Staff were very friendly entertaintment and food was excellent. Although the apartments are uphill they are in walking distance to the old and new town or 5 euros in a taxi and just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Would defo return again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: Booked Direct with Terralta - June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Phelan Family, (61,56,33,30,25,23,10,4,2.) We were in block three on the first floor, it was very quiet all of the time didnt get disturbed in any way, sun was on the balcony from about five till about eight. The pool was excellent overall very clean and sunbeds usually available all day, bar area was pleasant and staff polite. It is a bit uphill coming back to the apartments but nothing major. Chinese meals are very cheap starting at about 4.50 including wine per person and excellent value. Only had food once at the apartments and that was a breakfast on the last day which was excellent, wished we had tried it earlier. The reception staff all spoke very good English and were very helpful and polite. We were lucky enough to be there for the apartments fifth anniversary, which included free buffet and drinks on the lunchtime for two hours, which was very generous, and later on entertainment, fireworks and free raffle (in which we won a radio). We never stayed around the apartments for the entertainment in the evening so we cant comment on that. All in all an enjoyable stay at a first class apartments and resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Apartments very nice always clean and tidy, lovely big pool which is spotless. Shop sells quiet a range of products at reasonable prices. Entertainment a big let down as it has been on other visits I thought it might have improved by now. Bus every hour outside apartments at 25 mins past cost 1 Euro or a taxi into centre for 6 Euros. Only there for 4 nights so went into town for food and entertainment. Lots of places to go such as Jokers, Peatloaf is very good, Stardust, Sinatras and Chaplins are ok. Great food at Tony Romas. I am going back in October but I am going to a Hotel. Would go back to Terralta in a year or so maybe entertainment has improved, couldn't get any worse luckily we had older kids with us they need to start improving things for families with younger kids. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: march 2007 Opinion submitted in March 2007 by : lee-sheffield (37,33,17,15) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: hi just retuned from terralta apartments benidorm 3rd march 10 march 2007 the apartments are spotless staff always cleaning up round the pool areas changed our beds and towels 3 times in a week very big rooms sky tv at £2.00 per day day but be carefull with young children channel 24 porn all day long but reception will block it for you it is situated on a hill ok for us and plenty of old people were walking up and down the hill takes about 10 minutes to walk to the old town of benidorm 3 euros in a taxi or the bus stops bang outside for 1 euro will take you anywere in benidorm the hotel entertainment was good for winter parrot shows, dancig shows, happy hour 9 till 10 bingo, quizs,so no need to go in to benidorm if you dindt want to.indoor pool good good choice of meals 12 to 14.30 dinner 17.00 to 21.00 tea only good down stairs amusment arcade all a euro gym and steam bath good 15 euros for the week this is the best self catering apartments we have been in and are going back in september --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays Feb 2007 Opinion submitted in March 2007 by : Dave,Trace,Stace,Brad Leicester 45,43,16,9 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: This was our 5th stay at these apartments and they are still first class. best Chinese in town is Pato Laqueado in the old town. go to the grand Bali and go to the top in the panoramic lifts you can see ibiza on a clear day. Only fault was the entertainment, also bar closed early xmas day. Shop very well stocked and quite reasonable. Would go again, but the price would have to come down at the moment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays sept 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : kevin gary jim 37 40 45 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: just got back from 2 weeks stayed at the terralta very nice place to stay friendly staff very helpfull in all ways nice pool also indoor pool for adults only and steam bath very nice only downside on this complex is that it is on a steep hill so if you dont like hills then your in for a suprise its fine going down but coming back up takes a bit of getting used to no problem after a few days there is a great place to eat at the bottom of the hill the stretford end pub really nice food good portions and good prices recomend gammon eggs chips had that a few times good sunday roast here arrive early it gets packed very quickly there were a few other places we had meals on the front but none as good as this place went into new town every night 1 euro from bus stop outside the complex 7 coming back in taxi not too bad if there is a few of you if you go to new town you must go and see abba esque in stardust bar on at 9 every night brilliant there is annother abba tribute band in bar nextdoor no where near as good also in stardust you have tony scott on at ten he is absolutely fab but dont sit too close to the front be warned there is a good elvis show on in rockerfellas and status quo follow wasnt very impressed with quo as i play the guitar and these were quite clearly faking it best bar for a drink and dance or sit on terrace chilling out is champions bar very cheap and good music and great laugh only bad point to make about new town is it needs a good clean up place stinks and beggars everywhere quite funny really one night it pssed down with rain and they all got up of the street and got inside a people carrier they are trying to rip innocent people off would definetly go back in a few years time --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: sept 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : S & S - Northamtonshire Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We have just returned from 11 nights in Benidorm, staying at the Terralta apartments. We found the apartment excellant, very clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The resort shop is ok for your water, milk and fresh baguettes and Jane who runs it is really helpful. All the staff were friendly with the exception of the bar staff who made us feel a little uneasy at times, making everyone queue in a line at the bar & not a please or thankyou, even in their own language passed their lips. All they wanted to do was take your money and send you on your way. Only had a burger and chips from the bar, not very nice and i cant comment on anything else as we ate out every night. The apartments, as pointed out in other reviews, are approx 10-15 min walk down hill to old Benidorm, then another 10-15 min walk to new benidorm. We did it a few times with no problem, but I wouldnt want to do it in the heat of july or august, although while we were there it reached 32c on some days. On those days we caught the No. 8 bus right outside the complex which runs approx 25mins past the hour every day till 25 past 9. the last bus up the hill is at 10pm. Bus fare is 1 euro each trip per person. A taxi costs approx 4-5 euros. the wednesday market is great and is only a 10 min walk round the back of the complex. Places we found good to eat in were... in old Benidorm 1.Jennies cafe- great breakfast. 