My/Our Holiday Review:

Lagoon was more than we expected for the money we paid.

The rooms were excellent, clean and more than average. The pool was great and although the weather wasn't fantastic ...the sunbeds were free and plenty of room around the pool. Staff were more than helpfull ...Alex and Denniss made us welcome and Marie tried hard to do her best but we could tell she was working too many hours and we told her many times to take a day off but she carried on..trying to smile. The food at Lagoon is not very good...CHIPS..CHIPS and CHIPS.. even with breakfast and not even nice chips. We ate out in the restauarants in Sidari as they were cheaper and better food. BED bar and sea breeze had good food. My wife fell in love with the greek lamb dish of klistako at sea breeze. Drinks at Lagon are more expensive than the rest of Sidari and you can find cheaper bars if you look.

Sidari was very quiet when we were there and apart from the sewerage smells and mosquitoes there wasn't a lot to talk about. Before this holiday the last time we came to Corfu was 8 years ago and prices have rocketed since then...Greece is no longer a cheap holiday and you really need a hundred pounds a day to enjoy yourself. All in all ...we went to the beach 2 or 3 times in 2 weeks and we hoped it would get better every time, as a JCB was busy ruining our relaxing day by revving up and down the beach area.... but it never did...so sorry... but we will NOT be going back to Sidari as we felt that even though we paid a cheap price the holiday was below average and value for money is not available in Corfu any more.

My/Our Holiday Review:

Arrived early hours of morning after nearly 3 hours coach from airport but was greeted by a friendly face called Jess, from Wales, who showed to our rooms with a smile. Next day saw bad weather but what can you do ?? A few overcast days followed so we spent a few afternoons in the hotel bar. NOT as cheap as we thought..Greece seems to have become very expensive since we were last here. For example, breakfast at Lagoon was 5 euro ...about 3.50 pounds, which was a bit steep especially when it's half the price in the town..and WHO has CHIPS with breakfast ??...mushrooms or tomatoes ...OK.. but seems that they charge as much as possible for little effort. Infact we found out that ...as someone else said on here...Lagoons menu is CHIPS with EVERYTHING. Some boiled or mashed potatoes would be nice.

Pool is excellent, great for the kids and sunbeds are FREE. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Alex, behind the bar was more than helpful and the entertainments guy, Paul, from Derby, England, did a great job and really stopped the kids from being bored by getting them to join in with things. Maria and Denis were great although some mornings Maria was late for serving breakfasts and was moody when she did get there.

All in all we had a good holiday but not sure if we would go again with the kids. Think we will try Turkey next year.

My/Our Holiday Review:

This was the first time abroad for the family and we were very pleased with the choice we made. The apartment was spacious, clean and very nicely presented. Wonderful to get up in the morning and have a coffee on the Verandah. The pool area was excellent and we had no problem with getting a sun bed even though the place was packed out.

The staff were excellent and went far beyond the call of duty when making you feel welcome. They went out of their way to get you anything that you would want. Alex, Denis and Maria were always smiling and willing to have a joke with the children. Paul did a good job of keeping everyone entertained.

Because of the friendly laid back atmosphere of the staff it make you feel more relaxed and everyone at the apartments made friends with each other. Would recommend it to anyone. We arrived as strangers but felt we left with having made several friends.

Thank you to all the staff at the Lagoon apartments.

My/Our Holiday Review:

We had a great holiday,

all the staff were very friendly and made you feel really welcome. Only gripe about the holiday was the cleanliness of the rooms, an occassional mop of the floor and dusting would not have gone amiss, there was no mop or dustpan and brush in the room for any accidents or spills, on saying that the bar and pool areas were kept spotless. The resort itself was good, plenty of places to eat at reasonable prices, we visited most resaurants in our 2 week stay, Sea Breeze, Rooftop Garden, Three Little pigs, Bedbar and many more. Walked to the Canal d'amour area which was quieter than the main strip. I must admit the thought of Karioke and Bingo was a bit daunting, but it was very well organised by Paul the entertainments guy, and the bar staff Alex, Dennis and Maria worked very hard sometimes until 4am.

I would recommend these apartments and although we have never been back to the same place twice, I would consider this one again, and hire a car so as to see more of the island at our own pace, the island tour was expensive and very rushed. A couple that we met hired a car for a few days, we went out with them for 2 days, it was so much better than the coach trip, we went through some lovely little villages, we visited Paleocastritsa, Bella Vista, Ag. Georgios Bay really lovely beach there, Kasiopi, Dasia and Lakones. We lost our way a few times but that made it more fun!!

All in all a great holiday to remember.

My/Our Holiday Review:

just returned from hols in sidari staying at the lagoon appts.the good side of the holiday was that the staff alex and maria and maids and not forgetting paul were excellant very friendly and always helpful.a bit noisey on a night from boy racers which was quite annoying at times.the pool area was great plenty of beds but only due to time of year as anyone could visit the pool area.some fantastic meals from romanos,olypmic,3 little pigs, roof top garden and many more.greek dancing a must, very good.

went to palepkastritsa by boat great day trip but book in town not with rep.my husband and daughter went horse riding which they enjoyed.only real downside was that after your meal you could only drink in the bars or dance which my 15 year old loved(no alcohol for her) but not much good for a 9 year old she got sick of doing that after a week,as no entertainment for her.would we go back? yes but not as a family .this is no good for children aged 9-13 but if you are single or couples then you have it made.it reminded me of benitses 20 years ago which we found great when you are in your 20's.the greeks are very happy and helpful and can't do enough for you.

meals are very cheap but drinks quite dear.don't ask for room 203-4 as only have shower and floor got quite wet asked to move and we were offered another room but could not move until our 2nd week so we stayed where we were but next time would ask for room in new block so rep did try for us which was nice of her.

please consider if you want to take young children for reason'stated above.all in all though we did enjoy corfu and would go back in the future.

My/Our Holiday Review:

I have just got back from Sidari, and I can assure you all, I wont be going back!

We went with another family, so the party was a total of 7 people, and without our friends, I would have not been happy at all.

The apartments while very spacious, were filthy, and when we asked for it to be cleaned we were met with a very grumpy woman on reception who did nothing about it. Our appartment was very quiet due to the double glazing, but our frineds were quite close to the bar, and they did not have double glazing, so it was vey noisy for them, not only from the Bar but from the Boy Racers in their

1.2litre fiat-ferrarri's racing around!!!

The whole time we were there (2 weeks) we had only 1 set of sheets replaced and the towels were changed only twice in the whole fortnight. I do not find that acceptable for appartments that are supposed to be 3* +.

