ate what they hadn't Yuk ! The hotel was in an excellent beach location with beautiful fine white sand beaches and clear blue sea which sloped very gently and is ideal for children. Watersports available on both beaches. The two hotel pools are lovely although they felt a little cold when going in. One pool has water slides ,inflatables are not alloewd in the pools. The hotel has a gym and jacuzzi which is free to A.I. guests. The Thomas Cook entertainment team led by Mark worked really hard and put on excellent entertainment they were extremely friendly and polite but funny at the same time, keep up the good work ! Our rep Scott has to be the best rep we have ever come across (we have had many over the years) he was very helpful to the extreme and went to great lengths to get information of somewhere we wanted to visit, Gold Star Scott !! The hotel was quite near to a huge Water Park which we did not visit but it looked impressive. It was a very long walk from the hotel to the Nissi Beach, Aya Napa shops restaurants and harbour but it is well worth a visit. It is £3cyp each way in a taxi although friends told us they paid £3cyp going and £5cyp coming back !! We did have a hire car and it was well worth it as we visited Protarus,Fig Tree Bay, Paphos etc but we were at what we considered to be the best place on the island. Drivers beware the motorways do not have speed cameras but we saw at least 5 police cars when we went to Paphos parked on the hard shoulder in each case the policeman was crouched at the passenger side door with a hand held speed camera !! Would we go back to this resort and hotel ? Definitely in fact we wish we were there now !! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - April 2007 Opinion submitted in April 2007 by : Julie & Richard + Grandparents Newcastle Upon Tyne (46,11,70's) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Opinion: Excellent holiday, great entertainment staff & plenty for an active 11 yr old to do all day. On arriving beatiful entrance to the hotel and the reception was very friendly. Alocated a perfect ground floor bungalow, ideal for my mother who has walking difficulties. Room had views too pool and beach and a back garden which can be used as a shortcut to the pool. The pool was freezing cold, but we did go in the first week of April. The pool area was spotless and lifeguards in attendence at both pools at all times. The entertaiment team were very friendly and gave a brillaint show at night (the shows themselves were very short compared to other holidays). The kids club for the younger children was open however the older version for teenagers was not open, and we were told it wouldnt be open untill May which was very disapointing especially for my 12 year old son. My mum was presented with a bottle of Sparkling Wine on her birthday, thank you Thomas Cook. We all had a great time, would definatly go back-but in peak season. The town itself (Ayia Nappa) is a dump. If you choose this hotel you will not be disapointed. The Staff couldn't be friendly enough and try to cater for everyone. It's situated just outside the centre of Ayia Napa, so if you want to go into town to go out or just a bit of shopping, it'll only cost £5CYP. The shops aren't the best though. There's something for everyone to do of all ages. With the 2 pools you have peace and quiet if you want it and if you want to join in a game of Volleyball or shuffleboard with the entertainments team they're there. They're not too pushy so it was nice just to be left if you didn't want to join in. The entertainments team were EXCELLENT!!! Theresa, Jenny, Abbe and Steph really put a lot of effort into the daytime and evening events. What a voice Steph has, and Theresa's a really good dancer. The food is really good, with a variety to cater for everyone. Just watch out for Andreas, if you move the tables around there will be trouble. The hotel and staff were superb and the setting out of this world, with two excellent beaches on the doorstep. It was only a short trip to Ayia Napa in a taxi (they seem to cost £4CYP wherever you go), but we didn't do that very often as Ayia Napa itself is a dump - empty during the day and full of young louts throwing up at night - definitely not our scene so we spent most of our time at the hotel. There was plenty to do during the day with all the activities run by the Thomas Cook Entertainers and TMC - those guys have loads of energy. But we have to give a special mention to little Jenny, whose smile lit up the place wherever she was! The kids loved her and she had so much time for them even though she wasn't a kiddies rep. Our 7 year old son still has a crush on her! And in the shows at night she was a real trooper, despite her oversize costumes nearly tripping her up! Go Jen! We had a family room on the 2nd floor which was huge and immaculate as it was cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels (including beach towels so you don't need to take your own) Meals were varied and there was plenty of choice. Most evenings were themed for eg; italian night, cypriot night.BBQ night was our favourite. There are 2 large pools one of which has 2 slides and at the side a small paddling pool with a fountain. The kids club is situated at the side (which is air conditioned) and also a bar. A 5 minute stroll down to the beach is worthwhile as the water is crystal clear,it can get busy at weekends though. The entertainment team were fantastic (hi Steph,Abbie,Teresa) They could all sing and dance and put on some brill shows. A trip into Ayia Napa is great,6 cyp pounds by taxi,There are plenty of bars and shops and also a fair, trampolines and crazy golf (oh and a Mcdonalds!!)The harbour is a 10 minute walk from the centre and is relly pretty with plenty of fish restaurants. We visited a couple of times before 11pm and i can honestly say we didn't see 1 lager lout!!!(maybe they come out after midnight) Protarus was another place we visited which i found quite loud at night but to be fair we did go at the weekend.A MUST is the Dancing Water show.My kids absolutely loved it.It was 19 cyp pounds for a family of 4 and was worth every penny. The fountains were lit up by multicoloured lights and danced to really loud music which added to the atmosphere. There was also a laser show and for the finale.......... Can't tell you, you'll just have to go!! So if you want a brilliant holiday with plenty of Sun,Sea and.....Smiles then go to the Dome. You won't be disappointed. Unfortunately we were delayed by 4 hours on our way out and arrived after midnight at the hotel however we were checked in promptly and the bar was held open for us for a drink, our rooms had been upgraded as requested (this can be requested 2 days before arrival) so we were given bungalows by the main pool, we did not see the view until the following day and boy! we were not disappointed, the Dome sits on it's own private beaches which are beautiful, they have watersports to suit all tastes, our 5 year old girl loved the Jet Skis! The Hotel itself has just been given a facelift and also had a fantastic new pool area with new bar and kids club, the new pool was superb and we had to fight to get the kids out of the pool, our little boy (19 months) was able to toddle out safely and he really enjoyed himself. The two older kids loved the Kids Club requesting to go back twice daily, the new bar area is really clean and fully stocked and staffed, the toilets and changing areas are spotless and cleaned regularly, the pool area is also clean and looks amazing with huge palm trees and lovely plants and shrubs giving it a really exotic feel. Our room was big enough for four with a double bed, mini bar, TV, large bathroom, bed for our 5 yr old and a cot for the toddler, sofa, safe and small balcony, the room was religiously cleaned every day with fresh bedding, clean bath towels and new beach/pool towels (you do not need to take towels so save the space for more needed items)all of the rooms seemed to be close to all amenities. The main Pool is also fantatsic as it overlooks the beach and onto the sea. The food was of a varied choice and of a high standard, we had no vegetarians with us but there always seemed to be