Benidorm Hotels and Apartments F - F Fenecia Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: Fly Globe Span Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Mary Horsburgh - Gorebridge (41,38,13) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: We went to this hotel on the 4th July 2006. this hotel is not for the British as it more for the Spanish, the food was dreadful, there was a pool but this was indoors there is a roof pool but for children under 10 the staff that run the roof bar and the piano bar was great. there was also a lot of rooms broken into at the time when we where there. The kids club was more for Spanish children I know all children should mix but my daughter did not understand what they where saying as they did not translate into English so she could not join in with the games. The room was big enough for us and the air-con was good. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fenecia Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: October 2005 Opinion submitted in Nov 2005 by : Dodi-Derby (67,54,40,39,39,36,35,35,35) Resort Rating: Below Average Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: We went as an all adult group to this hotel in Oct 2005. The hotel in itself was very clean and the rooms were of a 3* rating nothing special but comfortable. However what we did not realise at the time of booking was for a group of British people how far away we were from the British entertainment. There is a constant barage of noise coming from the over 60 Spanish club that come in their droves to this hotel. It left you with a constant headache (nothing to do with the all inclusive booze). The only escape was to get to the roof terrace to only find that the bar up there was closed because they are short staffed. Don't try the lifts as you will be killed in the Spanish stampead so down the 7 flights of stairs to get a drink (who needs the gym!) I will say though that the spirit measures in the bar where generous, I think there was a policy of getting you smashed as soon as possible then get you out the way (ok by me) The food was awful, a word of warning if you miss the alotted meal times do not be tempted to use the snack bar facility as I can tell you from personal experience a day in bed with S&D is guaranteed as all the food in the snack bar was previously cooked for the meal time, which could have been 4 hours earlier. In summary use it as a base, enjoy the booze and get a taxi into town. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fenecia Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours May 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Mel 22 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: I stayed in the Fenicia for my birthday in May 2004. The resort is horrible, as the hotel is in the old town there isnt much there at all and after 3 days you are bored. All that is there is english style pubs, there isn't much to do for days out etc. The hotel on first impressions is nice but the food is terrible, the entertainment was crap and i didn't see the rep once. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fenecia Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours march 2004 Opinion submitted in Mar 2004 by : Amanda Davis Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: I had a fantastic week at the Hotel Fenicia in Benidorm. I booked a few weeks before and i got a fully inclusive holiday for three hundred pounds. The accomadation was very i could use the facilities of another 7 hotels. The food was excellect and good value for money i didnt spend much drinking. THe hotel has a lovely roof top terrace bar that has fantastic views over Benidorm and it was a nice suntrap. The crystal park hotel was very good also the only thing was the entertainment wasnt very good it was for older people. But a taxi in to town was only 4 euros i used to have a few drinks then get a taxi and sak for the square this is where the nibht life is. An excellent holiday and i shall look forward to returning soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fenecia Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: own arrangements - 2004 / 2005 Opinion submitted in May 2005 by : david storr lincs 54 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: i booked the holiday on the internet flights easy jet from east midlands (very good) transfers with resort hoppa (very good service we used them in lanzarote ). hotel by a firm called wadebay (very efficient) we picked the hotel because we liked the idea of beig able to use others in the group.the hotel is in the old town a lovely place to stay it was about 100yds from the beach it has 7 floors with a roof top sun terrce and bar excellant views across the bay.it is 3 stars our room had a good bathroom the bedroom was tired the balcony looked out of a side street. the staff were excellant could not be faulted.the hotel was full of spanish pensioners all very polite and friendly. the food was average the menus were the same in all the groups hotels we went to the cristal park for evening meals it seemed to cater for the british there seemed to be a lot of extras that the fenicia did not have eg chips better deserts.we used the villa del mar, magic monika and rock gardens for midday meals very good. the rock gardens is at the north end of the resort up a steep hill. the del mar is across a busy main road from the beach . the magic is at the south end of the resort.they have a free bus which goes around all the hotels 4 times a day use it on your first day to get your barings.the villa venecia and rock benidorm were shut being done up. we used the bus and train both clean and efficient.on the train at weekends you can buy a tourist tiket for 6 euros give unlimited travel for both days it goes from alicante to denia. the beaches were two of the cleanest i have seen cleaned at night by tractor the resort itself was very clean well policed and seemed very safe. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hotel Fenicia - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Aspro Discounts) Aspro - February 2004 Opinion submitted in Mar 2004 by : Beverly and Robin, 57 & 53 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: This was our third visit to the Fenicia. All the bedrooms had been refurbished and were excellent. We found that the food was not as good as previous years, but does that matter as you can eat at many other hotels, which we did. The food at the Villa de Mar, and Crystal Park was superb. My main fault was the staff. Most of them never smiled all week and were not at all friendly (I maybe noticed this because my previous holiday was on an Airtours Cruise) However, this has not put us off, and we will be there again next year, all being well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: Aspro - June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Sophie and Rachel - Huddersfield (21, 20) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: After reading some of the reviews about this hotel we didn't know what to expect but it was brilliant! The rooms are quite small but who goes on holiday to sit in their room all day? The bathroom was lovely and clean. We had a balcony overlooking the road which didn't cause any problems. The worst rooms were those overlooking a small courtyard, but even so, had we been given one of these rooms we would not have complained. There are safety deposit boxes in the rooms which i have no idea how it is possible to steal as someone said earlier!!! The rooms are clean and the maids come every day. The pool area was nice, sometimes a bit crowded but it was easy enough to get a sunbed before 10am. The beach is only a 10 minute walk if its busy. The food was lovely! I'm not a fussy eater but I don't eat anything and I considered the variety of meals really good. There was always salad, a fish, a meat, a pasta or pizza, chips, potatoes and veg. The desserts weren't up to much but they never are in spain. Breakfast was just as good. The hotel staff were all pleasant and friendly. The entertainment does start late but there is music playing all evening. We saw a magic show and flamenco which were good. I would advise people to go out and enjoy what there is to do and see in benidorm on a night anyway! As for fighting we saw none of it. There were a few spanish pensioners on their holiday but none were unpleasant, the entertainment is aimed at everybody, not just the british! It isn't in britain so surely people can understand that the food and entertainment aren't going to be purely for the british!!! Anyway, I would recommend this accommdation to anyone and would definitely return. Had a great week. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: First Choice - June 2007 Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : White - Sheffield (29,29) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: We have just returned from a short break at the Fieats Park. After reading the reviews on here before departure I have to say we were quite concerned. On arrival, we were greated by the friendly staff, who instructed us we had a meal awaiting us, which was chicken and salad, which was exellent. Our room was basic, but comfortable, apart from we were given a room bang on the corner of the stairs on the first floor, so we heard every bit of noise, also the air con only worked between 2pm and midnight, which was quite annoying as you need the air con on through the night in my opinion, but just a hint for you if you go to this hotel, take a spare credit/store card to insert into the air con, there is a small device on the wall which you need to put a card in(usually ur room key), but if you take a spare card you can leave the air con on all day. The food was very good, a good selection of food at every meal time, this included the snack times which were 3 times a day!, I think one day we ended up having 5 full meals!!!!! The entertainment was ok, a short disco for an hour then from 21.30pm for an hour is was spanish pensioners dancing time and were they out in force!!!!! Line dancing and spanish dancing, quite amusing to watch!!!!! Then at 22.30pm, they had a out side entertainment come in, we had a magic show, flamenco dancing, it was quite good. The pool was nice, always lots of sunbeds on offer, the sun makes it way all around the pool by dinner time, which can be a blessing in disguise sometimes as there are no umbrellas to use for shade, which can be a problem if you have kids. The shops and beach just a ten minute walk away. Overall we had a good time and would definetly return. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - May 2007 Opinion submitted in May 2007 by : L Bell - Gateshead tyne and wear (32,22,21,20, 19mths) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Well just got back from Fiesta park and i must say after reading these reviews i was quite nervous of what to expect. But can honestly tell all of you who are going soon or thinking of going it is absolutely lovely. We couldnt fault it, the hotel is beautiful staff are really helpful and friendly, rooms are spotless and are alot bigger than a box, food is great- big variety never cold (unless you leave it for 15mins before you eat it)bar is great too. The entertainment i must say is more for the spanish (music wise) but what can you expect you are in spain and it does actually tell you in the brochure for the hotel that it has a spanish atmosphere, but the shows that are on every night aren't just for the spanish and we really enjoyed them there was magicians, dancers, singers the lot.As for the kids my son was to young for the kids club but they do have one and it seemed to be good fun from what we saw. We really loved this hotel and would definitly go back without a doubt. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Direct Holidays) Direct Holidays - Feb 2007 Opinion submitted in February 2007 by : Frances Beech 58,59,10 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: We have just returned from a week in Fiesta Park. We did not expect it to be much after reading the comments on holidays uncovered but were plesently surprised. The room was basic but clean and average size. My grandson went in the indoor pool most days and really enjoyed it. The food was very good . In november we stayed in a 4star hotel in Benidorm and the food was not as nice as Fiesta Park. Maybe they have a new Chef, The position is perfect for the old town with its small bars. The hotel was full of Spanish pensioners who are not the best mannered people but we had no problems with them at all after all we are in there country. I say CHEERS to the Spanish government who give there pensioners a free holiday every year. I will vote for any English Politican party that would do that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: DEC 2006 JAN 2007 Opinion submitted in January 2007 by : 43,30, 4, 1, Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: me my parner and 2 sons aged 1 and 4 went to