Air conditioning is a fortune! We had a Studio and we got charged 100euro's, our Friends had a 2 bed appt and they were charged 180euro's! but after some bartering we got their price down to 140 euro's, Even our rep couldnt explain why it was so expensive at the Lagoon when all her other Aparts only charge 50-60 euro's for 2 weeks!! but be warned if you dont have Air con do not leave your windows open, the amount of people that we saw absolutely covered in bites from leaving widows open because of the heat.

The pool area is open to everyone, we found that on our second week a large group of Italian students came round and they took up 10 sunbeds every day, there are plenty of them though, I just didn't realise that anyone could just walk in to the pool area even if they are not a resident.

The appartments are situated in a very good position, luckily, we didnt hear any of the loud noises coming from the 'BLACKPOOL' end of town! It was hideous for a supposedly quiet relaxing family resort! We found a much quieter end of town that was more suitable for a family to eat and drink in.

I couldn't belive the amount of bars that showed all the soaps and played Bingo at night!!! Hellooo??? I went to a Greek Island for the 'Greekness' if I wanted Eastenders & Big Brother, I would have gone to Skeggy.

Now that I have moaned, It wasn't such a terrible holiday, only very dissapointing, when you have worked all year to find out that it isn't the quiet and relaxing break that you hoped it would be you are bound to feel disgruntled.

Lets look at the good points....

The hotel pool is spotless, the position of the appartments is great.

If you go out of the appartments and turn left, head towards the Canal d'amour and that end of town, it is lovely, we ate at some fanatstic places, We ate at the 3 little pigs and the the entertainment was fantastic, but you must be prepared to wait for food, on average 1-1 1/2 hrs.

There is also a wonderful little Italian that is hidden awaynear the COOP (The Locals eat there) so I find that the best reccommendation! It was called Pizza Romana, and unless you get told about it you would never find it.

There was also another Taverna, almost at the end of the Canal d'amour stretch of Road, I think it was called 'Nicholas' The food there was the best, they were wonderful with the children and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The beach was wonderful and very safe for little children. The cost of 2 sunbeds and 1 parasol on the beach is 7.50euro's.

The watersports are all very reasonably priced also.

I wouldn't want to put anyone off going to Sidari, but to be honest, I don't think that the brochures paint it quite as it is! If you have teenage children I think it would be perfect, but I have a 6year old and to see groups of 'lads & lasses' staggering around the streets and vomiting was not my idea of a quiet family night out!

I would say that the Blackpool end of town was about 1 minute away from the Lagoon, but the Nice side was about 5 mins in the opposite direction, so It is well worth the short walk.

I would never choose to back to Sidari, but if a cheap deal came up and it was the Lagoon Appartments.... better the devil you know!

My/Our Holiday Review:

The Lagoon Apartments we found to be in the perfect spot in Sidari. Very close to both the beach and restaurants. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The bar and pool areas are kept spotlessly clean.

The rooms are adequate, but not very good maid service. Only bins emptied daily, sheets and towels only changed once a week.Don't foget your Toilet Rolls! these are not supplied.

Food in the hotel is very good, both the breakfast and evening meals.

The local restaurants are very good. But for a Very Good night out, do go to 'The Three Little Pigs'. The staff are very welcoming and the food is excellent. Unfortunately we only went 4 times and on the last night they entertained us with Greek dancing with fire and plate smashing. The owner then gave us a free bottle of wine to take home.

We now try to go with First Choice all the time as we have found them to be an excellent company to fly with.

Me and my wife wanted quiet Accomodation with plenty of bars and tavernas and we were not disapointed. lagoon Hotel very clean and tidy, hot water did run out so sometimes it was a cold shower.

The beech was fantastic, bit of a problem with dogs roaming but they only ran up and down the beech not bothering anybody.

The sea was very safe for bathing having to walk out approx 100mtrs to waist.

Only coplaint CHIPS with everything including breakfast in majority of places.

A place to visit for cocktails is blondy's (turn rirgh at Three Little Pigs) owners Ged & Josie very friendly and welcoming

We have been going to Corfu for the last 7 years and this is the first time that we have returned to a resort. The Lagoon Studio Apts were the best we have stayed in on the island, the rooms were a good size and were kept clean with a maid service 6 times a week, an immaculate pool area and the staff especially Alex and Maria couldn't do enough to help with any queries we had.

Sidari has grown quite a bit since we were last there 2 years ago and is now an excellent place for everyone, during the day you can either laze by the pool or beach and for the more active there is plenty of watersports (the flyfish is top class)and by night you can make your holiday as lively or as quiet as you wish. The bars and restaurants are pretty good value for money with Bolero, Mikeys Inn and the Premier Bar really good fun and Cactus Jacks, Sea Breeze and Olympic Restaurants excellent for food.

My/Our Holiday Review:

We have just spent two weeks in Sidari, staying at the lagoon apartments. The accomodation was very good, clean and well maintained.Pool was excellent and pool area thoroughly cleaned every night.Bar served good food, and staff Alex and Maria were excellent, really friendly and spoke great English.

The resort itself left a lot to be desired. If bingo , karaoke, large screen t.v showing English programmes and football 24/7 and loud music appeal to you then you will love it-class it aint!! Walking down the main street is a risk you take if you are feeling brave, as a lack of pavements and some very bad driving is not a good combination.

The long sandy beach could be as beautiful as the brochure tries to imply, if it weren't for the countless cigarette ends, general rubbish and stray dogs, who use the beach as one huge toilet. Also sewage smell causes quite a problem if you happen to be sitting downwind. The whole area would benefit from a really good clean up operation. The canal d'amour area was quieter and generally more attractive, with some interesting rock formations, and the clifftop restaurant was a lovely place to sit with a drink, the view was lovely.

Good restaurants to try -Cactus Jack's for a great mexican, the fajitas were wonderful, and their daily specials excelent value.Three Pigs for entertainment value, Greek fire dancing good fun although the food was average the service was good.Boat B.B.Q to lovely bay of Paleokastricta was a really great day, although book with outside operators rather than reps, and also worth a visit is pretty village of Kassiopi, much more traditional Greece.

Although I like Greece and it's islands (Crete last year was beautiful) I would never go back to Sidari, and would not consider it suitable for a family holiday, but 18-25s should love it.