2.Duke of wellington- lovely curry & chilli. In new Benidorm 1. Chino's opposite Talk of the town- had the best chinese meal for 2 ever. 2.Oscars- the very best homemade lasagne and the chips are just like grandma would make, delicious. Sean the chef is very passionate about his cooking. Now for Entertainment... Our best nights were spent in 1. The Talk of the Town. 2.Queens, Wayne(Levi) and Derek own it and do most of the shows, which are out of this world. 3. Vincents 4. Tower Lounge 5. Jokers All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly consider going back to the Terralta appartments. have a great holiday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours August 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : Shaun, Linda, Josh and Jack Gibbons (36,31,15,5) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Arriving at the apartments all okay, rooms where large and clean. We was situated at the back of block B and unfortunately got woken up most mornings by barking dogs situated in the houses opposite the apartments. The pool was large and clean, no problems in a morning getting a sun lounger. The bar was adequate but lacked any atmosphere and by midnight had stopped serving which was no good as you was just getting going by then. Because of the location and it is a steep hill it was to far to go any where else. The food was not very good at all everything was very basic. They would only serve certain types of food at certain times of the day, the main menu was only served across dinner and tea so if you wanted anything else you had to get it from the take away menu which was rubbish. Also if it was takeaway they would only let you eat it outside, we was watching football once in the bar but they would not let us eat our takeaway food inside. The entertainment was terrible so you had no choice but to go out on a night. Benidorm it selve was nice the old town was good and this is where the best restaurents where. We found a nice spanish restaurent up near the plaza opposite the chinese which served excellent food. Sherry's on the plaza was good excellent food again typical home cooked food and they had sky sports. We went up the Levante end a few times and found a real nice restaurent called Hogwarts, it is opposite the Magic Roundabout Pub, Again food was excellent. On the all I found The Terralta Apartments a bit disappointing. All they have to do is get some good entertainment going and change the menu and serve food all day instead of stupid times they dictate. I would not like to recommend these apartments and would not go back again. We was with a party of Thirteen and all off us had the same opinion on this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours - Aug 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : Yorkshire (45,41,13,10) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Holiday from 22 Aug - 2 Sept 2006. Beware of these dates if you book as the Spanish also take their holidays. Boat loads of Spanish tourist in Benidorm all walking around but going no-where especially in the OLD TOWN. Fantastic Apartments.... Always book apartments and Terralto the BEST by far. Apartments are spacious and really clean. We stayed in the reception block overlooking the reception (rm 1119) and a quiet area. Shower and a bath and the water was constantly hot. All staff are excellent and friendly. Hotel Manager is very efficient and speaks brilliant English. Bar staff do a great job and are nice to talk to. Happy hour 8.30 - 9.30 pm each day (2 4 1) but not on cider. Food at Apartments is very good with a nice selection. The english breakfasts are especially tasty. Can't comment on the entertainment as we went into either New/Old Benidorm every night. * Only negative was apartments are quite a way from the New Town and spent a fair bit on 2 x taxi's every night (£120 in 11 nights) but worth it to us NOT to be in the very centre of Benidorm during the day* Book taxi's from reception, only costs 20C and easy to taxi back late at night. Sunbeds chained up until (9am) everyday which is great (you still got the idiot who comes down at 9am reserves 10 beds then the whole party don't surface until lunchtime)... All english sorry to say. You can purchase a pad for the sunbeds at reception for 1 euro a day or 5 euro's for the week, these are a must - very comfortable. No inflatables are allowed in the pool, only small children with rings - lifeguard on duty and stops if you try. This is excellent as older children and adults don't start jumping/diving when they have had too much to drink regardless of others. Reps have pool games most days and killer pool etc. if you want to join in - no pressure. Supermarket on site is good - not too expensive as other reviews suggested. Fantastic games room for the children, loads of games to keep them happy. Our 13 year old got washed and changed early each night & played pool with kids his age until we got ready...Really safe environment. Also approx 4 internet points next to reception which were always in use. Waterpark good fun, our children loved the day, got tickets from reception which are cheaper then jumped in a taxi. Theme Park was OK for one of our children but the other was not tall enough.... They are strict about height. The apartments made for a relaxing holiday during the day and New Benidorm was great for night from bucking brono's, crazy golf, bungee jumping, trampoling and great pubs (too many to mention).. best of all worlds. Dodging 'Sticky Vicky' is an art, she can turn up anywhere - read the boards outside the pubs (NOT FOR CHILDREN EYES) She works from 11pm - 5am. Terralta Apartments are for you if you want nice accomodation and not be in the centre of Benidorm. ENJOY ... WE ARE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays August 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : Liverpool (40,35,10,5) Resort Rating: Poor Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: This is the first time we have been to Benidorm and I am sorry that we actually paid money to go to such a dirty, tacky and unfriendly place. The apartments were clean, however we did see a number of cockroaches, one by the dart board in the bar was so big it was calling out the scores!! The resort was awful, dirty, cockroaches everywhere, saw one crawling on a mans back in a bar! bins overflowing, beggers everywhere, third rate acts, the locals were mostly unfriendly and down right rude, the staff in the apartments were the only pleasant ones we encountered. We are a young family and there was very little for the children to do, very adult orientated, the entertainment in the apartments, well they tried their best! Would never go to Benidorm again, very disappointing trip, we went home early it was so bad! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours August 06 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : Shaun Gibbons - Hull (36,33,15,5)): Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Just got back from two weeks at Terralta Apartments. Apartments spacious & very clean. We was located at the back of block two and was often woken up in the early hours by barking dogs as the apartments are in a residential area. The pool was lovely and large and had no problems getting a sun lounger in a morning. The main complaint was the food was not very good at all, very basic and they would only serve certain foods at certain times of the day. The bar was okay but had no atmosphere. And after midnight the bar closed so you had no where to drink which i thought was totally daft, usually you was just getting going then. Ended up drinking on the balcony a few times with friends as they was no where else to go. The entertainment was not very good, this is why we went out every night. Around the old town which is about a 30 minute walk is nice, loads of small bars and restaurents. Best places for meals Sherry's, which is located on the Plaza, very good home made english food, curry nights excellent. Another nice place Antonios Restaurent, just as you come into the old town, really nice foods. Best place on the Levante end to eat is Hogwarts opposite the Magic Roundabout pub. This is by far the best food in Levante, all the others are mainly burger and chip joints. As to the steep hill, first part very steep, rest not to bad, but by the end of two weeks had enough of walking it. Overall good holiday but the food and the bar let the place down badly --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - August 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : S J Gardner - Isle of Man 37, 9, 7 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Terralta Apts were very clean and well maintained. This was the first time I'd taken my young family to a complex which was not exclusively for families. Don't go to Terralta if you want an early night! I made the mistake of paying for a room with a pool view - big mistake! The entertainment programme continues until after midnight, making it impossible to get to sleep before then. Once the entertainment has finished there was a tendency for resident teenagers to hang around the kids' playground near the pool. Then there would be a constant trail of people wandering through tne corridors - I was woken a number of times by people returning home at 3 in the morning and playing the game of 'knock and run' on apartment doors! Other than the sleepless nights issue, Terralta Apts were good enough - a little bit away form the action, but cheap enough to get a taxi. The entertainment was a bit limited, but I like to get out and about at night time so that didn't really affect me. Ditto, the food was limited on site - and only available til 9 at night. The kids club was good. The pool was lovely, but beware of the teenage boy life guard - bit of a kill joy and a stickler for the pool rules! The old town is lovely, especially the Harbour and the area on the outcrop where there are artists at work. There was a nice Chinese Restaurant on the old Harbour near the white doves park, but I can't remember what it's called! In the new town, there are lots of nice (non British) restaurants - Toscanna was particularly good, with Spaniards actually queuing up to get a table! The beach front of the new town is also interesting to wander through at night time - lots of vibrant bars and restaurants. Benidorm is a vast, busy resort but well worth a visit. Take a map though, and do your research before you go to save a lot of wandering round aimlessly! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours - Aug 06 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Shirelle McAlister (32,32,19,14,11,9 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: This is a lovely place to stay at. It is very clean and the staff are really pleasant. The swimming pools are great. The out-door one is very big and has a life-guard on at all times. The ENTERTAINMENT is a NON-EXISTANT. It was the worst I have ever experienced in my whole life. THERE HAVE BEEN HAPPIER FUNERALS. It is not like any other place where they do dancing and games for children no they do quizzes which you would need to be in mensa to have a chance. They advertise karaoke but only three children get a chance to sing as everything is timed to 1 hour and by the time they set up its almost over. It is UNBELIEVABLE. Our kids spent their time in the appts watching dvds or on the internet. Even the youngest one would rather go to bed than watch what they had to offer. The thing is these appts have the potiental to be excellent if only they would change the ENTERTAINMENT REPS. It wasnt just us who felt like this EVERYONE we talked too said the same thing. If you wanted to be entertained you had to go elsewhere. The appts are situated at the top of a very steep hill in the old side of benidorm. Walking down to the beach/shops/pubs is not too bad but trying to get back again is a NIGHTMARE. The buses is meant to run every hour but they never come half time and the taxis are out to rob you. Some times the taxi would charge you 6 or 7 euros to go to the new town then other times they want 12 to 15 euro. Only 4 people to a taxi so we needed 2 no matter where we were going. (After one week we noticed a big whole in our money) VERY CLEAN APPARTMENTS - VERY GOOD POOL - VERY GOOD GYM - RESTAURANT NOT BAD - SHOP GOOD - ENTERTAINMENT TERRIBLE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - August 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Cath Bailey - Sheffield (38, 36, 14, 13) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Just got back from two weeks at the Terralta Apartments, which are excellent, very well equipped, and very clean. The pool is excellent and no problems getting sun loungers at any time during the day. We went into the New Town most evenings, which is walkable - takes about 30 mins - or you can get the number 8 bus directly outside the apartments. We usually got the bus or a taxi back at the end of the night (beware the last bus is 10 o'clock from New Town and did not always turn up!) - taxi costs around 5-6 euros. Plenty of places to eat to suit all tastes - our favourites were Pride of Yorkshire, Duke of Wellington and Grand National - excellent food and good prices. Aqualandia is great fun, even if you don't like going on the big slides. We went by taxi there and back (8 euros each way) and got some discount tickets on the gate - this worked out cheaper than the Direct Holidays excursion). Terra Mittica also a good day out, and it was surprisingly empty, so no queueing for rides. We went with Direct Holidays for this one as it was cheaper than paying on the gate. We took a cool bag and then found out that no food/drink is allowed inside (although we sweet-talked the lady on the gate into letting us take it in!) We only had one complaint about the apartments, and this would only affect anyone to the rear of Blocks 2 and 3. There are residential properties, and a new house being built. In one (or more) of these properties, there are dogs which insist on barking in the early hours of the morning - very annoying to get woke up early when on holiday! Don't let the hill put you off, yes, it is fairly steep, but take it slowly and you'll be fine (I managed and I've got a bad hip!) Terralta mini-market a bit pricey - use the supermarket on the left at the bottom of the hill. Overall a great holiday in fantastic apartments. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - July/Aug 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : Helen, Matt, Ash & Aaron (34,33,14,8) Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: The Terralta appartments are excellent. They are spacious, very very clean and tidy and only 3 storeys high. The pool is great and their are enough sunbeds for all (although us british are getting as bad as the germans!!) The reception staff are very friendly and the bar staff are fantastic. The breakfasts are fab, set you up for the whole day. The entertainment is the only thing that lets the Terralta down. The kids spent so much time in the games room or playing pool. The supermarket on site doesn't have much choice. There is a great supermarket down the bottom of the hill before you get into the old town opposite the hotel acapulco. The beaches in both the old and new town were brill (cleaned every day). They had football and volley ball nets, climbing frames etc and in the sea there was a platform to swim too and dive off. The harbour area was lovely aswell. I wasnt that impressed with alot of the bars and restuarants in the new and old town because they looked dirty. We tried the Duke of Wellington, Tony Romas (excellent)and the Arena on the sea front in the new town and all meals were lovely and all places clean. We tried a few in the old town that were nice too. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the resort as a whole and probably wouldn't rush back because of that but I would definately recomend the Terralta appartments. The Mundomar was great for the kids and even us big kids enjoyed it. We watched the dolphin show twice and the kids had their photo's taken with a dolphin and were thrilled to bits. It is all up hill but they have loads of shaded areas and fans that spray cool water as you are walking around (fab idea). The sealion show was brill too and the kids got their pic taken with sea lion too. We spent the whole day there. Dont book via reps, just get a taxi and pay when you get there because we got coach and would have been just as cheap to get a taxi and could of stayed longer. Terra Mitica was excellent for teenagers who like theme parks. Lots of big rides, not alot of queuing. Good day out for all, with plenty to keep you entertained. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays july 06 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : chris, sarah, jack stroud (31,32,5) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Opinion: just arrived home after 2 weeks in the terralta. the apartments are lovely and spotless. the pool area is great the sunbeds are not put out till about 9am, and we always got a sunbed, beware you few people who leave your towels on the sunbeds till late afternoon they will be removed (this happened when we were there)which we agree with. However, the Terralta apartments were spot on. Beware that you do have to pay thirty euros per person on arriving as a deposit which you get back on check out (returned in Euros so save your airport spending for the return journey). The rooms are very spacious and immaculately clean, the pool area always had sunbeds and staff there did all they can to ensure people didnt reserve them with towels then disappear for the day. The food menu had lots of variety, i particularly enjoyed the lasagne and my boyfriend says the Terralta burger beats a big mac anyday (but avoid the steak pie and potatoes as this means your typical fish shop pie and chips)! Entertainment was a bit of a bore with bingo and kareoke almost every night and the Terralta is on a big hill which is fine to walk DOWN, although this doesnt have to be a problem as the No: 8 bus goes by 25 past every hour right outside the apartments and for just one euro it will take you anywhere in the resort. In and around the resort is quite tacky...sticky vicky does about five bars a night (the stinker!). Food is varied - if you like ribs the best place to eat is Tony Aromas, the original baby back ribs are delicious and plenty of it. Plato Laqerdo, the chinese is very nice and will fill you up for the week. Its a small place near the harbour. Direct holidays were not very good as a tour operator and turned up late for every excursion...they were almost one hour late once and didnt even inform us (we thought we were the forgotton few!). Also, spike the rep failed to put our excursion tickets under our door as promised and we had to hunt him down. He was never at his desk OR by the pool as his note said :-(. With regards to excursions we went to the wild west, benidorm palace and noahs arc. all were very entertaining and should be for the money. Noahs arc is heartbreaking as the animals there have been rescued from circus etc and many have longterm effects. We and others got a little confused with the benidorm palace excursion as our trip didnt include a meal and drinks whereas the posters all said dinner and show. Our rep decided to tell us on the way there that dinner was optional at fifteen euros extra (too little too late). And even at the very end of the holiday the reps let us down, they were late for our transfer to the airport which meant huge queues and immediate departure (no time for shopping or eating). The apts are great, very spacious with everything you need. We got a room on lower ground facing a brick wall, did complain and are still waiting for our rep to get back to us!! The pool is great and our girls loved this which was just as well as there was nothing for their age group at the apartments. just wish I could say they enjoyed the entertainment but this was non existent. If these apts had decent evening entertainment this would be an excellent place to stay. The staff are brill and nothing is too much bother for them. There is a hill up to terralta and although we didnt have a prob with the 10min climb, there would be a problem if you had younger kids or were not reletively active. Benidorm is a very lively resort with plenty to do. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: Booked direct with apartments - June 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : Steve+Elaine - Perth (30,30) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Just arrived back from the Terralta Apartments. On arriving in the bus at the apartments, initially a wee bit disappointed by the outside, very basic looking, almost like lots of boxes stuck together. On entering, everything looked extremely clean, and it was. It certainly wasnt basic inside, everything still looking new. (They are 4 years old this week!) The reception were very quick to check us in, and spoke excellent english. I had read previous reviews about it being noisy on the outer facing apartments when young lads ride around on their motorbikes, so requested a pool view room which was given to us. The music during the evening, which is loud, is played up until midnight, so if you have a pool facing room, forget about sleep til then! The apartment itself was as big as I have stayed in on holiday, except luxury in Dubau and Mauritius, and spotlessly clean. Separate bedroom from the lounge area and air conditioning worked well. Large living room area with open kitchen. Large fridge/freezer, micro, everything you would need to live in. Only 2/3 English speaking TV channels but you dont go on holiday to watch TV! We couldn't find anywhere in the complex that was dirty, always plenty people tidying up, all the time! The apartments were full to our knowledge, but even going down mid afternoon to the pool we always got a sun lounger. Food is pretty basic in the complex and we ate out every night, but whatbwe had during the day was good enough. The drinks etc from the bar were reasonably priced, around 1.50 Pounds for a pint of lager. If you are going here and you enjoy staying at your apartments for the evening entertainment, you will be disappointed, it is awful. The stage appears to be a few boxes stuck in the corner of the pool area with the same music played each night, but we went out most nights so it didnt effect us too much. It is around a 10 minute want to the beach, all downhill going there and very pleasant. My wife was 27 weeks pregnant when we went and we walked back up at night and sometimes during the day, every day except one, when it was too hot. A taxi only costs about 5 euros in any case if you dont want to walk it. Could not really falt the apartments to be honest except the entertainment and that seemed to be the case with most people we spoke to. It is used by mostly brits, with a mix of couples young and old and families with kids etc. The kids club seemed to go down well with the wee ones. I would use the apartments again if I go back to Benidorm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: independent - June 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : 44 34 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: agree wth all the other reviews xcept the bit of a hill fine on the way down but long drudge