this hotel for 12 days (xmas and new year period). the hotel is the worst placed i have ever stayed in and would not recommend to anyone. on the day of our arrival we were informed by another couple that there cases had been stolen from the left luggage room and reception were not helpful. the 1st 4 nights security was called to the floor to sort out noise and fights in the early hours. entertainment started at 10.30pm every night - too late for the little ones. my 4 year old was told he had to get his own drink from the bar as you were only alowwed 1 drink per person. xmas dinner was not served until 10pm again too late for the kids. restaurant was down 2 flights of stairs and we had to carry the buggy up/down as the disabled entranced was not in use.the lifts were barely big enough to fit the buggy in let alone anyone else. we had our safe broken into on new years day along with at least 20 other guests yet again reception were not bothered and we had to call the police ourselves. the heated swimming pool was stone cold - actually warmer in the outdoor pool!! food was very repetive and other than chips not alot for the little ones. at least 30 people we spoke to whilst at the hotel went down with sickness and diarrohea (ourselves included). no water came out of the taps for nearly 20 hours. all in all the only reasonable thing i can say about the hotel is it was clean!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: Holiday Checker Ltd DEC06 Opinion submitted in December 2006 by : Bryan Williams 43,30,5,2 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: I have stayed in numerous hotels and hostels in the Benidorm area over the past 10yrs and to be honest I have stayed at better hostels in Finestrat than this hotel. I would advise any british visitor to steer well clear and rebook into a different hotel or refuse this accomodation from a tour operator. The fighting was every night and management said NOT OUR PROBLEM !!. Theft is rife in the hotel throughout,in the 12 days we was in the hotel we know of 18 people that had rooms and safes and baggage stolen and the management just shrugged there shoulders and said "" NOT OUR PROBLEM "" !!. There was no entertainment for any british adaults or children...even though the paperwork that they give you when you arrive states there is. Food was an absolute joke, christmas dinner started at 9pm and was cold burnt and disgusting, and didnt finish till 11.30pm no fun with kids, nothing for the kids to eat either.we didnt even bother with the new year meal as at 9pm they was still queing to go down. Bar staff obnoxious, management was as much use as a chocolate mug. If you are disabled then forget it,no sensible disabled facilities or access. After trying to discuss numerous problems with the manager princible she just kept shrugging her shoulders and saying !! We were a large mixed family group so you can generally 'muddle' along even if things aren't up to scratch but in my opinion this hotel wants taking out of British brochures ! During our stay coach loads of elderly Spanish turned up on a regular basis - nothing wrong with that afterall we are in Spain and the Spanish need a holiday too. However these people just did not want us or any other 'foreigners' holidaying with them. They were rude, did not want to mix at all and all the entertainment was geared towards them. We befriended the French & Dutch who seemed to be having the same problems ! ( Can you believe we actually found something in common with our French neighbours for once !) The waiter who manned the entrance to the restaurant was equally rude along with other members of staff though on the whole the receptionists, cleaners and waitresses were quite pleasant. Food was 'yuk' but then you don't go to Spain for their interpretation of our food and the hotel had little to do for any kids really. A holiday is really what you make it but take my advice - if you have booked here and can change it, do it and find somewhere else. If you can't, I hope you will be pleasantly suprised because we may have just booked that one bad week, either way have a good holiday ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook -- July 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Baz Mundy (46, 45, 15 ) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Just got back from the Fiesta Park and have to say it was a noisey experience. Having stayed at the hotel 10years ago we thought that we knew what we getting, oh no. The food was o.k. plenty of choice both am. and pm. the entertainment we did not do or the bar so we cant comment on them. the only thing wrong with this hotel is the noise. We got room no.104 first and it was beside the stairs and lifts so everyone had to pass it. We asked the rep for another room and was told to ask at reception ourselfs as she had to be somewhere else. The bloke on reception could not do enough for us even though we waited five hours we got another room at the back of the hotel, in the Spanish bit, kids playing football in the corridors and people shouting all the time. Our time after dinner on a night was spent in the new town its a nice stroll to work of your tea and its a lot cheaper. The old town has a lot of gay bars which are marked in the windows with a rainbow coloured sticker or flag outside. The local bars just out from the hotel on the main road to the beach are o.k. but the best one is bar le tunel which is in the subway to the beach, the gaffas name is Juan and everytime you get a drink he gives you a free tapas, give it a go. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (MyTravel Direct) My travel - june 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : lyndsey, helen & owen (24,26,2) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: This hotel is the worst i've ever been to. To start off we booked and paid for a room for 4 people as we had a toddler with us and thought this would give him space to potter about the room if it got too hot outside, we were given a room for 2 people that they had squeezed 3 beds into giving us no space at all. We complained to our rep who then sent us to reception, we had the paper work with us showing what we had booked and paid for but were told that because there was not 4 of us we were not entitled to a larger room and apparently toddlers don't count as people as the receptionist said there was only 2 of us. The food was not upto standard and often cold. ENTERTAINMENT or lack of it should i say, catered far too much for the spanish and older people and nothing for young children. They did have a kids club the night before we were due to leave that was supposed to be for toddlers and younger children but i would advise DO NOT let your child go. We decided that we would go to the kids club with owen so that he could have fun with the other kids but we were told that we were not allowed to stay with him and they would look after him. THEY LOST HIM, i would like to state for the record that these people are not responsible and do not look after the kids properly. Owen was 2 years old and was left wandering round the hotel on his own and was nearly out of the front door when we finally found him. When we asked the manager of the kids club what had happend she suddenly didnt speak English and couldnt understand what we were saying. I would not go back to this hotel if somebody paid me too. The rooms are small and cramped, the staff are rude, there are no decent bars nearby and lastly THEY LOSE YOUR CHILDREN. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: Excel Airways - June 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : Alice & John Finnan (58, 59) - Chester Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: Alice certainly didn't think this hotel was a palace. The room was so small you couldn,t swing a cat with no storage space whatsoever. Bar staff were rude and inconsiderate to the British especially if you were all-inclusive. I left my bag at the bar and when I returned English money and jewellery had been taken from my purse As for the food, it's a good job I enjoy a bowl of soup with a plate of salad otherwise I may have starved with the paltry offering available. No parasols available unless you hired them. But this didn,t matter as half the pool never got any sun until the afternoon. If you are over 65, enjoy accordion music with ballroom dancing and can speak fluent spanish the entertainment is for you. If you have children, forget it! There is no enterainment or supervision for any age. Overall, I would say the resort was excellent but aviod this hotel at your peril. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: easy jet - 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Miss smith Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Opinion: Lovely when the sun eventually hits the hotel (its shadowed untill about dinner time). Absolutely no entertainment unless you are a spanish oap. New kids entertainer when we were there, could not speak one word of english and didnt know any dance routines, the kids were showing her them. Food was ok.Electricity likes to cut off when drying your hair, 3 times in one night we rang to complain and the bloke came to "fix it". It continued to happen every night after that, as there were 4 girls sharing this was a complete disaster. Overall i wouldnt recommend this hotel but the new town in benidorm is lovely and the night life is great ( taxi away from this hotel). Yes the entertainement was geared towards the spansh contingent,as they were in the majority, but Benidorm is mostly geared up for the British so the hotel entertainment did not bother us. We were lucky to have selected the Fiesta week in Benidorm and I must say this was absolutley fantastic, the effort that they put into some of the floats was simply amazing and the fireworks displays throught the fiesta were something else. Although the hotel looked a little out of it it was less than a 5 minute walk to the nearest shops and watering holes,of which there are too many to mention. The only good thing was it was cleaned every day with clean towels. The hotel in general was clean the pool was dirty in the whole two weeks we were there and I never saw anyone clean it around the pool was cleaned on a daily basis, ENTERTAINMENT- If you are fluent in spanish well then you will fit in nicely because thats all it was catered for. FOOD- Not bad i've eaten and tasted worse but I can honestly say it was a fight for the queue you would think the ignorant spanish had never been fed it was like being in a zoo at feeding time. Being in the old town was quieter than we like and the shops mainly selling cheap tat, but it was a short stroll to the new town where there was plenty to do. The beaches were great and to trip to the sanctury and seaworld great for kids and adults. The only bad thing about the hotel was the entertainment after 9pm where it catered for the spanish only. The hotel did provide for the little ones with an indoor playroom and a play leader who held mini discos for kids each night with activities and face painting also on the menu. Food at this holel had to cater for english, spanish and french, so there was quite a variety but lacked sometimes in quality. It is situated at the top end of Poniente - not too bad going downhill to get to beaches, bars, etc.,but horrendous for the return journey as it is mostly uphill; worse if you like a few beers. We spent 2 weeks there early June 2005. The Staff are friendly and nice,Security is good, the rooms are clean, meals are pretty good though repetetive in the 2nd week.Entertainment is average and geared mainly for the Spanish Pensioners that stay there and come in from the street.Perhaps the managment could work out a different system to cater for these and the many Special Needs Adults as they seemed to hog the dance floor for most of the night , making it difficult for British holidaymakers with children to move or dance - maybe alternate the nightly entertainment or even hotels nearby. Please do not take this as a Pop at Special Needs as they were entertaining to watch and really had a good time-it was a pleasure to see they were really enjoying themselves. There are many Bars in both sides of Benidorm-all were reasonably priced drinks and it would be Personal choice for things like Entertainment and Nationality. Many Spanish Bars were good,so were Engish places like the Pig and Whistle, Commodoro and Maloneys,my 3 favourites. You must see the Rich Bitch Show - 3 hours of good entertainment for only 5 euros though it will close from July 16 til September. Also Dinner and Show at Benidorm Palace 40 euros good Show. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - 7th - 14th May 2005 Opinion submitted in May 2005 by : T Govan - Ayrshire Scotland (50, 31 , 9 ) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Well i just returned from my stay at the Fiesta Park Hotel in Benidorm and will tell you what its really like. Firstly on the plus side the hotel is spotless.Every day the maids come in and make your beds and replace your towels.