a fair amount of choice for them, there was also never really enough time to get hungry before your next meal, with snacks and ice creams available throughout the day, drinks with meals were always delivered and the rose was not bad, I would however steer clear of the red and white, mind you the all inclusive choice of drinks was enough to keep you going. The staff were always helpful sometimes overly (this is not a criticism) the whole place was always spotless. Evening entertainment was great for the kids and they kept them dancing and singing for an hour at the disco, the proper shows were off varying standard although, Matt, Abbey, Stef and Theresa were always great. I myself had several attempts at archery with Neo, Tomas and Carlos from the entertainment staff and have now decided to take it up. I have read one review about the availability of water but have to dispute this as there was fresh water left in your room every day and if you wanted more water all you had to do was order more with your meals and take it back to your room. We did eat out once or twice, the first time was disastrous, I cannot remember the name of the restaurant but it was at the end of the road leading away from the Dome, we didn't even get our starter so decided to leave and walk back to the hotel before the kitchens closed, we made it with 10 mins to spare and again the staff could not do enough and we had another great meal. The second time we found a little gem in Ayia Napa, up the hill and about 100 yards on from the Jasmin Pub called Ambeli (cypriot for vineyard) the food was beautiful and the staff were great we had starters, main courses, drink and deserts for 7 and it came to £75(UK). All in all this was a fantastic holiday at the Dome we had enough time to relax, eat and drink making 2 weeks feel like 4 it was only marred by a flight delay both ends but you can't have everything can you! I recommend you visit the Dome Beach Hotel - you will not be disappointed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - April 2006 Opinion submitted in May 2006 by : Linda Wheelwright - Halifax (60, 33, 5) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We recently visited the Dome Beach Hotel and can honestly say this accommodation is definitely 4 star, if not 5 star. The food was excellent with loads of choice, fresh carved meat most nights, also lots of other choices at each sitting. There is also a separate childrens menu which they make to order with loads of choices. The bar drinks are also of excellent quality, with an extensive cocktail list, also childrens cocktails. We were all inclusive and bar prices were quite expensive if you're not all inclusive. The hotel has its own kids club which is open every day from 10am to 5pm - our 5 year old loved it! We booked through Thomas Cook direct online and paid on average £200 less for our holiday than other people staying at the same time. We also received a massive room, much bigger than standard rooms, which was immaculately furnished. We cannot fault our stay at this hotel and have just booked to return next year! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: Cyplon Holidays - 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Harvey Family Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We booked direct flights with Cyprus Airways and accommodation only with the operator. We decided not to go all inclusive this year to see if it would be cheaper for us (and it was!). We arrived on Saturday evening and despite asking for inter-connecting rooms when booking in September last year (our 15yr old daughter had her own room), we were not given them. Our daughter was 6 doors away (not far, but far enough for us to have less control over what she got up to and how many friends were in her room with her!). The receptionist said it was not possible to change rooms, so we had the extra worry for the duration of the holiday. We did not find the drinks too expensive, and only ate breakfast at the hotel, preferring to sample the local restaurants, which were all very good and provided excellent service and hospitality. Good points were fresh pool/beach towels every day (but only one each, so hold onto a couple so that they cover the entire sunbed), exceptional cleaning standards, great swimming pools and good facilities. There is a CYP1 charge a day per sunbed on the beach, but this keep the locals out, so is a good thing. There is a very good watersports company on the beach offering all the usual - jet skis, banana boat etc. Bad points were the very slow service from the bar staff (and lack of them). We waited 30 minutes one night for a waitress to come to our table, and the bar staff preferred you not to clutter up the bar, but in the end it was the only way to make sure you received drinks quickly. The beach is very clean but the sea has lots of seaweed and rocks in it. The entertainment is of quite a poor standard, and can only be endured in short bursts. Overall this is a very nice hotel, but we would not return again due to the poor service in the bars. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: findrooms.com - 2005 Opinion submitted in Apr 2006 by : Natalie, Steve and girls - 40's, 14, 12 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: The Dome hotel was great, and we went AI. The hotel has a kid's pool with 2 slides, and a huge pool as well. 2 beaches so you could avoid the breeze by switching beaches. One had beautiful soft sand, shelving gently into clear water without stones or weed. And the beach bars from the hotel were so close you could get refreshment easily. The food was good there too. Lots of choice. Wine poor. Cocktails ridiculous. You wonder why? My 1st pina colada was made up of cream sherry since the bar girl thought that was what was meant by cream. The real Dome recipe includes the aerosol cream foam, like shaving foam. No sign of coconut cream. I tried one other cocktail, the Dome Special. And left that one too. The large, new, family room led straight onto grass then the kids' pool. After that was the bar - handy for taking drinks to the room - then the beach. All really convenient. One downside was the tiled floors and little sound proofing. 2 disturbed nights out of 3 isn't good. The evening entertainment was no good for adults but good for the girls. Matt was excellent at motivating people. The 'More tea vicar' competition was won by my daughter who had to retain an intact tea-dunked biscuit for longest. There were lots of activities that looked fun. We hired bikes from opposite here - v old ones! - and cycled along a bone shaking seaside path into quiet Ayia Napa town. The harbour is v small but in use and fish were being sold from the quayside. Nothing else of note! Too early in the season. We would go back to this hotel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Libra Discounts) Libra - 2004 Opinion submitted in Sept 2004 by : Colin Hepburn-Dorset (56/57) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Opinion: I am a regular visitor to Cyprus and the Dome Beach Hotel Having been there about 20 times.. It was completely refurbished during the winter/spring 2003/2004. Having a total of £5 miliion spent on refurbishment. It is now absolutely fabulous. The rooms are quite excellent everything has been renewed from the furniture, bathrooms, decor, even the TVs and fridges. It has 4 star status but the rooms are 5 star plus. The staff are the friendliest I have met anywhere in the world and what is nice is that the staff remain the same every year, it is like being part of a family. The beach is right next to the pool area The beaches are excellent, cleaned every day and the sea is crystal clear. Ayia Napa centre is 3Km away a 40 minute walk. The hotel is in a prime location and it is quiet and peaceful. Food is varied and excellent and there are numerous tavernas within walking distance. We always go to the Meze House just past the Olympic Hotel on the left hand side towards Ayia Napa run by Savaas and Janet good Cypriot food at a reasonable price with excellent friendly service. I have nothing but praise for the Dome Beach Hotel and its wonderful staff it is a perfect hotel in perfect setting. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Efi Apartments - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Going Places Direct) Going Places - May/June 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : Glasgow - 21,21,19 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We stayed in Efi Apartments from 31st May - 7th June 2006, we arrived at the beginning of the season and at this time the hotel was quite quiet but the people that we met were very friendly. Hotel is pretty basic but we paid £226 which to us didnt seem too expensive, the apartments were not bad either, beds were comfortable and maids cleaned the rooms every day. Shower was warm although majority of time we wanted a cool shower as the weather was scorching, didnt expect it to be as warm. Hotel staff were friendly and was staff on duty all night, had left our window open one night and found a cockroach when we came in, was our own fault. The guy on in the hotel was helpful as being 3 girls we were petrefied of the thing ecspecially myself, he was more than happy to help and left us with insect spray. Was about 5-10 minute walk from main square, taxi's are widely available but charge a minimum of 4 cypriot pounds averaging over fiver no matter on the distance. As we were self catering we ate out, plenty of variety. Would recommend the mexican next to the square and the japenese is fantastic cooked infront of you. Had a great time, and would go back, you get what you pay for with the apartments and with us looking really just for a place to stay then it suited us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Efi Apartments - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - July 2004 Opinion submitted in Sept 2004 by : Anna - Sunderland (18 x 11) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Due to very few reviews on the Efi I was very unsure what to expect and tried to brace myself for the worst. However the apartments were not too bad but very basic, white bare walls and 70's furniture, appliances in good working order - bar the freezer which grew a huge boil of ice so had to be defrosted by our cleaner. Cleaner visited every other day and did not mind if she had to clean up around you however unsure how often sheets were cleaned as we were usually in bed when she came and do not think the floors were swept throughout the 2week visit. On the plus side only 3 cockroaches were spotted by our group in our rooms which were soon extinguished by helpful people on our floor who came with lighters and deodorant. If your taking plug-in creepy crawly repellant remember these apartments use english three pin plugs. Staff were friendly and it was ideal that the apartments bar was 24hrs so when you came in at 3am in the morning you could continue drinking in a bar just below your room and maybe even watch the sun come up. With it being a 18 to 30 holiday you knew everyone around the pool and the apartments had a good atmosphere. Although the apartments have their own pool dont expect an olympic size it was more like a deep paddling pool. Although limited in numbers you did not need to worry about getting a sunbed because not many people surfaced until late afternoon. Resort was very lively, with lovely beaches (Nissi beach is well worth a visit along with the nearby water park). Best nightclub - Castle Club with 4 different floors for different music tastes, best restaurant - Jasmins especially for day time snacks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eleana Apartments - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Sunset 28June - 07July Opinion submitted in July 2005 by : Natalie Smith - Hull (22,21,20x4,18) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We wer a group of7girls & it was our first time stayin in Ayia Napa&we loved it.The eleana is a great place2stay.The pool was nice&clean and the staff wer v friendly. We got on great with Christina the lady who runs the place and we all loved Marios the night boy who stops u from jumping in the pool wen u cum in from a nite out in the early hours. we did find the rooms wernt cleaned as much as wed of liked. The second room was just a bedroom with 2 single beds and a good sized wardrobe. Both rooms lead onto the balcony which has the view of the pool. The bathroom was ok with a shower of reasonable power, cupboards for towels etc and bins for sh1tty tissues (cant be flushed!- even though we did) All the staff were really friedly, the rooms were cleaned about every 2 days by 2 nice ladies who didnt speak a word of english but we just let them get on with it, sometimes they even cleaned are dirty super noodled pans! The pool was cleaned every moring at about 7 and the general area was always clean. The two girls at the restaurant (mum and daughter we think)were great and the food was the b*ll*cks. At night there was always a bloke in the reception (usually asleep) if u forget ur key or need him in an emergency. The best thing about Eleana was that the pool was open 24 hours a day, except when being cleaned. Other mates who went almost got arrested for harmless drunken sillyness in the pool after the clubs, unlike eleanor where u can get away with anything. Because of this we always seemed to have no problem getting girls back to the apartments to go swimming! There are shops left, right and centre from the apartments which was always handy, the local beach was about a 5 minute walk as was going to the square. To get to the famouse nissi beach u need to take a cab cos its about a 15 minute drive down the coast but DEFINATLY worth going. Its got white sand, crystal blue water and ebough topless thonged beauties to keep u happy all day! Its the best place for the watersports and the bungee was there too. There are DJ's on the beach all day playing cool tunes and we even met skibba! Our rep Carly was wicked, she knew exatcly what we wanted and sorted us out. She offered us excursions like bar crawls and foam parties for an up front price and they are all well worth it. She was only around at certain times but when she was she'd drink and eat with us like any other mate. The square is legendary! There are bars, clubs and girls everywhere. If u go with a group like us of 7 then the pr's give u loads of free drinks just to go into there place. I definatly recommend Bizare, Monkey Business, Titanic and bedrock is a MUST! The best club in my oppinion was Castle club cos it had its trance bit downstairs, the hip hop/rnb in the middle and the cheese upstairs but also look out for abbys (dont know spelling) with its different nights like twice as nice and garage nation. ALL IN ALL A BLINDIN HOLIDAY AND WOULD DEFINATLY RECOMMEND AYIA NAPA AND THE ELEANA APARTMENTS TO ANY YOUNG BOYS/GIRLS LOOKING FOR A FUN HOLIDAY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice August 2007 Opinion submitted in August 2007 by : Guy 32, Lisa 28, Conor 8 and Ebony 5 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: First of all I would like to say that if you have low standards of living and don't care what your kids get up to Electra village is a perfect place .... FIRST CHOICE should be ashamed of offering this accomadation especially when Reps Matt and Ellie and so polite, helpful and friendly...They must feel so embarassed to have to deal with the daily occuring problems On arrival at Electra we found that allocation of rooms were quick and efficent..rooms were comfortable and air conditioned but this was where the good ended..Decor was dated bed throwovers were old faded and tatty, clumps of hair were found under bedsall three wall lamps were broken, 2 weren't fixed to wall properly and 1 didn't work at all. One of the patio door locks was broken making our room easy to be broken into...there was no lighting on the balcony so you couldn't relax and read on returning to your room at night whilst endulging in the calm atmosphere and the sea breeze. Although the bathroom was clean we gound the sink plug was broken..toilet was hard to flush and cistern was hanging off the wall so obviously maintenance was not kept on top of. Due to the dangers of the broken lock on patio door, electric cooker, kettle etc..we found that it is best to let young children sleep in the bedroom so