up dont tackle it if you smoke or after a night of spanish measures so allow plenty for taxis. good for families(bit noisy if older or hate kids) staff realy friendly, take a day to visit terra mitica theme park (carnt comment on july/aug)but get there for 10 and youll have all the big rides to yourself a tip for independent travelers found a very good airport transfer. resort care&destination services email resortcare.info airport to beidorm for 30e pp return that beats the 118e taxi fare --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - June 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : A Whitlam - Leeds (39, 32, 18 months) Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Just returned from 1 week at the Terralta apartments and I have to say the apartments must be the best I have ever stayed at. The accomodation is truley 4 star!! The only problem is tehre location, its a fair old hike down to the shops and bars in the old town, about 20 mins I reckon down and back up you wouldn't even attemp it in the hot weather. We hired a car so didnt have that problem, but what I would say is be very carefull where you park in the town centre.....the traffic wardens are on watch from 9am in the morn to 10pm at nightime....and they are very very keen indeed!!! Down one street in Benidorm new town near Levante Beach we counted 30 parking tickets within a 5 minute walk to the beach....and that was only on one side of the road!!! We worked out you have to pay for parking between 9am-1pm, and then between 5pm-9pm.....we only know all of this becuase we got a ticket ourselves at 8pm at night thinking it was free!!! The entertainment in the apartments was ok I supose on an evening, but whilst we were there we had Yoman a young Spanish lad and his mum doing dances up on the stage and then after the dancing session they made all of the guests do party games....ie how many shoes can you collect from guests...then it got interesting...how many undies can you collect from chaps and bra's from ladies!! We had our little girl with us and to be honest some people had older children there too...most of the people with kids moved on inside to the bar area with the kids...in fear of loosing their pants!!! Then one bloke was up on stage doing a striptease...!! The following evening we were told that Yoman and his mum had moved on to a different hotel and wouldn't be returning, so in place of them they had recruited two ladies to do all of the entertainment....I have to say they were really nice, very plesant and a lot more family orientated with the entertainment they were providing. We had Bingo, pop quiz's, karioke etc. The entertainment finishes at midnight which is good if your trying to get to sleep in your apartment. We had one that overlooked the pool area...which was lovley but noisy with the music. Then of course you had the drunks that decided it would be very funny to throw themselves into the pool at 1pm in the morning...then reception came on the loud speaker tanyoy telling them to get out of the pool....in the meantime waking up all of the guests..... But all in all its been a good holiday, I wouldn't personally go back to Benidorm because I thought it was a slightly scruffy place, too much graffiti on the walls of buildings for me.... but I know lots of people really love the place. We had a car and managed to get out and about and drove to other places.... Alicante was quite nice...if you manage to avoid the street beggers!!! But all in all the Terralta was a very friendly apartment block, staff were great, cleaners were fab...three times a week with towel change. Very nice indeed, but Benidrom was not for my family, I much prefer Menorca or Majorca....a bit more upmarket I think!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - June 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : mr mrs a bennet - 42 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: went 17th june to 24th june had an excellent time would recommend to anyone who wanted to go all the staff were great and would go in a minute also thankyou to dircet holidays and real radio for winning a fab holiday --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: Direct - May 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : H Peacock - Middlesbrough (36, 7) Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: The accommodation was excellent. Also runs during those hot hours when you want to keep them out of the sun but want to keep your self in it - nice one. Hotel staff very friendly. The only SLIGHT problem is the location - it is a bit steeper than a "slight incline" and you have to psyche yourself up to "pop" to the main supermarkets. There is a very well stocked supermarket on the premises and a lovely English lady that works there. Staff in general were really friendly and helpful. The pool is massive and has a life guard all day which is good (and unusual!). We went mid-May and there were a few kids running around but it never got noisy or unbearable. This was our first holiday with our baby (well, 15months) and we could not have asked for a better or safer place for her. The Direct Holidays creche crew were FANTASTIC! Carol, Debbie & two Lindsay's. Only 10 euro's for 2 hours for babies over 1 year old - it is the first time I had left Abi with anyone apart from family and they were great. We booked direct again with no fuss and even got a repeat customer discount! Weather was really good with most days 23-25c. The Terralta have added a few little extra touches, like quiet back ground music round the pool, extra large parasols at the end of the pool near the bar entrance. I can give a difinitive answer about the hill! It is no problem walking down, and in fact it is quite a pleasant walk as the apartments are situated in a quiet residential area and the walk to the old town takes you past the local primary school. The journey back is a different story! Especially if you have walked around the resort all day/night! Taxi's are cheap, about 5-6 euros from practically anywhere in Benidorm back to the Terralta. A really good Chinese to try is the Plato Laquerdo(not sure about the spelling) It's just back from the Harbour on the edge of the old town. We are one of those group who like nothing better than walking about with nothing to do and all day to do it.With a bit of patience when we decided to go further afield and used the local buses, no problem anywhere for 1 euro within Benidorm district. Accomodation, now lets get this straight, these apartments are 400 metres from the edge of town and tons of shops, you choose, and a further 100 metres to the Med! What more do you want? The hill they all talk about is a waste of breath a right Pussy and i am a smoker. So 5mins down hill and 10 mins up,whats the rush? I did it every day sometimes twice idiot. Now the apartments please remember that they are apartments and not a hotel so what do you want? First class in every aspect you will not find any better spotless right down to the pools and surrounding areas.Shop is well stocked for essentials.Meals, good breakfast and value, main meals crap but then i am a fussy eater. Entertainment crap but i did not expect them to entertain us so we entertained our selves and so should you. Will we go back yeh why not same apartments yeh why not. Cafe/bar a bit basic, could do with revamping into something more traditionally spanish. Entertainment tired (just like the entertainers sounded). Ideal if you like it quiet although it would have been nice if there were a couple of bars just outside instead of 5-10 minutes walk down the hill. Went to Terra Mitica one evening (it's open till 1 am) and Visually stunning. A beautiful place - the down side was that it was full of ignorant