(A good tip is any dirty towels you want replaced just leave them in the bath.)Both the outdoor and indoor pools are clean and the surrounding areas are cleaned every morning before you get up. The staff at reception are nice and will phone a taxi for you which you will need to get to the New Benidorm where all the good nightlife is which you will need because the entertainment in the hotel is AWFUL!!! It is so bad that the local spanish pensioners come to the hotel at night. So unless your over 65 and want to only listen to spanish music you will need to go to the new benidorm. The food ah the food, well its edible but you wouldnt pay for it if you were eating out!!Most people were complaining about it when we stayed there. The Animal sanctury and Mundomar day out are fantastic. My 9 year old son loved it.Terra Mitica was really good too although its not really big. When we went there werent any queues but i think they can be really big with waiting times posted in the summer. My son prefered the indoor pool as it was warmer than the outdoor pool, but you parents can sunbathe on the sunbeds while the kids splash around in there. All in all we wouldnt go back unless they changed the food and entertainment which is a shame as its a lovely hotel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Sunset Discounts) Sunset - February 2005 Opinion submitted in Mar 2005 by : Sheila Mowbray - John Goven (67,65) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: At the time we had been looking for an extra holiday and the Fiesta Park came up as a late deal - (£279 for 2 weeks h.b.) We knew the location - much further out then we were used to - we had usually been in the Levante Beach area. Unfortunately I found the holidays uncovered site after I booked the holiday and was rather put off by comments. Our views - food good, always something quite tasty, plenty of seating space Breakfast a little disappointing if you wanted an english breakfast - bacon only on the menu twice a week and not on the same morning as the fried eggs. Not really fair to grumble though - plenty of other items to choose from. Room lovely, plenty of hanging space, nice balcony and luckily for us quite high up so that when the sun was out our balcony caught it. Heated pool on 5th floor very small but a nice alternative as weather really was quite cold most of the time and i didn't see anyone to brave enough to sample the main outside pool. Weather much colder than on previous Benidorm hols- three days before our arrival it had been snowing in Altea! Towards the end of our break we had a few sunny afternoons and by this time we we had really settled in joining in dancing in the hotel, entertainment each night at 11pm was of quite a high standard and all in all we came back satisfied with our "bargaibn break" We never seem to be disappointed in Benidorm though - we get around on tne buses and trains to the other nearby resorts though I must confess we could have bought shares in the No12 bus as we used it most days and some evenings to get around Benidorm! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: February 2005 Opinion submitted in Feb 2005 by : Ann and Steve (53 , 56) Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: After reading the reviews about this hotel we were dreading going, but was surprised at the standard of the catering, food was never repeated during the week we was there, and it was of good standard, the rooms are only basic but cleaned every day and towels changed daily, the only thing we could have a moan about was the noise in the dining room when all the spanish came down to eat, it was deafening, as we went there in Feb there wasnt much in the old town open so had a long walk into the new town for decent entertainment, but if you are looking for a weeks break then dont hesitate to book here,. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: Discount Holidays - January 05 Opinion submitted in Feb 2005 by : Lorraine + Frank - Edinburgh - (Young 42,51) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: We went on a last minute break which was allocated on arrival, we have been to Benidorm numerous times but never the old town. We got dropped right outside the hotel and thought that it looked nice. It turned out to be a bit of a pain though that you have to get a lift to reception then the lift to the rooms are few and far between and very small. Our room was ok, very clean but quite small and no kettle. After one day we realised that the side of the hotel that we were on got no sun whatsoever. We asked for a room change and the reception were very helpfull and moved us the next day. The next room was bigger. The maids came daily which is a plus. We found the food to be ok but breakfast did not really cater for British, could'nt rave about it but not as bad as some. My partner especially liked the desserts. This hotel is mostly for the Spanish pensioners, there was line dancing classes in the afternoon which seemed to be popular, we did'nt see the entertainment at night but again I think that it catered mostly for the Spanish. It was quite nice at first being in the old town as the shops are nice and the wee street are quaint but we tended to go into the New Town at night and the walk back was a bit of an effort. I like Benidorm and there's something for everyone whether you like it busy or quiet but I don't think that I would go back to the old town or th Fiesta Park through choice. An added bonus for us was that the weather was lovely. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fiesta Park Hotel - Benidorm Operator and Date: (MyTravel Direct) Aspro - 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Paula Talbot, M/C - 41, 37, 12, 9, 7 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: Did not like this Hotel at all, pool exceptionally small for size of hotel, always muggy (could never see bottom) even after complaining!! It is full of spanish oaps on their government holiday, they take up large parts of the dining room for themselves so be careful where you sit. The food was poor one night we had only one choice of potatoe and one choice of veg. some stuff was good, but most was average at best. Entertainment was geared towards the spanish, the hotel was very clean and the bar and pool was nice. The spanish like to take up the tables on the verandah to play cards all day and night. The hotel is far away from benidorm night life and the buses were not very frequent over to that side. We spent a lot of the holiday in taxis. We used the beach at cala finestrat (no 5 bus) as it was easier to get to than levante. This was our third trip to Benidorm and the nightlife is the same, wild or quiet as the mood takes you. I would advise if you are thinking of going to Benidorm, you must do it, I do not think there is anywhere else on earth to match it, it does have something for everyone. The beaches are the best and so clean, the water is clear blue. The commercial side of benidorm (the english bars etc) can be ignored if you wish, there are lots of restaurants so go self catering and treat yourself to an english breakfast and swim it off later. Hotels do not tend to get a lot of sun as it is so built up. But you must go at least once. The restaurant is very busy - use the lower restaurant for quicker service. The Spanish holidaymakers who use this hotel (and there alot of them!) have no concept of how to queue and you can find yourself at the back of the line before you know it! There are 2 pools - the one of the ground floor is very busy and you have to get there early to get a sunbed as the usual sunbed monsters put their towls out early and don't come down until tea-time. The hotel staff on one occasion did collect all the towels that were put out too early and dumped them in reception to give others a chance to use the pool. There is also an indoor pool on the 5th floor - this was great as my son played all day without getting sunburnt and we could lie on the sunbeds on the sun terrace. Terra Mitica was fine - we went at 5pm as it was much cooler and I think a day is too long - not that much to see and kids need to be 140cm to get on the big fast rides. Fireworks at midnight are great. Bus 22 runs direct from boulevard beside hotel and is there outside Terra Mitica after fireworks only costs 85cents per person. Take an old mobile phone top-up card/credit card to use for your air-conditioning - it is normally operated via your room key but if you use one of these cards the room is cool when you come in from pool etc and can be stifling hot! Security issues seem to have been addressed - security guard on door at night and CCTV monitor on reception. We heard nothing about break-ins whilst we were there. Yes entertainment at the hotel is for the spanish but our we one loved running about with the other kids on the dancefloor. My biggest moan was the location of the hotel it was a good 20mins walk into benidorm. We went down to the beach every day because you had no chance of getting a bed by the pool. If your looking for a quiet part of the beach head down the hill towards the harbour and go right. The Flamingo Benidorm (not oasis) was excellent value for money, only a couple of complaints which were far outweighed by the good points. Firstly, pool was unheated and freezing! Though it soon warmed up on a hot day. we all thought the food was great, a bit repetitive but always tasted good, though the snacks were cr*p (unless you like toasties a lot!). The free spirits are really weak so you need to drink like a fish to feel the effects! The pool area was busy but there are plenty of sunbeds to go around. We were really pleased with ou room, they are apartments with a seperate lounge, and a fridge, so were nice and spacious. They also had air con, TV and hairdryer. The entertainment was fine - kids were kept happy with the disco and film afterwards. Only complaint there is 'Ray and Eve' - on a couple of times a week(once was too much) with the same routine. All the public areas were really nice, and clean, and we were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel especially considering the price we paid. We tended to stay within the hotel, so can't say too much about the resort but the sea is a bit rocky and is better further along the beach towards the old town, market is great for shoes and bags, and the kids loved Mundomar, where they had photos stroking the dolphins. We Would definitely consider staying here again if we went back to benidorm, and would reccomend it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hotel Flamingo Aparthotel Operator and Date: (Libra Discounts) Libra Holidays - March 2004 Opinion submitted in Mar 2004 by : Sheila Flaherty, Liverpool (48, 19, 52 ) : Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: The Flamingo Aparthotel is at the top of a hill, around 600 yards inland from the beach. It's quite an old 24 storey tower block, and if you look closely, some of the apartments are showing wear and tear, but nevertheless are well equipped with tvs (Sky News, Eurosport and BBC), fridges, hairdryers, air-con, balconies and lounge. The staff are really friendly and the Bar staff in particular have great senses of humour (well worth sticking the odd coins in their tip jars). In March the Dining Room was quite busy, despite the Hotel not being full, and in July August, there must be considerable queues, as it's not very big. The food is not the best we've had in "all-inclusives", but is not to be complained of, and the two carvery evenings were excellent, with pork/beef sliced off the bone. There is a resident Duo who entertain in the downstairs "disco", and they try their best, singing old standards to backing tapes. More entertaining is the Guest's Karaoke held upstairs 2-3 times a week. There are a couple of "Turns", but to be honest, you're better off wandering down the hill and experiencing the wealth of entertainment in the Benidorm Bars. Hire a car (Carjet on the Internet recommended), and visit Denia, about an hour away. Fantastic Restaurants, and still a Spanish feel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: travel care - june 2007 Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : mark lindsay - 34,33,5,2 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: the flamingo benidorm was allinclusive which was great for the kids with their juice and ice lollies. the room was a bit on the small size , but very clean and tidy. the balcony was massive , approx 20 feet long. the bedroom had two single beds and the living room had a pull out bed. the hotel was immaculate with cleaners every morning and also the pool was cleaned every day. the kids pool was on the small side as there was lots of kids there . Definately going back. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: Flyglobespan March/April 2007 Opinion submitted in May 2007 by : Jean Crannage - Scotland (43, 37, 17, 16, 12 ) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Flew out end of March for Easter in the sun like we do every year weather amazing wherever we go unfortunately not this time colder in Benidorm than Scotland would you believe had a couple of nice days the rest of week rain and gales, Hotel nice enough i would go back as food was really tasty always something you could eat and enjoy as we were all inclusive,(drinks were also okay as i read that they were very weak i did not think this)Bedrooms although very clean could do with a makeover, Entertainment was also not bad they try hard to please which is a bonus when we go back to Benidorm i will go half board as Entertainment outside 5 mins from hotel was amazing more our taste the only real gripe about this hotel and this is not much, they do not have laundry facilities so a family with young kids will find it difficult for a week never mind two so i would propably go somewhere else because of this also the pool was not big enough for size of hotel. Word of warning when going to beach be careful in sea we were down less than five minutes and had 3 casualties my daughter cut her leg wide open on rocks or shells which needed medical treatment(hotel reception very unhelpful) my son had about 4 cuts to legs and feet also his friend lots of cuts and minus a toenail so be careful. p.s Beware of the Gypsies camped up in nearby wasteland very amusing watching police raids i felt sorry for them until a few people had been either mugged or purses taken from bags at market, overall after all this holiday was enjoyable due to hotel being good especially Denis manager in restaraunt who could not do enough to help with anything you required he was a star. Go to this hotel you will enjoy it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: Independent - Jan 2007 Opinion submitted in January 2007 by : Family of Four Two Teenagers Two Adults Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Went To Flamingo Benidorm Jan 2007 Excellent Food Accomadation Big And Clean Although Beware Walls Extremely Thin You Can Hear Everything!!!! Its really hard going away with so many people when it is meal times but we never had to queue up for a seat in the resturant .The food was really nice , there was a variety of food no matter what your tastes were from , lamb chops , chicken beasts , tuna steak , curry etc ....The hotel staff were very friendly although i do have to say that the bar staff were not helpful when you wanted to use a tray and at times quite inpatient when there was a queue . A visit to the Shamrock irish bar is a must , live band and a fantastic atmosphere .If you want a change from the hotel resturant then Mama Loucie's over the road from Churchills is fantastic for delicious Italian food . The only complaints that we had with the hotel were that the lifts tended to keep having to be repaired, and the air conditioning in our rooms wasn't very effective (maybe not very good for high season?) On the plus side the rooms were very spacious with a full size fridge and were cleaned daily. Balconies are spacious with fairly good views over the resort and if you looked carefully into the distance you could see the sea. Entertainment is not brilliant, although kids enjoyed it but after a few who cares! Queues for the bar may look big but speedy service by the bar staff soon reduce them. Even though the hotel is at the back of the resort it was a pleasant straight walk to the front passing shops and bars on the way (depending on which route you take). There is a market on Sunday & Wednesday, BE WARNED some of the local shops sell the same goods at less money. If you like to haggle well worth a visit! Went to Terra Mitica, can catch a bus there and back for 2 Euro's each. Would recommend going in the afternoon from 3pm as it is cheaper and quieter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

The rooms are spacious and a good shower that as hot water all the time. Food was good just wish they'd do potatoes and more veg with the dinners instead of chips all the time.Plus they sometimes do a range of food just for for the children. The entertainment is ok for the children in the day and of a night time. Didnt think much about the acts on of a night time.If you like people doing acobats on round tubes then its up your street. They had two of these acts on in one week(not my cup of tea).Plus your game of bingo. Pool is cleaned out every day BEWARE freezing when you first get in the water.Plenty of sunbeds to go around if you want a good spot to sunbath then get there early as they are there first thing of a morning when the chains come off the beds putting the towels on. The beach is lovely and clean. The price of the sun bedsare 4euros all day.Plus the weather is also good at this time of year it was nice a hot..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: independent - October 06 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : Sheffielders 8 women on tour 30s and 40s Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We went for a short break and really enjoyed it, food fab, there was only about half an hour during the day when you couldnt eat!!! No complaints at all being a VERY faddy eater imagined eating plenty of fruit at each meal, not so I ate breakfast dinner & evening meal evry day, put on over a stone, lost some since I came home. Yes you are a 10min walk fram the front but you are also 15mins from the noisy idiots. Definitely booking again, dad in law has just booked a month for September next year. Not bad for 85years old, the only minus is the hill coming back but for e3 in a taxi from the beach to the hotel its not worth the walk. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