furniture had to be moved around. on booking we were told sky t.v would be in our room..this wasn't true instead we had one poor quality English channel available. had ant problem during my stay within my room and balcony but took hotel staff two days to sort out and when they did come to my room the lady had the cheek to say that I was dirty and needed to clean up although this wasn't the case, my room was clean. FOOD AND SERVICE The waiter service was acceptable and most of te restaurant staff were polite and friendly although some couldn't speak English. Choice of food was average but even after paying for half board we found it was best to eat out so you could enjoy a nice meal..hotel restaureant wasn,t very hygenic either...so i8f your thinking of going all inclusive DON'T !! BAR DRINKS Apart fron having branded soft drinks and carlsberg larger all other beer, wines and spirits were domestic. ENTERTAINMENT Alex and Tina were fantasic with everyone and offered a number of daytime activities but evening entertainment was boring. KIDS REPS Zoe was the only one of three who actuaaly shown any interest in the kids the other two were too interested in laughing and joking between themselves which i find unprofessional. THE POOL Quite big and cleaned everyday but drainage grills around edge were broken and could cause accidents(feet getting stuck scrapes on skin)..rocky area around baby pool was unsuitable also slippery slimey patch on edge of poolside (babies) which a lot of people slipped on including one of the kids reps who hurt herself. SUNLOUNGERS Policy of not reserving sunbeds is ignored be prepared to get up at 6.00am to claim a spot.People even go off for the whole day after reserving beds so keep an eye out for this ignorant culprits and throw there towels in the pool. Drains around pool also stink and ants are a problem Overall Not recommended. I also feel that there should be c.c.t.v especially were the gym is located because there are youg teenage girls in there messing with dangerous equipment and being extremely flirtatious with any male figure. Ayia Napa itself is absolutely beautiful and I would definately go back BUT I'LL STAY SOMEWHERE BETTER. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - August 2007 Opinion submitted in August 2007 by : Gaynor Froggatt - Sheffield 40,38,14, 8 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Having just returned from our holiday at Electra Tourist Village Ayia Napa, Cyprus I would like to make the following comments. Firstly the entertainment staff at the accommodation work very hard to make your holiday enjoyable but unfortunately as there are only two of them, the entertainment is very limited ad very repetative. The girls that run the kids club are great but could be more imaginative with the activities on offer. We booked through First Choice with another family and decided to go all inclusive. Bad Idea !! The Electra is not equipped to be all inclusive i.e one toaster in the dining hall and one tea/coffee machine - not helpful when at full capacity the hotel holds (according to the First Choice Rep)350-400 people. Guests can upgrade to all inclusive when they arrive and pay the extra but this put the hotel and staff under so much pressure as they did not have the facilities nor the staff to cope with these numbers of guests at high season. On many occasions when we went to the dining hall there were no free tables and we had to wait. The food choice was very limited - childrens menu chicken nuggets or fish fingers and chips every day !! that was it !! Adult menu was chicken, pork, beef and lamb (sometimes fish) albeit cooked in a different sauce or barbequed. All vegetables rock hard and cooked in butter. We had to eat out a few times as we were so fed up and could not face the food on offer. The entertainment area is very small and under a wooden roof. This is absolutely claustrophobic at night there was no air plus again there was not enough tables and chairs for guests to sit and enjoy a drink - very worrying when your children are taking part in the mini-disco and there is no room for you to stay and watch them making sure they are safe !! so many of us used to bring our own patio/balcony furniture round the pool - (only two tables outisde - no chairs) - proving that they cannot cater for the number of guests in the accommodation. The bar was manned mainly by one/two staff at themost every day and night.Queues were formingat the bar nd the poor lads behind didnt know ifthey were coming or going. A drink was spilt all over the floor in the entertainment are by a member of staff but this was not cleaned up and was left as hazzard there is simply not enough staff !! Another major annoyance was that the bar staff was blatantly serving children under 16 with alcohol. Rooms were basic - air cons leaked in many rooms - our room was on the ground floor and our patio led onto a small garden area - very nice in the day but at night it was pitch black and the balconies/patios do not have any lights on them so you have to sit in pitch black ! or leave your lights on and curtains open in your room - not good when you have two children asleep in bed. If you would like a sunbed round the pool beware - cos people were reserving them with towels from 4 o'clock in themorning !! To be sure of a sunbed you have to set the alarm for no later than 6am or you have blown it. Also the pool area is not maintained as it should be. Cups and plastic beakers and litter were left round the pool for days. This was partly because some guests thought that it was beneath them to clear away their own rubbish but on every other holiday I have been on this was up to the hotel staff at night but unfortunately as there are so little staff this is another area that gets neglected. Some hotel towels were left on the top of some bushes round the pool for 10 days - nobody moved them !! The beach outside the apartments is very rocky. The sea is clear but is full of rocks for quite a way out and I got a sea urchin stuck in my foot so beware and dont go in the sea without any footwear on as it is lethal ! Great for crabbing with the kids ! There is a nice walk along the beach path towards aiya napa centre and the marina. This is well worth a visit. Aiya Napa beach is clean and the sea is crystal clear - in our opinion this beach is as nice as if not better than Fig Tree Bay which everyone raves about. Nissi beach is also very nice with crystal waters but is more for the yung uns ! Loud beach bars etc.. On the first day of arrival we asked if we could pay for a late check out room as we had a late flight home but were tol th we could only request one two days before departure. We did this also but were told to come back the day before departure. We did this and were then told no and we could use the facilities of the courtesy room. This room has two showers both with doors hanging off and one sink. No dry area at all. It smells and is very unclean. Eventually after nagging the First Choice Rep we were able to keep our room on but loads of people couldnt. Apparenty we should have been given this option at the time of booking the holiday - we werent !! All in all this holiday was not worth the £3,000 that we paid. First Choice need to seriously look at regrading this accommodation to probably a 2 star and take away the gold status that it has received in the past. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: first choice july 2007 Opinion submitted in August 2007 by : goodacre, calton, miller, 58,59,44,43,31,29,16,15,13,10,6,4 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: well just returned from a brilliant 2weeks all inclusive at electra. what can i say hotel nice friendly staff, very helpful nothing too much trouble.rooms basic but clean, air con a godsend, and free, just 10 deposit for remote.pool area nice, safe and clean. food very nice although a bit repetative.lunch time food is chosen from a menu and is lovely,so no food left around for the flies of which i saw none.bar staff worked hard in very hot conditions as no air con in bar area, just a few fans, that was the only downside to this holiday uncomfortable in the evenings.hotel beach is very rocky but just a short walk away is sandy bay its really nice and a bit further on is nissy beach. The accomodation is basic but the studio rooms are very spacious. We had a sea view however the hotel does have a problem with pigeons at this side of the complex. As we were all inclusive we spent very little time in our rooms so this was not a problem to us, however anyone spending time on the balcony would probably need to change rooms. The all inclusive is excellent with a good choice of food all day and a wide selection of drinks until midnight. The entertainment is a little 'cheesy' but Alex and Tina do their best. The pool area is very good however you do need to get up early to claim a sun lounger. There are various pool games throughout the day but this does not disrupt anyone wanting to relax as the pool is very large. Ayia Napa as you would expect is geared up for the young with a vey busy nightlife however there are quieter areas where the drinks are cheaper. Be aware that every bar has somebody enticing you in with 'various' offers however some are better than others. Cyprus is certainly not 'cheap' for food and drink but as we were all inclusive we spent very little money. The water park is excellent and can be reached by taxi for £6. We took a 'Happy' boat trip costing £6 which we booked at the harbour, half the price of the First Choice trip. Finally a word about the 'kids' reps, although we dont have young kids we watched the kids disco most nights. Of the 3 kids reps Zoe is the only one with any interest in the kids. She has loads of enthusiasm and realy tries her best. The other 2 girls giggle to each other and put no effort in whatsoever, all i can say is if i had got young kids i would have complined about them as they were hopeless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: July 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Wendy & Alan - Colchester, Essex (41,41,18,18,15) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: We have just come back from a week here and would not go back again. The rooms are dated and shabby and could all do with a lick of paint. The food in the restaurant was terrible as you never got much choice and it was very much the same every night! But we would recommend you eating in the "bar" as you had more choice and it was better quality! The pool was cleaned every day but it was dirty as was the pool area! The pool area was only hosed down once the whole time we were here. The bar staff were friendly as were the entertainers who were always on the go! The evening entertainment was cheesy, but thats what to expect! We asked for a "superior" room with a sea-view and cannot understand what made this a superior room. We did get a bath with a jacuzzi but it did not work well and as for the sea-view we could see some sea but not much as it was hidden by trees! Our daughter and her friend (both 18) had a better room and paid a lot less than us. You are right on the beach, which is not bad and have water sports. We would recommend the para-gliding and crazy squab, very good and fun! We all went into the "square" via taxi which cost £4. This was fantastic with lots of "life". The girls went off and had a great time and got a taxi back much later on that night (early morning) and felt very safe. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - July 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Nicky and Dave (28, 30) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Just returned from the Electra Holiday Village after a 2 week stay on a self catering basis. The apartments were nice with lots of space and everything was clean. We had fresh towels and bedding every day. You dont need much else during your holidays in my opinion, I dont cook anything more 'complex' than a sandwhich and the kitchen was ok for that however there was also a toaster, little cooker etc. The pool is massive although you have to get out to the pool reasonably early to grab a sun lounger, especially during the school holidays. There is always loads going on around the pool and whilst I was too busy being lazy there were all kinds of sporty things happening if you like that kind of thing. The apartments are situated right on the beach with a little path that runs down to Sandy Bay beach, the main ayia napa central beach, and the harbour or a 10 minute walk up the road takes you to Nissi beach which is gorgeous. The beach immediately behind the apartments is nice enough but is very rocky so you cant really go out into the sea although they do have lots of water sports. In ayia napa itself you must go to the Limelight restaurant (which is sort of near the square)which cooks the meat on an open spit (dont eat anything before you go though and make sure you dont order a starter as the main courses are enough to feed about 6 people!) and the Polynesian restaurant 'Fiji' which is over the road from Burger King (totally different from anything you will have had before). Both were amazing. We love Ayia Napa so we'll probably be back again soon and would be happy to stay at the Electra Holiday Village (or the Bellini Bungalows which are just over the road and are also nice). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice, May 2007 Opinion submitted in May 2007 by : Alison Read, Peter Read, Thomas Read, Rose Stable, Andy Stabile, Michael Stabile, Nicole Stabile (42, 43, 12, 44, 38, 12 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: In relation to other comments on this site, we are currently staying at the Electra and are having a great time. Food is excellent, with plenty of choice to suit all. The pool is very safe for children of all ages. The sunbeds are new and there is no problem getting one. The accommodation is good, clean and well kept, being cleaned daily. Would recommned going to the waterpark and to the Nissi Beach Hotel beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We are staying are an all-inclusive basis and found this excellent value for money. We have experienced no problem with excessive noise. Entertainment is what you would expect from non-professionals ie, very cheesy but staff work hard all day long to ensure that guests are enjoying themselves. This is our third visit to the Electra and the standard has not changed. So if you are staying here during the Summer, you will have a great time!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - OCT 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : Smith - The West (34,38,4) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: I am not going to right about the resort as there is a myriad of info on NAPA. My reprt focuses on the hotel Firstly we were sold a 4* Holiday, WE DIDNT GET IT! Electra village is not 4* in either accomodation or food. The Hotel is very shappy with poor decor and untidy furniture. The accomodation is very basic, not cleaned very often and never cleaned under the furniture, when we arrived the front lock was broken and the lock to the patio doors had fallen off! The pool is not bad but the sunbeds are in a state of disrepair, the outside main bar is very untidy, exceptionally dirty and resembles a lean to. The entertainment and lunch are also served in this area! the entertainment equiptment is cheap and not good quality and despite the best efforts of the entertainers pretty rubbish. The entertainment, well you cant escape it, deafening music constantly by the pool and very loud at night. There is nowhere, and I do mean NOWHERE to have peace and quiet if you wish, no seperate bar and even the rooms with the door closed and the aircon (which incidently you have to pay for) on cannot drown out the noise, this goes on to 12am. The Food is diabolical... Bland, tastless and fried, thats lunch. Bland tasteless and over cooked by people with poor hygene, that covers dinner. We saw staff cleaning the tables with a dustpan and brush that they had just cleaned the floor with. I saw a member of staff stirring a tray of food with an ungloved hand, this was in the main eating area, god knows what they do behind the closed doors. We ate out most of the time out of neccesity rather than choice as we were so appalled by the conditions. the First choice rep acted like here hands