First time in Corfu and we think the last. Lagoon was excelllant hotel but drinks were very expensive in the bar..ie: 1 pound.75p for a coke which was a quarter ice. FAR too dear when you consider a can is 35p from the supermarkets and you get more. Also a small bottle of water was 70p and 12p from supermakets for exactly the same bottle. I understand that you will pay more in a hotel but surely not up to 500% !!Sidari as a resort is dirty and looks unfinished, the beach is disgusting and I recommend you stay by the pool. The Greeks could learn a lot from the Spanish as regards cleanliness but they are more welcoming than the Spanish. Moaning over...we had a reasonable holiday but don't think we will be back. Lagoon was very clean and pool was great. The staff were all very friendly and we cannot fault them. Alex was a best friend at the end of the holiday as was Maria. Paul who did the bingo was excellent and was a great laugh.. he made us feel so at home ..so to speak !!However we did think bingo 4 nights a week was TOO MUCH... and enjoyed the quiz nights more.

Thanks for a nice holiday but too expensive and many other holidays offer better value.

My/Our Holiday Review:

The apartments are lovely, quiet, clean, pretty and above all friendly. It IS a bit of a trek into Sidari with 2 kids so we opted for a taxi (still 5 euros, ask George to order) each way (there is a taxi-rank in Sidari for the return trip).

There is a small "supermarket" and fruit stall only 10 minute walk from Leandros to stock up on water, milk, fruit, bread etc.

Sidari itself is a bit too English but still has some nice places to eat (we liked the Sea-breeze and the Magic Wok). Be prepared to put up with people trying to tout for your custom as you browse menus - it can be a bit intimidating at first. Our favourite restaurant was undoubtedly the Panorama at Sunset Beach (8 Euros taxi). The food was good but the real bonus is the view at sunset (surprise, surprise).

Sidari beach is very nice. The water is shallow for a long way and so good for kids. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols for hire and pedalos for your trip round to the Canal d'amour from 10 Euros per hour. I didn't really see the point in covering yourself with brown/green mud from the bottom of the sand-stone outcrops which seemed to be the vogue but hey - what do I know at 41!

Hope you enjoy your holiday, George and Maria seem to work endlessly but keep smiling and George's collection of Hawaian shirts will brighten up your day. PS His pool table is an experience - don't expect much of a break!

My/Our Holiday Review:

We had a four bed apartment at Leandros and were very satisfied with our stay.

George & Maria were extremely friendly and helpful & adults and kids loved them.

The pool is beautiful and because the complex is small we were able to sit by the pool all day with access to our apartments' terrace open. This meant that we could roam freely between pool & apartment whenever we wished. Fantastic for those frequent visits to the loo or for drink that children request!

Unlike the previous reviewer, we did not experience any noise late at night from either the bar or other guests.

Before going we were a little worried by the distance from the resort and beach.

We found that both were approx 30 minutes walk away. Taxi costs were 5 Euros and were a good alternative to the walk.

Sidari is very busy and we opted for the walk on the backroad to Canal D'Amour / Melitsa (Still approx 30 minutes) where the bars & restaurants were a little more low key.

Recommended restaurants: 3 Little Pigs, Aquarius, Orchard, Village & Nicholas.

Both adults in our party are smokers and would like to say that the smoking in restaurants was not apparently excessive in our opinion.

Greece has a more liberal attitude to smoking than the UK. I think it would be fair to say that it is one of the few countries left that does not treat smokers as lepers!

Smoking is after all, still legal!!!

All in all we would thorughly recommend this accomodation and the resort.

Will definitely be returning!

My/Our Holiday Review:

What a difference a year makes. I reported on here a year ago and did point out that the experience at Leandros can depend on the other guests. It was still good but apparent that last time we were probably lucky. Despite having words with the Bar Manager, George, and the Kosmar rep, music from the bar would continue beyond 12, and shouting etc (including kids) carried on generally between 1 and 2 a.m., one night till 3a.m. It's a bit of a drag, particularly with children needing to go off early hence getting up early - I would have stayed in the town if that's what I had wanted. So because of that, will not plan to go back in the near future, it's too much of a risk if it is not going to be managed. Shame as it is still a good set-up. Pool was a bit busier / rowdier and more people arriving from nearby apartments, but generally still accessible.

Sidari - continues to slide downmarket. Every restaurant we went to, we seemed to get surrounded by smokers, oblivious to your children and to your eating from the moment they sit down and light up. Bizarrely, almost always women. Avoid "Sea Breeze" - we had the weirdest experience with a member of staff ( won't bore you with details) dealing with our youngest so walked out before we'd even ordered - a new one on me - shame as menu looked good !

If you are mobile, recommend: Hydropolis Water Park near Acharavi ; beach at Agios Stefanos ( north west - there are 2 ! ) - turn right out of apartments ; Corfu Town - parking a bit of a pain but should find somewhere.

Corfu Airport - worse than ever, wish they would spend some of their touist revenues on it. Kosmar reps pretty useless / invisible - got all our info/ directions from Olympic reps. Flight from Bristol with Islandsflug OK - but no warning, update or explanation of delays at either end.

Despite above - all in all, good value for money from Kosmar. Just could be better for the sake of a few simple things

We stayed here for 1 week (31 May - 7 June 04) in a split level apartment.

Accomodation excellent, very spacious and complex very quiet and relaxing.

Sidari centre a good walk away (30 mins)

however we prefered to be out of the centre as a bit too many Karaoke bars etc.

Canal d'amour area of Sidari nicer.

Excellent Chinese restaurant in Sidari called China Town. Also Panorama Restaurant at Sunset Beach was fantastic and very reasonable.

Get a car and go to Paleocastrika fantastic place but careful on the roads!!! Very windy and plenty of hair Pin bends....

All in all though an excellent holiday.

Weather wasn't great which was disppointing and complex a bit quiet but George and Maria who ran the bar were friendly!

I would recommend for families with young children as very peaceful.

Just got back from a week at Legends, and had an excellent holiday.

The apartments themselves are clean, we had four beds in ours and yes they are small but big enough for a holiday. the bathroom had a power shower and a curtain which was great, the kitchen area was quite big although we didnt use it, and we had a balcony with chairs and a table. The apartments have nets over the doors and windows which are handy so you can keep doors open without mosquitos getting in. The beds were comfy enough but we noticed that the maid only made the bed and didnt change the sheets which was a bit gross as it was soo hot at night. We purchased the air con for 5 euros a night which helped.

The pool facilities are great, the pool is clean and a perfect size, with plenty of sunbeds although these were full by midday so if u had a lie in u would have to sit in the shade. The food at the hotel bar was nice and they catered for all tastes, and it was cheap. Drinks wernt overley cheap in the hotel bar but the atmosphere was good and they had plenty of quizzes and evening entertainment. This hotel is pefect for families, couples, and groups of friends i think it catered for everyone.

Sidari itself had loads of bars, restaraunts etc and everything was so cheap,i'd definatley recommend it.

We went to Aqualand during our stay, which was 24euros at the travel agent just down the road from Legends, and its definately worth doing, it was an amazing day and again suited people of all ages. The transfer is about an hour from and to Aqualand but it was brill!