Spainards (yes I know it's Spain) but we were out numbered about 10 - 1. Consequently it it tailored for the Spanish. If you don't know your myths and legends you feel a bit out of it as there is no translation. The water rides we good though you do get very wet. Also the minotaur ride - a bit like Men in Black in Florida lots of shooting. Places to eat - Tony Roma's, for Tapas the one opposite the Queens in Old Town (full of Spanish a good sign. The boys liked the steak pie in Sherrys, top of the hill in Old Town. Best Bar - Jail Rock in New Town the y were the friendliest bar staff we found. For Tributes see Pete Loaf - Brilliant, Francisco Jackson - Magic and Michael Jackson, Young lad who does Robbie and the Blues Brothers. We were recomended the apartments by family and these lived up to expectations. The apartments were very roomy and clean. All you need for self catering and we ate in the appartments most evenings due to lively little one. Pool is good for kids as well as adults and had a life guard on duty from about 10.00am to early evening. Plenty of sunbeds around pool an there was no need to leave towels on beds early in the morning. Separate indoor pool for adults only for a quiet swim if required. Also Fitness room and steam room for working off the night before. Staff were frendly and spoke good english both in Bar and reception. Good childrens club/creche with Holiday Reps. (10 Euros for 10 - 12 creche which we used a couple of times). Seemed to be more reps looking after the kids than there were kids at times which was good. Reps were very frendly and not at all pushy about trying to get you on trips etc. They were happy to leave you alone if you wanted. Food in Bar was OK but nothing fancy. Typically english meals in apartments such as Burgers, Chips, Lasagne, Pizza, Curry, English Breakfasts etc etc. Good bar San Miguel, Amstel, John Smiths, Guiness on draft. Happy hour every day (2 for 1) between 8.30 and 9.30. During day the bar served meals/snacks either inside or take away for eating at poolside. In-house entertainers (Nati and Indio) kept both adults and kids busy day and night. Entertainment every night in separate room to next to the bar which consisted of keeping kids happy for a couple of hours (face painting, drawing, dancing etc) before adult fun later (bingo, party games, quizes etc) Entertaiment basic but free of charge. Downstairs play area for kids with kiddie rides, pool tables, video games etc. Entertainment stopped at 12.00 which is good for a quiet holiday. Some nights Entertainment brought in such as Parrot shows, Funny acts etc. Apartments up a hill which is about 10 mins walk down to nearest Bars, Restaraunts, and further 5 mins to beach. Therefore vey quiet at night. Walked home a couple of times but got Taxi also. Bus stop directly outside appartments which takes you to otherside of benidorm (Levante) for 90 cents each (60p). Kids under 3 free. Ideal for young families if you want to spend all night in apartments without the hustle and bustle of Benidorm centre. Stating that, very easy to get to nightlife if you want. Best apartments stayed in so far and would definately go back in future. Cannot fault the appartments or complex other than a little out the way if you fancy a quick drink somewhere different. Plently to do in Benidorm such as Terra Mitica (Theme Park mini Alton Towers) which I understand is not really worth going with a two year old but great for older kids. Went to Mundomar which consists of Seal lion show, parrot show and Dolphin show. The dolphin show is not to be missed. Mundomar including travel cost 21 Euros each (£15)(Adults) little one went free all day 10 - 5pm. Also a water park and Nature park within Benidorm so along with all the usual Bars etc plenty to do. Will need to go to benidorm again as no chance to see everything in one holiday. Beaches (both Poniente & Levante) are very big and very clean. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - September 2005 Opinion submitted in Oct 2005 by : Susan, Kevin, Stephen (age 10) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Just returned from a week in the Terralta Apartments. The apartmetns were spotless to say the least, very clean pool area. Having the life guard on duty from 9am till 6pm made things a little easier and you were able to relax a bit more. Staff very friendly and fluent English spoken. Supermarket a bit pricey and only stocked the bare essentials at that, remember the opening times 9am till 2pm then they close until 5pm - (lunch time just when you need them most.) Bar food was really good for a change. Pint was 2 Euros, small Coke 1.5 Euros. The brochure said the apartments were up a hill - and hill that was. We walked it most days, going down was easy, but take the oxygen mask for getting back up especially in the tempretures we had which were averaging around 35o still Hot!!! Taxi to the old town approx 5 Euros. A few excellent restraunts in the old town Panneils and The Two Palms - find the Ale Hop (which is a furniture shop)!!!at the taxi rank and turn right then second on the right again. "Calle De La Palma 30" you will get a fantastic three course meal with up to 12 different starters, mains and sweets. Everything from Paella to Fillet Steak is on there YumYum!!!you won't beat it. The old town is certainly quiter than the new which was sometimes a relief at times. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays-september 2005 Opinion submitted in Oct 2005 by : l lloyd (37,36,10,6 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Just got back from the terralta appartments, they were excellent, the pool was excellent, but a bit cold, the food in the restraunt was good, try the ham omelette, with chips for 3 euro,a very decent portion aswell, the kids clubs were good,a variety of games for the kids to play, evening entertainment was poor, but the young girl nat did try her best, people mention the hill, what hill, try going puerto rico, thats a hill, joke apart, there was nothing to it,walked back and to up it all week, found an excellent place for food in sherrys bar, alot of traditional english food,at excellent prices, we tried the aqualand for the day,it cost us 64 euro for the day, well worth it,but when you get in there it can be a big rip off,you have to hire rings, and sunbed, just use the sunbeds for nobody came around to check, there was even a market about 400 metres from the hotel, well worth a look at,another bar we found cheap was marcos about half a mile down the hill,a pint of san miguel for only 1.40 euro, cant wait to go again, but dont be put off by that hill --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - Sept 2005 Opinion submitted in Sept 2005 by : b lewis manchester Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: The Terralta apartments are a fantastic place to stay , it was me and my partners first time to benidorm and i must say its the best holiday i have had , the apartments are spotless and very modern , we went self catering and every thing you needed to cook with was in the apartments , (we never cooked as it was very cheap to eat out) the apartment has a television, telephone, hairdryer, all cooking utensills , large fridge freezer,2 sofa beds table and chairs (also on balcony) 2 twin beds, shower (best ive ever used) towels and linen changed twice in the 7 nights we were there , fantastic large pool with kids area . bubble spa and a indoor pool , also for 3 euro a day you can use the fitness gym and steam bath , drinks at the hotel were cheap and so was the food , i am a fussy person and could not find any fault with this complex , all members of the staff were very very helpfull, the entertainment was the usual kids disco 8 till 9 , then bingo , kareoke, the