were tied all the time and when we asked to move to a different 4* hotel they wanted an additional £500. When we asked to go self catering and have the difference refunded flatly refused. Very little help. We asked to see her manager, when she turned up she was rude, snide and very unhelpful not what you expect from a reputable company In Summary FIRST CHOICE Nah, LAST CHOICE!!!! Dont go there its rubbish there are a lot nicer hotel in CYPRUS I know because ive been to them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - Sep 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : 35,32,2 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Ok. Let me start by saying that we would return to this hotel if my wife and I came to Cyprus again with our son. If it was just me and the wife, we would stay somewhere a bit more suitable and frankly, nicer. THE HOTEL IS AT THE VERY BEST 3 *, but I would suggest it is more like 2 and a half *. I have stayed in numerous hotels on which I have based this opinion. The whole complex is VERY tired. i.e. it is in desperate need of a cash injection to modernise and refurbish everything. In my opinion, it should close for next season for this to happen! But it is Very popular and the reviews here suggest strongly that the vast majority were very pleased over all. It is generally clean, but if you look under the beds, you'll wish you hadn't. The maid service is inconsistent both in frequency and quality. The location is excellent. Nissi Beach is the one to go for. Avoid the hotel beach- FAR too rocky for children. The food in the hotel is very good. And for £6 all you can eat in the evenings, it is excellent value! The staff are ok. Mel, the First Choice rep was also very good. She sorted out problems quickly and efficiently. The pool is very good. The sun beds are not. They look like they have been salvaged from a skip! The music by the pool is TOO LOUD!!! DO NOT GET IN A TAXI!!! THEY DRIVE LIKE IDIOTS!!! THEY HAVE 2 SPEEDS: STOP AND FULL THROTTLE!!!! The best retstaurant for families by far is THE WILD WEST. A designated playground surrounded by the tables so you can watch your child play whilst eating delicious food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. On the whole, an above average resort/hotel. But I am a bit of a snob!! Oh yes. I have never seen so many boobs on holiday before. Gents; DO NOT FORGET YOUR SUNGLASSES!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - Sept 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : Davison - Leeds (40, 36, 14, 7) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We are just back from a weeks All Inclusive stay at the Electra and what a holiday we had. The Electra is geared up for every kind of holiday maker from the clubbers to families from singles to elderly it has something for everyone. The apartments are clean and spacious, bathroom is basic but has all you need in it, beds clean and fairly comfortable. The one bedroom apartments have two sofa beds in the lounge which are specifically childrens beds and wouldnt accomodate an adult. The only downside to this holiday I found was the choice of food which wasnt very plentiful. The food itself was lovely and always hot and well cooked but not a lot of variety and the childrens buffet section really did need some imagination. Surely no child can be happy with chicken nuggets or fish fingers and chips for a whole week. But having said that the rest of the food was really good. The dining areas were always clean and the high chairs for the babies were always covered with cling film after they had been cleaned ready for the next persons use. The bar staff were absolutely fantastic and did a sterling job especially Jaro and Jimmy well done guys! The animation team were second to none and worked really hard at making sure everyone enjoyed their stay and at least participated in something during their time at the Electra. Well done Alex and Shona we miss you already! Vicky the First Choice Swim Kids Rep was brilliant. My son had swimming lessons with her during our stay there. Five 1/2 hour block lesson booking cost £20 cyprus pounds and he was swimming within two days and by the end of the holiday he had completed his 10m and got his certificate and badge which were presented to him on our last night there. Electric El and Loopy Loo the kids reps were also fantastic and did a great job of keeping the kids entertained. From Pizza Hut night out and a movie to Sweetie Party and Sweetie Bingo. The surrounding area of the hotel itself is quiet and situated right on the beach. The beach however is very rocky and not really suitable for small children, elderly or disabled people. However if you follow the path up and round the side of the Hotel Panas you come to Sandy Bay which is a lovely little cove, very safe for swimming in as it stays shallow for quite a fair distance. There are bars and cafes on the beach and it is very clean. Sunbeds and Umberellas cost £1.25 per item cyprus pounds. If going to the beach visit Nicholas at the top of the path way in his little beach hut where he sells drinks of all descriptions. The cats and kittens that will come to greet you as you are walking up there make the visit all worth while in itself (if you like cats that is). The walk into Ayia Napa from the hotel takes about 1/2 an hour. There are plenty of gift shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. Even one or two strip clubs for those that way inclined. We ate out at the Pergoda chinese and it was gorgeous. Ayia Napa Luna park is well worth a visit 20 tokens costs you £10 cyprus pounds and gets you a fair few goes on things. There is the sling shot bungee ride and that costs £10.00 per person. The weather during our stay was fantastic, we couldnt have asked for better. Temperatures reaching 30+ every day. On the whole this was a fantastic holiday and we would not hesitate to go back again to Ayia Napa and the Electra Holiday Village. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First choice August 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Morris family 46 42 &10 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: Arrived to holiday village eagerly expecting a 4star hotel, however were greeted with a 2 star, at the most. Our room was situated in the back of the hotel, overlooking a clothes line! The lobby, dining area and bar area had seen better days! The dining area resembled a school canteen. The food was very basic, however the breakfast was ok. The drinks were watered down. The maid service was ok if all you wanted was your bed making. The entertainment was run by an egotisitic young man and his girl friend, who suited their selves with the limited array of entertainment. Saying all that, the pool area was lovely, the grounds of the hotel were well maintained and the location was relaxing. Also the bar staff and waiters were very friendly. Met a lovely family from Romford, who kept us sane! We will certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone we know, but would return to Cyprus again, because of the beautiful warm sea and fantastic climate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: first choice 2/8/2006 to 17/08/2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : garry lyn hayley daniel 43,42,18,15 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: on arrival hotel seemed ok, but as the holiday went on you could see that the place needed some maintenance, for example lights in the swiming pool hanging off which i reported and nothing was done, sunbeds where all frayed and rusted and often thrown in the pool at night, music system was constanly breaking down and the hotel only seem play 2 cds constanly of which some tracks were scratched and was left playing until someone told them, drinks at the bar were served in plastic cups day and night unless you asked for a glass , but they were limited, the soft drinks IE coke lemonade , orange etc were all far to sweet and some of the guests were actually purchasing soft drinks from the shop next door for mixers. whilst we were there the entertainment team were sacked and a new team brought in, but they were no better than the prevous team, all in all enterainment