All in all, we got great value for money at Legends, dont be put off by the bad reviews, i think if u did have a problem with the room or anything whilst staying there then they would do all they could to help you. Thankfully we didnt experience any problems!

The accommodation and resort was very good, however to get to the centre and the beach was quite a long walk.the beach is great and some bars include the sunloungers and brollies free of charge - there was seeweed but not a problem.

The service at the apartments was excellant, rooms and linen were cleaned regularly. Food and prices were reasonable if you want to eat there.

Do visit "Memories" restarant for their amazing food - if you like Greek food this place is a must and the waiters are fantastic.

Go to Value plus for the best prices on trips and car hire, when you leave the apartments turn left and walk approx 50 yards - their office is on the left.Rachel who works there is very helpful and will suggest and explain the different places.

Beware of the Erikousa island - this is a fantastic island but there is NO shade and no loungers or brollies on the beach - but very worth a look.

Just come back from a two week holiday in the resort of Sidari. Read the reviews and got to be honest I was a bit worried.

Transfer from the airport took about 2 hours arrived at the apartments at about 11pm Christina the maid/cleaner was in the middle of making our beds but she could not do enough for us, also met Yannis who was the manager, what a lovley man very pleasant.Apartments were immaculate cleaned every other day the 3 swimming pools and childs play area were cleaned every day. It's true what they said about the road you have vehicles travelling along there like it's a race track. Loads of pubs, restaurants and shops but my two eldest children found it boring no other children of their age to play with but my 3 year old loved it.

Got to pre warn you before you go that there are loads of lizards there and on a night time you get rid of those and you are inundated with frogs and toads, not small ones either and they kept us awake most of the night. Did not realise that frogs could croak that loud. I did notice the smell quite a few times around by the childs play area it seemed to be a stream that seperates the two sets of apartments have a look in the stream during the day and you will find some rather large terrapins.

All in all had a fantastic holiday.

Was a bit worried about these apartments but VERY pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped including air con at 5 euros per day (a bargain!). Although main complex is on main road, we were at the apartment at the back, owned by the Value Plus people - go there for excellent service and superb value. Nothing is too much trouble and Rachel is nothing short of a GEM. She goes that extra mile to ensure that everyone going into their office feels special. Yannis the owner treats you like along lost friend. Car hire was exceptional and very inexpensive. We felt very safe knowing that the insurance cover was top quality.

Sidari wasn't all that great but the apartments and staff and Value Plus made up for our disappointment in the resort, however we WILL be back.

The apartments were very comfortable and had more facilities than we had expected. The level of cleanliness was fantastic and the maid Christina was a gem, although she doesn't speak English. Thank goodness for sign language!

They have a children's splash pool which was fab but wish the older children and some adults would KEEP OUT.

If booking trips, don't use the tour co becuase they are expensive. We went to Value Plus which was tons cheaper. They are very helpful and Rachel is a mine of information and will keep you right on anything and everything to do with Corfu and indeed your holiday. Yiannis, the owner also owns Legends and he is a scream, but he'll speak to you for an hour when 2 minutes would do but a very nice man.

We went on East Coast Cruise, Hydropolus, Corfu Town and Niko Sunset Trip EXCELLENT.

My/Our Holiday Review:

Just came back from staying at The Legends and I have absolutely no complaints! I did read the reviews before we booked and was a bit undecided but then just went for it. Glad we did. Getting baggage at the airport was very swift indeed then the transfer was approx. 1hr 30mins. We arrived in torrential rain which lasted to the next day. We only got 2 hot days out of the week, the other days were overcast or rain. We requested a 2 bedroomed, quiet room and we got just that which was at the back of the hotel. It seemed to be newer than the rooms at the front of the hotel. Also the rooms at the front were noisier from the passing scooters, cars and never ending coaches! Our room was really peaceful and spotlessly clean. I always take my cleaning wipes on holiday but I took them home unopened!

The bar staff, namely Dave and Skippy were very good and couldn't do enough to help, always cleaning up and asking if you wanted any drinks or food. We only had breakfast there and a couple of snacks but no complaints about them. DJ Tigger was also very entertaining. He ran the quiz on a nightly basis and played the music, as DJ's do, and also held a Killer Pool competition on most evenings, which my husband (nicknamed Stallion for the purpose of the game only!) really enjoyed. The main restaurants and pubs were only a 5 minute walk away, but you really had to be careful on the road as there are no pavements and when you leave the hotel you're right on the road, so if you have young children, please take heed but don't let it put you off staying here. The beaches were a bit disappointing. They were dark brown, damp sand and loads of horrible seaweed so you had to hire the sunbeds. We went along to the Canal d'Amour one day and paid 9 Euros for 3 sunbeds which was worth it, but somebody said the paid only 7.50 for 3 beds on the main Sidari beach. Hey-ho! The "smelly" river on the way there is repulsive, I never did find out why it was so smelly but it seemed to be a sewage thing and that was going directly into the sea?!?!

Our wonderful Rep., Steph, told us to eat at the Pizza Romano which was situated behind the Church on the main road (past the trees where the birds gather each evening) and it was brilliant, 15 page menu and no it's not all pizza! But having said that we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. Tried the Indian, Kohe noor, excellent, best curry ever! Tried Panchos Village, also excellent with good portions and prices. Plenty others too! Diet starts on Monday!

My 15 yr old daughter wasn't too happy in Sidari as there wasn't much for her to do and there was nobody else her age at the hotel, so she was bored, but then she is a horrible teenager!

My only complaint is that all the pubs show football. I'm not a fan and I'm not sure why this is, do the Greeks think that we just watch football at home all the time? Having said that there are also pubs showing recent movies all day, handy to know when there's nothing else to do when it's raining. The hotel also shows a movie at 8 pm each night, again a fairly recent release.

Plenty of boat trips and coach trips available. DON'T book thru Rep though, go to Vasillos (can't remember the exact name!) Travel Agent in centre of town, opposite Four Brothers, best prices we found. We booked to Corfu Town, that was a good enough trip but just normal shops intermingled with the usual tacky souvenir shops. There were historical places of interest to visit but my daughter didn't want to do them!

Well, I think I've written enough of my experience at Legends and Sidari and have no qualms about recommending it to anyone.

Just wish the weather was better, but other people that were there the week before us said it wasn't any better! Hit or a miss as regards the weather in Corfu I think. Happy Holidays :)

My/Our Holiday Review:

Me and my friend spent our first holiday on our own in Sidari, as we are only 17 we didn't want anything too lively but wanted good bars to go to at night. Sidari has got a brilliant selction of bars with cheap drinks in the happy hours and good music. We found our favourite was Falcon Bar with the absolutly gorgous bar staff who were very friendly too.