RECEPTION/STAFF; The reception area is very welcoming with very friendly staff. Nothing is a bother to them and can speak very good English. ROOMS; The rooms are well equipped old but very clean, good size bathroom and bedroom, small kitchen area with free use of a fridge. Living area with TV and dining area with two sofas that are made up into sofa beds if there is more then 2 staying. Huge balcony with washing line and patio table and chairs. Maid was in every morning to make up your bed,mop and brush and to leave fresh towels. FOOD; The food is brilliant something for everyone, always warm.Breakfast was served till 10.30 every morning full English, cheese, cold meats, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and pastries.Lunch was served from 1-3 normally a choice of two soups to start, then five different main courses from the buffet, all your vegetables and salads and then a good choice of fruit and desserts.Dinner was similiar to lunch but the chef normally done something at the show cooking area ie. theme nights, roasted vegetables, gala dinner. Snacks where only served in the restaurant and limited choice of salads or you where able to make up toasties. There is a BBQ down by the pool which only opened twice during our stay which served burgers etc and the chef done Paella by the pool one day. DRINK; All locally produced spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, bottled water, soft drinks included. Only problem was that it was all served in plastic glasses but you soon got use to it.Bar served other branded drinks which where available for a small charge ie.Guinness E1.80, Bells E1.80,Strongbow E1.80 which where served in proper glasses. POOLS; Great lovely and clean, big pool for the adults and a small one for the kids. We didn't have any problem finding any sunbeds always a few available in the afternoon. ENTERTAINMENT;The entertainment is mostly geared up for kids, perfect for families. Limited but enjoyable. The hotel has a huge sun terrace where the entertainment took place at night, lovely spot to seat at night to cool down. Games room for the kids, two lounges showing films and sports for the adults. LOCATION;The location of the hotel is the only fault that we could find. It is set away back from everything. The beach is a good 15 minute walk and the main strip would be a 15 minute walk away too. Probably would be best to taxi it home if there was only the two of you very derelict at night. All and all the hotel is great, especially for families plenty to keep the kids entertained. Very clean and all staff are very welcoming. Benidorm itself is an excellant choice so much to do,the caberet shows and disco's are a must. I was not impressed when on the friday stag and hen parties began arriving and the language and behaviour deteriated considerably even thugh this is supposed to be a family hotel i have been on 9 all inclusive holidys and can definately say this was the worst by far,if you like foul language roudy behaviour wet seats lots and lots of noise and kids jamming the lifts and the ritual sunbed freaks who set out chairs with towels on by 8 o'clock even though the beds dont get unchained till 9 30am then this is the place for you has for me il go back to the calypso a far better hotel where you can relax and enjoy my hols --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: own - july 2006 Opinion submitted in July 2006 by : Rich wood - nottingham (04,09,64 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Overall the flamingo benidorm is excellent, top quality food and the accomodation is pretty good too and the hotel is spotless, the biggest downfall is the gangs of lads they allow to stay in what we thought was a family hotel, the behaviour was disgusting, from dropping their shorts from the balconies in full view of the kids in the pool, and throwing lit cigarettes by the side of the pool, so i would think twice about returning with children. overall though good value for money --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: Select Holidays June 06 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : Merthyr Tydfil ages 20 and 26 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Just got back from a fab holiday in Benidorm. Lovely pool, with plenty of sun beds to go around, on the one occasion that there was not enough sun beds for all the staff(all who were very nice)organised for more sunbeds to be delivered. The food was nice and catered for all with a childrens section, themed nights were good too. The hotel entertainment was not the best, during the day entertainment was great with activites, such as water polo and archery, parrort shows and trips out, to the market and bull ring. During the night tho entertainment was not so good great for children, but me and my partner found it a bit boring. The best bit was watching my boyfriend, Jason and friend Mark sing Shaggy on kareoke. Lol. We took advantage of the wonderful all inclusive drinks and then headed to town around 11 to the bars, pubs and clubs. Weather: very hot although windy, which was sometimes welcoming in the hot sun. we did have one overcast day though which we spent sight seeing. Location: Benidorm is brilliant, this was my seventh time there, but I still enjoy it. On arrival at the hotel, our 1st impressions were great, the enterance of the hotel was smart, and the reception smart and clean. It seemed to be a great family hotel, plenty of smiling kids about! The food was superb, plenty and hot, though you had to queue for everything, the only thing is with the drinks, day and night they were served in plastic cups. The entertainers did a wonderful job, the entertainment at night was good. Two days into our holiday 2 big groups of men arrived. I dont have a problem with boys on a beano, but I do when they show no respect for the others around the pool, and jump in the pool when children are learning to scuba dive!! even when asked not too. If you are after a good value for money hotel, The Flamingo Benidorm is it, but be prepared because this hotel allows large single sx groups in. Some even stayed in an apartment block 5 mins away, and was allowed to use the all-inclusive facillities, so by mid morning families were surrounded round the pool, it was quite intimidating to be honest. All in all it was not a bad holiday, but allowing large single sx groups has put me off returning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flamingo Benidorm - Benidorm Operator and Date: JOURNEYS DIRECT - April 2006 Opinion submitted in May 2006 by : Andy ,Ronnie ,and Stevie Bain Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Stayed at the flamingo benidorm hotel at easter week this is the second time I have stayed at this hotel having been here in easter 2004 and the standard has been maintained from then. The hotel is kept clean at all times, the food is excellent and of a high standard especcialy the theme nights .When we stayed there was a mexican,an indian, and a spanish food theme night. Most of the barstaff were full of fun and enjoyed having a laugh with you with the exception of one John and he was British enough said, the spirits were in large measures, the beer was quite gassy (two years ago there was 2 choises of beer)and you could get any cocktail you ordered.