was very poor. staff at the hotel were friendly, food was nice can not complain about that , although in the bar where you would eat you where often accompanied by cats walking around the tables, not very hygenic. no aircon in the resturant or main reception or bar which could be very uncoftable in the evenings, studio room which was 4 beds in 1 room not big enough for 4 adults to share, maid service was poor as on 1 occasion we got blood on a sheet and thought that they had changed the sheet , only to find that all they had done was to swap them over with our sons bed . nice beach at the back of the hotel, although rocky, nice bars and resturants 20 mins walk, could recomend karystos bar good acts there, lots of nice resturants in ayia napa 30 min walk, nissi beach although looks nice is in fact very dirty and littered with ciggerette butts and is very overcrowded, waterpark a good day out, all in all we did have a nice time but we did spend a lot of money outside to over come the dissapointment of the all inclusive facilities at the electra village, all i can say is that first choice must have a very high marking system for their grading of hotels , i would rate this hotel with 2 stars going my travelling experience from around the world. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - Aug 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Caroline, Tony, Megan, Tanisha (33,67,9,9) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Opinion: Just arrived home from a one week stay all inclusive at the Electra. Our First Choice rep Mel was extremely friendly and helpful (always there when she should be). On arriving the reception staff were more than helpful and complex was very pleasing to the eye. The flowers and trees made it a beautiful place to relax in. Our one bedroom appartment was ample size for us all with self catering facilities even though we were all inclusive, which was ideal for that early morning coffee before the kids woke up! The 3 pool areas were great for all ages. A tiny toddlers pool, a sports pool which only came up to my waist (ideal for those less confident children) and the main pool which was still only 1.6m at the deep end so no worries about the children. As the children and I are all fussy eaters I was extremely pleased with the food on offer at the Electra, both in the main restaurant and the bar snacks. You could easily satisfy all tastes here. The Electras entertainers, Alex and Shona were a great laugh and got both young and old joining in the fun and games (without hassling you like some others I've experienced before). Activities included aquarobics, water polo, tennis, football, pool and water volleyball. They also did little sing songs with the children before the evening entertainment. Well done guys!! Venturing outside the resort you have the small beach areas which were ideal for escaping the noise from the pool area. It is quite rocky so wouldnt recommend it for very small children but was told that Nissi Beach (further along on the right) was beautiful. We all enjoyed shopping along the main street and walking along the harbour which are within walking distance but if you prefer you can get a taxi for £4 Cyprus pounds. We only have one negative about our holiday - we had to come home!! I would definately go here again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: briggsjuly2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : briggs berks Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: We returned dissapointed as had holidayed in 2004 the hotel as now become a 20s so large groups of 12 single sx bookings resulting in extreme bad behaviour i.e men running around naked in the day time on one occasion. The first choice plane was falling to bits, one of cases went missing, Larnaca airport was a shambles. The accommodation was shabby and was in desperate need of updatin. The towels were like sandpaper and were fraying, as was the shabby bedding. The air conditioning was fab. The reps and staff were useless and unhelpful, the entertainment was like something off hi de hi. Not 4 star at all, more lik 2. Families with kids seemed satisfied. Stayed All Inclusive. Our Twin Room was a good size, basic but clean with good facilities for SC. The bathroom could do with a good scrub and a bit of maintinence on refilling grout around the suite and replacing cracked floor tiles. It just makes the place look a bit grubby but it is NOT a dirty hotel! We did have to request for our room cleaned on 3 occasions. Only because We were left for 2-3 days at a time and were desperate for Towels and Toilet Rolls. However as soon as the problem was taken to Reception it was promptly sorted out. So no complaints on service there. The food in the Evenings got a bit repetative. Same in same out, grilled this and grilled that. A very basic choice. However they did a great Daytime Menu with a real good choice of dishes from light appetite to Main Meal. You could not complain at that. We did make it up a couple of times for breakfast. We were very impressed. They offered a wide selection. All the fried food was cooked nice. Not like the watery baked beans and powdered eggs that you usually see in hotels. The Bar and waiting Staff worked hard and were friendly. The drinks were kept strong. No watering down here! If you do want to escape the hotel one evening for a meal or just a night out, you are just 15mins from the heart of Ayia Napa. There is plenty to do around you. Except "The Square" is like a ghost town in the day with little to nowhere open. Your Reps of course will try to flog you the excursions. Do the Waterpark but go there yourself. It is 5cyps in a taxi. Avoid the "Beach Party". It is okay but well over priced. Funny how they advertise it Free bar when you pay over the odds for it despite being AI anyway. I highly recommend the "Lazy Day Cruise" as a last day trip to round of your holiday. The food is good on this trip and it is a great way of topping up that last bit of tan. You also get three stops to dive into the ocean. This trip is worth every penny. We would do it again next year definite. The pool is large and not to deep. It is a case of reserve a sunbed at midnight I am afraid. The best thing about this holiday has to be the people that we have met. Jen and Gemma do a good job in trying to keep everyone happy. They are great girls but working with a dodgy sound system can't be easy. They really do try their best and despite them worrying they are doing okay. Yes girls we were even amused at the "Freddy Mercury Tribute". But please ditch "Mr Magic". What a waste of time and the kids magic show is an insult to intelligence under the age of 3! Right the Kids Club Reps. Well there is Jolly John and Electric El!! Oh I think there was a third but I fail to remember her/his name. Eloise it took me ages to get that braid out of Abbey's hair (lol). Good Luck in becomming a Cabin Crew Member. I have every faith in you suceeding. Jolly John? It is going to take us a long long time to forget that name! Jolly John is the best KCR that I have ever met. Not just me everybody was impressed with his efforts with the children, and he was loved with it. We hope to remain good friends with Jolly John for a long long time. John will suceed in which ever path he chooses to follow in life. A top lad!! So all in all this year July 2006 has been a memorable holiday due to these wonderful people that We have met. The lifeguard i.e. The Hoff!! was very helpful NOT he just stared at the said captains log and did nothing!! Hope he enjoyed his early morning strawberry milkshake. The food was excellent especially off the lunchtime menu, we recommend you have the side orders i.e. order more than one main course each!!! Yummy yummy!!! Breakfast very good and evening meal also very nice but hold onto your plates if you have not finnished as waitresses very efficient when clearing them away!!! They have several theme nights if you like beef, pork, lamb and chicken in slightly different sauces every night then you won't go far wrong. Drinks and cocktails excellent, nice and strong depending on who makes them. Erika makes them very strong and very nice!!! Jimmy, 'I do everything' is a