The few nightclubs in Sidari are ok, nothing to shout about but when everything else is closed, they are good to carry on the party until the morning. We were recommended to go to a restaurant called Pizza Romana (not sure if that's the correct name but it's something along those lines) which serves brilliant food. Don't try Mikey's bar which serves a limited selection of English food.

The apartments and the bar area in Lengends is very clean. You even get a toastie maker which went down very well. The rooms are basic but nice. The beds however are like sleeping on concrete but after all you don't spend most of your holz in bed. The bar area was always lively at night with different events on but we liked to venture out so we didn't stay in there much. The nice beach is at the end of the long street of bars and thats the best for swimming in the sea as it hasn't got all the manky seaweed.

All in all we had a brill holiday and will definatly be visiting Sidari again in the future.

My/Our Holiday Review:

Legends is a decent Apartment complex, the Rooms are basic but clean, the maids empty bins every day and clean every other.

The Pool is a Good size, clean and great for Kids, the Music isnt loud enough to be annoying, Staff are constantly collecting Glasses and take Drink / Food orders, one point though is, with so many kids running around I was appalled that plastic glasses wernt in use around the pool!,

The bar is good with food served and Sky TV etc, a Film is shown every night at 8 which is good for the kids, prices are a little steep ( 3 euros for a Fruit-shoot marked 60p???),the staff are friendly enough, all in all a good place for a Holiday.

The only bad point is the road to town, its only a five minute walk but its a narrow unlit single track whick drivers scream along in Cars, Buses, trucks and on Scooters, its bad enough for adults but a death trap for kids, you cant let your guard down for a second!

Sidari is a nice wee town, the Bars are mostly great, special mention to the Red Lion ( Stevie Spit is Hilarious ),

The Rastuarants are excellent, the Roof Garden is especially good but if you like Tex - Mex the Cactus Jacks is the Place, usually packed so service is a bit slow but well worth the wait,

We had a great holiday, hope someone finds this helpful!.

Upon arriving at apartments we found them to be spacious, clean, with power shower and wall fitting (unusual for Greece). cooking facilities were basic but adequate, but there was a toastie maker which came in useful. Legends has a fantastic pool and plenty of sunbeds, the bar area serves a variety of dishes with the best breakfasts! 3.50 to 4 euros.

Legends is only a few minutes walk from the main centre, nightlife was busier than expected, with quite a few groups of girls and boys. We found Olympic restaurant to be our favourite, with its traditional Greek dishes, and fab Greek dancing and a sexy waiter.

The beach isn't the best, its sligtly like a sewage sight with all the seaweed, but there was plenty of watersports and sunbeds. We'd highly recommend any couples to go to a place called Sunset Beach its about 20 minutes away from Sidari and costs only 8 euros in a taxi has the best restaurant called 7th heaven, from which the views of the sunset are breathtaking.

We'd both highly recommend any one to stay at Legends Apartments.

Enjoy,

Nick and Gem

Collected luggage at airport and transfer to accomodation very quick. Accomodation was very disappointing, room was damp clothes always felt damp and not enough facilities to self cater with. Needs more entertainment for kids during the day especially if the weather is poor. DJ Tigger was good, we had a good laugh but needs more variety other than karaoke and quiz every night.

Beach was awful very dirty stung for 15 euros for sunbeds!!

Paradise was great for eating as was the food at Legends, pool very nice and the bar area was spotless.

Sorry but wont be back to any of the greek islands - you either like it or hate it. Not my cup of tea.

My/Our Holiday Review:

This was our first time in Sidari - but DEFINITELY not our last. We're already trying to get booked for Legends next year!

I'll start with the negatives first - airport is terrible! As others have said, you do have to wait forever to reclaim your baggage prior to being transferred to your resort, but on the plus side it is worth it. The only other "bad" thing I can say is, at this time of year, the mosquitoes are ravenous! They'd eat you alive if they had larger stomachs! We didn't do too badly though cos took plenty of insect repellent sprays and plug-ins!

Legends Apartments are fantastic! They were spacious and clean, providing all the amenities that you need on holiday - a bed and shower! Too many people expect a "home from home" on holiday - sorry, it's not gonna happen.

All the staff at the apartments were really friendly, no job too small. The poolside bar was awesome - food really good and showed a film every night.(- only just in cinemas in England) The pool was lovely too - really clean and plenty of room for everyone to get beds around it to catch the wrays! Incidentally, weather was perfect - just right for sitting out in and getting a tan. The beach was only a five minute walk down the road and we found it to be really clean and a nice change from the pool. The sunbeds cost 7 euros for the day (i think) and there are loads of watersports available.

Sidari itself was spot on. There are loads of restaurants and bars, offering everything from "Elvis" impersonators to Greek traditional dancing, all in a really relaxed atmosphere.

I would recommend Legends at Sidari to any families or couples wanting a relaxed but fun holiday with activities available if you want them.

Superb!

My/Our Holiday Review:

We arrived at Corfu airport where we waited for about an hour for our bags. Bear in mind there are about 5 trollies in the whole of Corfu airport.

Anyway the transfer went well and only took 50 minutes. Upon arriving at the apartments, we were pleased to see we had the 'pool view' room that we requested. However, we wished we hadnt as the room was very basic and dated, although clean. We also arrived to a flooded kitchen as they had decided to defrost the freezer for some unknown reason. They explained to us that it would be 'ok in 24 hours' which it was, but we still had to keep mopping up water throughout that time!

Also the room felt very damp (and you could feel it on your clothes) so this may have been because we were so close to the pool maybe?

There was no air conditioning which was really an essential as temperatures reached 40 degrees plus when we were there.

On the plus side, the cleaners seemed to love our room and cleaned it EVERY single day and changed the bed linen and towels at least twice! *Look out for one of the cleaners who looks like a greek version of 'Mel B' from Bo-Selecta!* (Well I thought so anyway).

If possible I would recommend requesting a new room as we did see the new ones and they looked miles better than ours.

The pool and pool area was really nice and there were always sunloungers free and they cleaned the pool thoroughly every day. The entertainment in the bar at the complex was very good, but a bit too loud for us as we were so close to the pool. The music starts about 10am and doesnt finish until 2am so you get the picture. Plus you've got a film showing every night from 7-9pm so there was no chance of us having an evening siesta before we went out!

DJ Tigger is good although his entertainment was limited as its basically a quiz and kareoke EVERY night.

All the staff at the complex are very friendly and helpful (look out for the Ben Elton lookalike) but there is one English lad that is a bit moody and sarcastic.