entertainment manager was lovely and very freindly . as we went on the 10/09/05 there was not many kids there , but the ones that were there seem to be having a fab time , as they have a kids club ect , i am looking to book again in march as we had a wonderfull holiday and will definately be going back to the terralta. if your not sure on where to stay, i guarentee you cannot fault the terralta have a fab time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: direct-aug 2005 Opinion submitted in Jan 2006 by : dave, donna and ellie(44,34,12) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: terralta appartments has everything that we need, good size pool, well furnished clean room with air con and big fridge for drinks and ice and kettle for tea in the morning.Friendly staff, decent mini market cash machine in the lobby, snack bar which does nice breakfast and snacks at lunch. No problems getting sunbeds or space round the pool to lie and relax. No problem for us to walk into main town area and only about 15 mins to the beach (past burger king)but bus stops outside apps if you dont want to walk(90c)or can get reception to order a taxi which didnt take long to arrive. The bus takes you right into the main part of benidorm with its mind boggling amount of bars, shops and resturants were you can find something to eat and entertain you whatever your preference or mood.We went to see comedians, drag artists, live music and football as the mood took us and had a good time every night. Microwave and fridge freezer were better than usually available in SC. Pool was great for all, with activities taking place in indoor pool (water polo, volleyball, water bingo??) Maria and Zac did there best to entertain day and night. The rep show on sunday night was great, got hammered for free courtesy of reps. Kids club was good, my 3YO really loved it and spent hours with the kids club. The staff were very friendly, great with the kids, the food is quite good and very reasonably priced. The entertainment is okay but we would tend to go out and about every other night as there are loads of nice restuarants near by. Try the Manchester at the bottom of the hill for a great breakfast. There is a kids club and hotel run entertainment for the kids which was really good. The pool is a great size never felt over crowded and always got a sunbed as they are not put out till about 9.30am. The appartments are excellent and as described in the Direct Holidays brochure. Location; As described in the brochure the appartments are at the top of a hill but to be honest it didn't hinder our holiday. We walked a coupe of times and on the other occassions we got a taxi back. The bus stops diectly outside the appartments and runs ever hour from 09:25 into the old or new town. The complex; The complex is of an exteremely high standard. The appartments are large, well furnished and air conditioned. The pool area is cleaned every morning and the sunbeds are not put out until 09:00 (stops the six oclock rush). The are plenty of sunbeds and some were always available during our stay. The pool is very good with a walk in section and spa. The only slight downside is the pool is salt water, which isn't my cup of tea but after a couple of days we didn't notice it. A life guard operates most of the day. The bar area is clean and reasonably priced. The food offered is a good standard and although we only had a day time snack the meals at night appeared Ok and we never heard anyone complaining. The on site shop caters for almost everything you will need and is reasonably priced. The reception is open 24 hours a day and we found the staff really helpful and always happy to speak to you. The evening entertainment was OK with some on each evening. It all finished at midnight sharp with the bar closing 30 mins later (no exceptions) which suited use. As we travelled with Direct Holidays our 4 year old was entitled to use the kids club. This is not something we usually use but the staff were brillant and he had a marvellous time. The apartments themselves are in an ideal location if you prefer somewhere a little quieter, away from the hustle and bustle of the town and the traffic. Set in a small residential part of the town, it's a small walk up a hill, which was a bit tiring if you had a buggy, but the local bus service stops right outside the apartments and runs directly into the town. So you have the choice to walk into town then get the bus back, which runs through to the early evening aswel. The staff are really friendly, the apartments are lovely, clean and bright, and pool especially is brilliant for little ones. Benidorm itself has something for all ages, plenty of bars and restaurants which allow for young kids, and the beaches are also very clean. We read the reviews about them being located at the top of a hill, but it's not too bad, although I wouldn't advise carrying 4 or 5 bags of shopping up the hill (get a taxi)- it's more of an incline than a hill. The apartments are fully equipped for self-catering purposes with all mod-cons. The apartments, pool area, reception, bar etc., were spotless. The staff were friendly and very efficient. I'd definitely stay in these apartments again. The supermarket on site is not over priced, but it would be nice if they sold fresh fruit and veg. They have a large pool area for everyone, and for those who want a bit peace and quiet away from kids, there's a pool area for adults only with a jacuzzi! The resort itself has plenty to offer for all different ages with the old town offering plenty for those who want a bit culture as well as nice places to eat. The harbour and surrounding areas are lovely. Definitely try out O'Mara's pub - great food and very reasonable - you won't be disappointed! Watch out for restaurants that don't have wine lists and recommend their wine - they'll recommend the most expensive one and you could end up paying up to 28 euros for one bottle of wine - nice wine, but not that nice!! Vincent's is another good pub although we didn't try the food in there, it was a great pub with a great atomosphere. The new town, which is about 6 euros in a taxi from Terralta Apartments, is good as well. Plenty pubs and clubs to go to. We liked the Shamrock and Cafe Benidorm - good music and a good laugh! New town a bit like any other resort though and it's not short of neon lights!! Overall though, a good place to go and such a large resort you would need to go back a few times to find you're way about! Have a nice holiday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - April 2005 Opinion submitted in Apr 2005 by : The Hills - South wales (34,33,4) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: As loads below mention, these apartments are very very good. The apartments themselves and all the other areas are spotless. Our apartment was cleaned every 3rd day which isnt ideal but better than some. An extra benefit is the fact you can get fast internet access from within the room. Get a keyboard from reception and off you go. The indoor pool was a god send as the outside pool is absolutely freezing. Plenty of loungers, no towels down, good service at the bar - ideal. Entertainment is a bit tired. We were there for 2 weeks and the kids disco in the night played the same CD over and over. Again, as mentioned, these apartments are a fair way out of town. I can imagine that would be a benefit in the summer though as Levante must be absolute chaos. I was there my wife (6 months pregnant) and my 4 year old and we walked down every now and then but usually ended up with a taxi back. The 8 bus that goes outside is great. Takes you to far end of Levante for 90 cents. Days out: Terra Mitica is brilliant. Loads for the big kids (I include myself here) and