good laugh when you get to know him although he has android tendancies?? Ask him exactly what he does and all will become clear!! As for the entertainment, excellent for kids, kids reps spot on especially Jolly John. The first week of the evening entertainment was bearable if you had a laugh with them and at them!! The Elvis or Helvis night as we preferred to call it was a laugh. We took fake side burns went down very well!! The Real Helvis the second week was absolutely garbage and couldn't sing. Finally, we would just like to say a big hello to all those people who helped make our holiday a laugh; Sunbed Queen (never moved for 14 days from the corner area of shallow end of the pool.) Staff were being sacked, new ones arriving and using foul language in front of the children around the pool and was also drunk whilst working. On two days there was no entertainment at all during the day. We spent an absolute fortunate going out which is not the idea when you go all inclusive. Overall, the accomodation was clean and spacious, although the bathroom was quite small & infested with ants - other guests were apparently having the same problems - we had to "grout" the tiles with shaving cream to stop the ants coming though! The Kitchen area was nicely laid out, and we had 6 of everything (plates, cutlery, glasses etc) so more than enough. There is a shop onsite, which is handy for essentials, but it is expensive and the staff are very unfriendly. If you are self-catering, I would recommend hiring a car (or using a taxi) and going to Kokkinos supermarket, which I belive is near Paralimni. The supermarket stocks everything you could possibly need, and is very cheap. I would recommend Electra to famillies with small children. My partner and I felt quite isolated, as everything was geared towards familiy entertainment. The bar anf pool area was very noisy during the day, as most children were running aroound and shouting - they seemed to be left to their own devices whilst parents sunbathed... Although the pool is large, and the surrounding area spacious and clean, loud music is played by the poolside all day, which is irritating when you are trying to relax in the sun. If you would like a quiet life, the beach is a 30second walk away, and is generally very quiet. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to families only. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - July 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : JD - Dundee (40, 14) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: First impression of the Electra was ok. Not a lot of pools - only 2 and it was too hot during the day to cool off in them. Plenty sunbeds could be had apart from those that would book theirs in the early hours of the morning and not use them until after lunch!!! Food was absolutely fantastic. You could not fault this at all. We were all inclusive and would highly recommend this. You are not tied to the hotel just because you have paid for this - you can go out and have a meal elsewhere!! The food was always piping hot at dinner and the snacks were great. Ice cream for the kids (and adults) most of the day. Only criticism is that the restaurant should have air conditioning as it't too hot to eat there - but you can eat at the bar area. The hotel staff were excellent - the bar staff were magnificent - they were so friendly - especially Rado, Jaro and Vascilly. The waiters and waitresses were fantastic too - everyone was so friendly - apart from a couple of the receptionists. The rooms were ok but I didn't think they were that big for 4 people. The air conditioning was a godsend - it was freezing. The balcony was really big. The beach is just at the hotel but is a bit rocky - great walk along the beach as there is a path that you follow either left (into Aiya Napa) or right (to Nissi Beach). Nissi Beach is lovely. The weather was great - always nice and hot!!. I would recommend the hotel for families as the place was full of kids - but there were young people there as the hotel has started a TWENTYS club. The reps were great but disappeared as quickly as they came!!! All-in-all a great holiday but more for families rather than couples. I would go back to Aiya Napa and stay elsewhere but if the Electra was the only hotel on offer, I would stay there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: first choice july 06 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : michelle pickford 41,41,17,15,14 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: On arriving at the hotel on our all inclusive, the staff were very helpful and well organised. Easy accessible for the very young and the disabled. Quite a few people coming down with ear infections including my husband and son even though the pool gets cleaned every day. All the staff were very friendly and helpful throught out our holiday even though they worked a 6 day 10 hour job for a wage i wouldn't get out of bed for in a morning. Snack bar menu i preferred but restaurant menu very good but could of done with more choice for small young people. Trips out very expensive from the hotel. Shop around you'll find better deals on the front street. Take your driving licence with you. They drive on the same side as us and all roads are sign posted in english. You can hire a car for £54 for 3 days with a full tank of petrol. Don't book from hotel, twice as much money. We didn't use the kids club but heard good reports about it. The downfall for us was the entertainment. The one stop people who were supposed to have entertainment on from 10.30 till 4.00 in the afternoon were bone lazy. Only had water polo or volley ball per day and thats if the the one stop people hadn't been out the night before which they usually had. Music was sticking constantly throught out the holiday and the same two cds played. No entertainment for my children whats so ever. Night entertainment was even worse. Music system breaking down, one stop night entertainment crap unless you're 90 and remember molan rouge. Karaoke night good but you were the entertainers. other than that i wouldn't bother staying in. We ended of spending quite a good sum of money trying to keep ourselves entertained but having to go outside of the hotel to do it which you dont expect on a all inclusive. Be carefull in the Pool as my husband picked up a very nasty ear infection. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: Eclipse Direct - June 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : Sharon, Pete & Joshua (36,36,7) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: This was by far the best hotel we have stayed at. We always stay in 4* accommodation and I would agree with other guests in saying the rooms are more 3* standard because they are a bit tired but they are large and kept spotlessly clean. The service & staff at the hotel however are spot on which makes a nice change. They can't do enough for you and always with a smile. The chef even prepared a meal(not on the menu) especially for myself & my husband on our last night! My son loved Electric L, Loopy Loo & Jolly John at kids club who are great with the kids. Harriot & Liz try really hard to keep everyone entertained, well done girls! Nothing bad to say about the Electra (apart from the fact that the beds are hard!) and would definately go back. Say "HI" to Tassior (head of restaurant) and Jimmy (bar)and have a great holiday if you're travelling soon. Beautiful complex very clean went for 2 weeks and the maids only missed 2 days. Very clean and friendly, pool fantastic and the food and drink was great. Kids loved it Liz was great, adult entertainment was bit average but we all found our own entertainment. Was all inclusive so never ate out anywhere. Ayia Napa square is about 20 mins walk along the shops and about 30 mins along the beach root. Cant wait to go back well done the Electra......... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electra Holiday Village - Ayia Napa Operator and Date: First Choice - May 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : Lucie Roper - Carshalton (2 adults & 2 Children) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We have just returned from a brilliant two weeks |