Recommended things to do and see:- Go on the beach bbq cruise to Paleokastritsa its really good well worth the 19 euros! Buy the trip from one of the tour operators in the town. The boat is crap but you dont really mind as you're on the beach for most of the trip.

Go Aqualand but get there early as it gets very busy. If youve got kids go on the pirate adventure thing we loved it and we're 23!

Hire out a car or a moped and see the island, its really pretty and great fun. But the roads are awful, especially in Sidari centre. There are few pavements and really thin roads so if a coach goes past - watch how close the cars get to it its funny.

Go to Sunset beach restaurant/bar and watch the sunset go down its gorgeous. However the food there isnt all that good and its actually outside so how they can call it a restaurant I dont know.

Eating out is really good in Sidari. We didnt have a bad meal anywhere apart from the last nite when we went to 'Faros' restaurant/club/bar. They charged us high prices and the food was disgusting. However we did both have fish so I cant comment on what other food may be like.

The night life is really poor. They play the same music in every bar (which is ancient eg kriss kross) and the clubs were dire. We went in one at 2am (thinking they must get busy later as we were told) and there were about 8 people in the whole club.

Overall we had a good holiday but 7 nights is defnitely enough, as theres not much to do except boat cruises, shopping and aqualand. Looking back at the holiday we did have a really good time though, I know ive mentioned a lot of bad points but I am a critical person!

I would go back there as it is a really nice country but probably not to Sidari.

My/Our Holiday Review:

We have been going to Sidari for many years now and normally stay at the Garnavos or Paradise apartments which i would recomend to anyone. This time, unfortunately for us, we could not get in this year so we booked what we were told to be the next best thing. Had i of booked these apartments before, we may never have returned to Sidari the number of times that we have. Sidari is a beautiful town which is now sadly getting more commercialised but stilkl a very friendly resort to go to with a mixture for young and old alike.

Legends apartments are old and worn out. The Pool and Pool bar are nice and the people friendly, although the pool itself can get very overcrowded as they try to pack in as many sunbeds as possible.

There is no air conditioning and in some cases no rubbish bins in the Kitchen. Seven of us went in three apartments, two of these were on the main road and so had a tendancy to be noisy. These are quite dark apartments in side set on one floor. The sheets were changed once in these apartments and this was the middle of the second week.

The third apartment was set at the back of the grounds and so was quieter. The maid service here was far better and the sheets changed at least twice. The apartment was however set on two floors with the bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs a problem after sampling the local metaxa. It also had wooden floors upstairs and wooden ceilings which make it very hot indeed. The first problem to arise was that the shower broke, which i must admit was fixed the same day. Then to our dismay the bed broke which again was fixed the same day. You really don't expect these things to happen when you pay out your money.

Please enjoy your holiday in Sidari and this won't put us off going again, only next time we won't go to the Legends Apartments

We arrived in Corfu at 1pm and thankfully didnt have to wait around long for our baggage and the transfer to the resort only took 1 hour instead of 2 hours which we were expecting.

Apparently it had been bad weather the week before so we were lucky to find it was very hot & sunny.

We found the 2 bedroom apartment very spacious and clean but basic and quite dated. The pool was lovely and we never had to fight for sunbeds once.

The entertainer DJ Tigger was very good and all the staff were very helpful friendly. They had a nice water feature of an evening.

The resort itself was very nice, it had a main street with plenty of bars & restaurants, our favourites were Hong Hong Palace & Balero's which did a lovely roast beef dinner on a Wednesday & Sunday.

Theo & Billy bar was great for catching up on the soaps of an evening.

The beach was horrible, it wasn't very clean and had a sewage system going into it, the smell was disgusting!!

The airport when going home was packed and we were all ending up sitting on the floor, but we ended up boarding the plane & taking off early so I can't complain.

All in all a great holiday but glad we didnt have 2 weeks there.

PS Beware of the mozzies!!!!

The hotel itself is very clean, our room was very spacious, but a few of the others that went with us had very small rooms.the pool is allways kept clean, and a nice size.the staff cannot do enough for you.there are plenty of sunbeds for everyone,so no need to rush down in the morning to beat the germans, even though there was only 4 there at the time.

the food there is excellent,it was usually about 23 or 24 euros for 3 meals with drinks, and they were decent sized meals.breakfasts are great too.

tigger the dj,is a good laugh, but can talk a lot,it is mainly karaoke and quizzes though on a night.

the resort itself is ok,but there isnt a great deal for kids to do.14 nights was too long,a week may have been better.it is just one strip of bars and resturants, which is all karaoke and pool tables, one night club if you like banging music.the two bars we ended up using a lot were "the red lion".steve, the transvestite is on every night,he is very funny, takes the mick out of everyone,so beware, but after 4/5 times it gets a bit boring as it is the same jokes.also theo and billys is good, their dj-rob,is great with the kids ,very funny, and if you go in regular they give kids tokens for the pool table.

there wernt many trips that we fancied apart from one ,the beach bbq.free drinks all day(ha),snorkelling ,visiting caves, glass bottom boat, what a con that was,18 euros each, they took us round some cliffs and showed us some pictures in the rocks, then they let you swim in sea for 15 mins, then sat you on a beach fo 3 hours in the red hot sun,the bbq was a peice of chicken with a plate full of tomatoes, free drinks were orange juice, water ,wine or oozo(which you dont want in that heat, sat on a beach)it was free on the beach, but you had to pay on the boat, another con.then they dropped you back ,for an hour coach ride back again,so dont say you havnt been warned,

at the back of the hotel is a small waterpark, free sunbeds and pool.it is 6 euros for the kids to use the 3 slides, but worth it,as it kept the kids happy, and plenty of shade if you want it.

the holiday itself was good as there was 20 of us alltogether ,but i wouldnt go back to this resort again.espacially with small children.but if you want a nice relaxing holiday ,it is perfect.

Although the accomadation was well situated only 2 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the center, i thought it fell well below other accomadation we had stayed in on other greek islands with kosmar previously, the room did not smell very nice and towels were not supplied, also we found a couple of things that where broken eg light fixtures and bathroom fittings ,on top of that we found ourselves next to an overgown untreated field which attracted a lot of mosquitos.

The appartment was the only downside to the holiday, sidari is a fantastic place to stay with lots to do and good nightlife it has a very nice beach and well worth a visit.

The only good thing about the Lidia Apartments is that its only 2 minutes from the bars and 3 minutes from the Beach. So many bad things cant list them all but just a selection include the fact that we did not receive any clean towels, toilet paper or clean sheets during the week that we stayed there. Received a lot of insect bites. If you have a problem with the apartments e.g bulbs going out, nobody on site past 12.00am to help you. Only saw the rep once at the end of the week.