loads for the littler ones. Get your tickets from reception for a 10 Euro discount. Mundomar is OK but not enough for a full day. Another good spot is the roof of the shopping centre by Carrefour. Lots of rides up there, mini golf, trampolines, soft play area as well as some good food places. The mexican was very nice. Number 12 bus from the bottom of the road will take you there. The beaches are also very good. Food: I'd go along with the reviews really. The Chinese - Pato Laquado - is excellent. Loads of choice and good house wine for 3 euros a bottle. Saki to finish at 1.50 as well. Queens is very good too. Go upstairs for a nice atmosphere but don't try to pay by visa if you're bill is less than 50 euros. They won't take it. Didn't rate O'Maras at all though. The kids play area upstairs is filthy (Everything is broke!) and the food was average at best. At this time of year, most things in the evening are very quiet, hence the reliance on the kids disco to keep the kids amused. While thats better than having people throwing up outside your door and coming in at 6 in the morning, it can get a bet dull eating out in nearly empty restaurants every night. If I went back to Benidorm I'd stay at these apartments again. Can't say fairer than that really. We were lucky enough to be allocated a double room that sleeps 6, so you can imagine the size of the apartment. Room 1218, with fantastic views over Peacock Island and the sea. Before going, i'd read about this steep incline. Now that i've been, I can honestly say, there isn't one! We walked up and down that hill with ease. A taxi into the new town costs around 6 euro and the bus stops outside the apartments every 30 minutes (service 8), and will bring you into town for 90 cents. The rooms are cleaned once a week. The maid will change your towels as often as you ask. 4 times for us. Storage space is amazing, with large fitted slinding wardrobes in each bedroom. The bathroom is huge, as was the kitchen. The balcony was a great size also. Pay per view movies are available, though we found using it slightly challenging! The staff are extremely friendly, and most of them speak very good English, especially the receptionists. There is a mini market on-site selling essentials at reasonable prices, though a larger supermarket is 10 minutes walk away with a bigger range. I only had one complaint with regards to the apartments. Looking back, it seems trivial, but at the time was annoying. I had hired a car for a few days, to find that there was only 3 residents parking spaces available in front of the apartments. I could either park round the corner in a side street, which I wasn't comfortable with, or pay 3 euro per day to use the underground car park. Not expensive at all. My problem was this. For the entire duration of our stay, the security man insisted on using one of the 3 free spaces reserved for residents only to park his vehicle, even though he had a pass for the underground car park. He just shrugged his shoulders when I pointed this out. Anyway, if you intend on hiring a motor, you must do this one thing. Go to Valencia and visit L'Oceanografic. It's the largest marine park in Europe, and is truly breathtaking. Entrance was 21 euro each and we spent nearly 6 hours in the place. It's a 90 minute drive from Benidorm along the A7, and well worth it. Another nice spot to visit is Villa Joyosa, about 10 minutes from Benidorm. The Valor chocolate factory tour is very interesting. We went by ourselves, and were the only English speaking people there. You can book this trip through your rep, and for the above reason i'd advise you to do so if you intend on going. All in all, a fantastic holiday in fantastic apartments. If you are going to benidorm, either for the first time or returning again, i'd ask you to check the Terralta Apartments out before you decide on where to stay. You won't be disappointed! My husband and I are reasonably fit 64 and 66 year olds but the steep hill from Poniente Beach area to the School on Avenida Nicaragua is bad, both downhill and uphill. Then the Apartments are on the incline after that and to us it was a long drag when returning to Terralta. For that reason alone we wouldn't return. It could be a problem for people with pushchairs/wheelchairs and the elderly and should be so described in holiday brochures but it isn't for obvious reasons. If you manage to get a reasonably cheap holiday in the first place you should take into consideration the bus fares and taxi fares for everyone in your party on top of the holiday cost in order to enjoy your holiday without aching legs and hip joints. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: Broadway Travel - 2005 Opinion submitted in Mar 2006 by : David Green - London (29,40) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We booked the Terralta apartments through recommendations of this site, and we wern't disappointed. As for Benidorm, I wouldnt go back, It is BIG very BIG and the English Square is rough with PR's everywhere! I've been to many places and this was by far the worst. The old town, where hotel is, is great, small amd quaint... Fireworks everynight and lots of small Spanish bars to go to. We would go back again to Terralta because of the accomodation but that was my first visit to Benidorm and I wasn't that impressed.Terralta is nearer the old town which to me just looked the same as the new town, only difference was the local people were all out at night.I think when we got there it was some kind of festival week which was nice,I have never seen or heard a firework display such as that in my life i think it was something to do with symbolising a battle and thats exactly what it was like. we were on the road train at the time and it started down at the beach it was dead exciting though! The theme park was good we caught it just as it was going off season so we went 2 days and it was really nice and clean as well. Mundamar was a good day out really enjoyed it quite expensive though. We also found a nice english pub I think it was called Sherrys it was at the top of the cliff right down at the harbour in the old town. You go up the steps and its in a courtyard area food was excellent and not expensive. Would definately go back to Terralta if I was visiting Benidorm in the future.Forgot to say the staff were great, very friendly,English really good from the reception staff especially. They do a diamond job and nothing is too much bother. Keep up the high standards Terralta. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator and Date: Direct Holiays - August 2004 Opinion submitted in Mar 2005 by : The Clarke Family - Nth Lincolnshire (44, 43, 16, 14 ) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We visited Benidorm for the second time last August and stayed at the Terralta apartments for the first time. We enjoyed our holiday at the Terralta so much we have booked again for this August! The girls are both taking a friend this time so we have booked two apartments. The apartments are very clean and spacious and the staff very friendly and helpful. We found the chinese restaurant mentioned in other reports to be very cheap and cheerful, we went twice and the first time ordered far too much as the portions are much bigger than at home! There are lots of little tapas bars in the old town and it is well worth the walk to find them. The apartments are on an incline which wasn't a problem for us and the walk home was a good way of working off the extra calories which we comsumed. We are looking forward to our holiday this year and would certainly recommend the Terralta Apartments to anyone else thinking of visiting Benidorm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terralta Apartments - Benidorm Operator a |