The resort itself is OK!! Plenty of noisy bars playing different kinds of music plus quiet bars depending on your taste. Vist the Red Lion and Venus Bar. Shakers do a mean fried breakfast and fresh sandwiches for day snacks. A must visit is the mexican/Tex Mex restaurant on the way to Canal d'amour. Not impressed with the beach. We visited in the beginning of September and it was freezing on a night!!!

Overall a nice place to stay, the apartments were basic and could of been cleaner but it was nothing more than i expected. Whe were very lucky and had the apartment that walks out onto the pool area which was a real bonus altho the people round the pool were very clicky and thought they owned the place. There was a crowd of about 20 people who go there every year and the same time and they were very rude and made me feel really uncomfortable so i will not be going back there the same weeks again!!. The hotel staff were very helpful and could not do enough for you and and were very freindly.

My/Our Holiday Review:

After a terrifying landing, we made it through customs and got our luggage. We went to our coach and had to wait forever before we set off. Our rep insisted on waiting for a couple that were obviously not coming!! The journey to Sidari was very twisty and not very good for our eldest as she gets travel sick!! Thank god we packed the nappy sacks! We had to admire the coach drivers who had to do some very tricky manouvering when we were dropping other people off at the many many stops! It would have been alot easier to provide 2 or 3 smaller mini buses then it wouldn't have taken so long. Our apartments were the next to last stop, so the rep didn't stay on the coach as her home was in main Sidari itself and she couldn't be bothered!

We made it to the apartments and were met by Crissa, the receptionist. A very lovely lady. The apartments we were in more than made up for the journey. We were on the ground floor in a 2 bedroomed apartment. There were doors from each bedroom that led to the terrace and the terrace led straight to the pool. Fantastic!! The bar was still open when we got there at 1am. The apartment was basic but clean and comfortable. We noticed as the week went on that most of the other apartments had been refurbished and looked really nice. But ours was still very satisfactory.

The next morning there was the usual meeting with the rep. We didn't go as we arrived quite late and the kids were still asleep. All they do at these meetings is try to sell you their trips. We found the same trips on offer in shops around the resort for at least a third of the price of Portlands!! Our advice, shop around.

My husband met our rep when she shoved a leaflet into his hand about the trips. She didn't introduce herself or mention how we could get hold of her. After that we never saw her again!

The main beach was ok but there are 2 smaller coves where we were at the canal d'amour and these were perfect. The sea was perfect for kids as it was waist high for quite a way out and no seaweed. The scenery was fantastic. At night you can watch the sunset over the rocks at canal d'amour beach. Main Sidari was quite busy with clubs ect but the canal d'amour area was all we needed.

Some good resteraunts are The Rock where you can look out to sea and our favourite Cactus Jacks. The meals here are huge and very very tasty. The staff were great and helpful. If we hadn't been anywhere else we would have eaten there every night! The three little pigs was always busy and their greek night looked quite good. In all the resteraunts we ate in it cost us around 60 euros for the 4 of us with drinks.

Beware of the mozzies. I got bitten to death even though we sprayed ourselves each night. There were alot of wasps as well, which could lead to embarasing situations with our daughters when we were eating outside!

After a brilliant week it was time to leave. The coach was half an hour late to pick us up, and suprise suprise there was no rep on board!! When we were going back to the airport over the mountains on the treacherous twisty roads, the driver was on his mobile and driving with one hand!! very scary! At the airport there were massive queues out side where we had to wait to check in. We didn't get any information from the many reps that were just walking around or stood talking to each other! The airport is minute to say it is quite a popular holiday place. The airport was packed after we checked in and the queue for the 1 cafe was humungous. We had taken our own sandwiches and drinks, thankfully, and the kids sat on the floor and we stood to eat them!

All in all a great holiday. We would definately go back to Sidari and the Luisa apartments, but would have to think twice about going with Portland (Thompson) as they were c**p!

My/Our Holiday Review:

Just back fron a week in Sidara. Best holiday for ages.

Appartments were nice. Basic and clean and large enough for a family of 4. Good size balcony aswell. Aircon was available but we didn't need it as the rooms were cool enough even in 30C heat.

Pool area great, nice and warm and no need to get up at 9am and put a towel on a sunbed. During the day it was never too busy but always plenty of people enjoying themselves. Also no annoying reps trying to get you to join in with stupid competitions. No kids club though but this didn't bother us. Food at pool bar very good and cheap, great for an afternoon snack.

Resort. Canal Damour area very nice with lots of bars and restaurants. Favourite restaurant was Nikolas (just left of the appartments). Fantastic three course meal for only 8euros. Different Greek specials on each night. Say hello to Michael for us - what a nice chap. Most bars have quizes, kareoke etc. Saxaphone bar good for little ones as it has a soft play at the back. Planet bar does great cocktails. Some bars show UK tv shows if this takes your fancy. Drinks reasonanble 2.50euro for lager and about 3.50 for spirit+mixer. Walk into the main strip for noisier night life. A good bar in this area is One For the Road - free shots with every drink and free kids cocktails.

Beaches. We mainly stayed around pool but best beach is a cove in Canal D'amour turn left out of appartments and follow signs. The main beach is not nice.

Others: Look out for "Floppy Lug" a local dog with one droopy ear. Look out for a chap on a horse and carriage. Thinks he is an Adonis with hairy chest and long flowing hair. Look out for two fiddlers next to the stinky bridge. They play the same tune every time you walk past and apparantely they are both rich!

Overall a great, relaxing holiday. OOP AH! as the locals say

My/Our Holiday Review:

Just come back after having two weeks at the Louisa Apartments, on arrival we were met by Chrisa in her high heeled clonky shoes (especially on arrivals night when she sees other guests to their apartments)only woke us a couple of times though and she is such a freindly lovely person you can forgive her.

The apartments themselves are nice and clean, the only thing we did not like was the bathroom, although clean it was just that every time you took a shower the bathroom ended up like a swimming pool, but we did have a shower curtain, apparently some of the rooms did not have a shower curtain, but for two weeks it was not a problem.

The resort itself there is something for everyone to do and the places to eat are fantastic only had one bad meal while we were there it was at Maria's, would not recommend there, I had the Chicken Sofrita and it is meant to be a chicken in a garlic sauce. Well when it came it was just a chicken fillet that had a thin sauce with a few mushrooms thrown if for effect, and not sure where the garlic went.

The best meal we had was at the Asteria the Lamb Kleftiko is to die for. We also ate three times at Nicholas's not far from the olive wood shop (which my daughter and I spent alot on necklaces and bracelets), they come beautifully gift wrapped as well for presents to take home. Also ate at La Pizza La Piazza, Il Gusto, The Village, The Face, Schez Zuen the chinese restaurant.

We hired a jeep for the day e40.00 and we toured the whole of the top half of the island, and saw many places that we would not have got to see on a coach trip. Saw the real Corfu that Day.

Also did the Waterpark just outside Corfu town, that was a fantastic day and a trip by bus to Corfu Town, would recommend you don't buy the excursions from the reps they are just a rip off, we paid e17 euros each for the water park and Thompson wanted somewhere in the region of ?30 i think. Plus Air conditioned bus to Corfu town was only e4 euros each, bargain. There are plenty of places to buy these trips from and you pay roughly about the same at each one. We also did the Paragliding on the Main Beach, was something we wanted to do for ages and it was amazing.

Would like to thank Spiros the Barman, who kept us was supplied in Vodka, and Ouzo and who my daughter had a soft spot for, the gorgeous little Costa, we just wanted to put him in out suit case and bring him home with us. And of course Takos and Lousia for their genorosity and kindness throughout our stay. We met some fantastic people while we were here and have come home with some very special memories.

Would certainly recommend the Lousia Apartments and will definately go back there again.

My/Our Holiday Review:

We've been back nearly two weeks and I'm still feeling the benefits of our holiday. We've met some lovely people, tried as many Greek dishes as was possible in a week and seen some beautiful beaches and scenery.

The Louisa (Luisa) apartments were a fantastic choice, we were met at the side of the road by Chrisa, who proved to be a lovely, friendly soul. The studio we were given was spacious - actually it was HUGE! - and cleaned everyday by Dora, who, although she didn't speak any english, apart from the word "clean?" we had a good laugh with. The Pool Bar was convenient, clean and served both English and Greek dishes and was staffed by extremely friendly characters (watch out for Dimetrius - very dry humour, but a great guy).

We signed ourselves up for the Greek night, which was brilliant fun - recommended. We had planned to do a bit of site-seeing by car, but on seeing the roads, I chickened out (sad, but true) they are rather narrow, windy and a bit confusing (several ways of writing one place-name, one of them being in the Greek alphabet!). Instead, we decided not to book with our rep (I'll get onto him in a minute) and booked at SB Travel to go to Paleocastrista. The journey down was stunning and the views from the mountains were breathtaking. We stopped off on the way at a monastery (20mins - not long enough in our view) and on arrival at Paleo, were surprised to find that it was not the bustling town we'd expected, alhtough there was a secluded beach with a couple of restaurants close-by. The restaurant on the beach-front was particularly unfriendly and if you were English were treated with what appeared to be contempt - recommend the one where the coach drops you off and you can use the toilet! We decided to go on the glass-bottomed boat tour which was lovely, and not crowded like we'd expected (not sure where everyone else went). On the way back, we went to the Kumquat distillery and bought some liquer (the one made from the flowers is nicest) and via Bella Vista, which speaks for itself.

We only went to a few restaurants as the nice ones we found we went back to. Two Brothers restaurant where we met Eleni & Sam was gorgeous food and very cheap - we went there most evenings and they were so friendly and chatty, we learned a lot about the traditional Greek way of life. We also liked Il Gusto, slightly further along towards the beach. I would warn you away from Faro's which was in the main town of Sidari if you're eating as the food was shocking and not so cheap, however, the view was lovely - across the beach. If you get there at the right time, you'll see the beautiful sunset. The main bar street itself was pretty quiet, we found that the couple of clubs opened at 12 and didn't really get going till about 1 or 2am and the bars were pretty empty. The touts were a bit annoying and persistent but you get that anywhere on holiday.

The beach (Canal d'Amour)and surrounding area was just beautiful, but watch out for the 'smelly bridge' and resulting river running down into the sea. Blondie's bar and restaurant were good for beach-days - they have a free sunbed policy and it seems that if you buy a drink it's yours all day. Alternatively if you want to be on the main part of the beach, the two sunbeds and umbrella came to 7.50Euros.

Our rep and the holiday company were the only disappointment - we expected good things from Portland as they are part of the Thomson Holidays chain, but we had no guide from the Airport, the driver was so laid back he couldn't be arsed to announce our stop, so we sat like lemons until we figured out we were there. We saw the Rep Joe, a total of 4 times: twice walking down the street when he totally ignored us, once at our welcome, once at the next welcome. He missed out on us booking the island tour as he never came back to give us our tickets and collect our money. He was totally disinterested in being a rep and totally uninspiring: his comment about the fact that not many people had turned up for his welcome being "I'm not impressed" and felt that it was easier for him to just give the booklet and for us to tell him what we wanted to do. The trips were expensive and the days were not very well scheduled.

That said, we had a lovely time and would definitely go back there again.

(PS: you can change Travellers Cheques at the little place next to Fairy Dreams - turn left out of Luisa) :)

Just returned from two weeks in the Louisa apts.in Melitza near the Canal d'amour.Had a great holiday, except we had a few thunder storms and rain the second week. The best place to eat was The Orchard on the road out of Melitza towards Peroulades. Fabulous food and good friendly service from George the owner and his wife ,also Chris the waiter. We ate there five nights out of fourteen.

There is also a nice little beach opposite the Melitza supermarket, which was very clean and you could walk out into the lovely clear sea for yards and yards without going out of your depth. Also good for eating out was The Tree Little Pigs restaurant and Nicholas. We did the coach trip to Paleokastritsa which we really enjoyed also Corfu Town.

Would definately go back again.

My/Our Holiday Review:

Just came back from 10 days staying at the Louisa apartments. Corfu airport quite small and it was quite quiet as well. About 1hr 30mins on coach to apartments. The Louisa aparts are just set back slightly which is good as some of the pools you can see from the road. We had a 2 bedroomed room which was quite big and clean and typically greek (basic) great maid service as she washed the pots and made beds. Large shared balcony which was great as we had 3 kids, this overlooked the garden bit. Friendly owners - just watch the barman doesnt chuck you in the pool!! Pool area nice and clean and wasnt busy at all. Weather was a bit changeable, had a few thunderstorms and a bit of rainfall, think they had a really hot May, so the weather was breaking a bit.

The resort itself was great, the Louisa is located in the quieter area of the canal d'amour, if you follow the road to the beach and round you hit sidari main street which is a bit louder!! We loved eating in 'the family' which is right at the 3 little pigs. Very greek and home cooked food. In fact we didnt have a rubbish meal at all. Be warned there are bars that cater for the 'Brit abroad' Eastenders/Corrie etc.. all being shown.

The beach in Sidari was ok, you can hire a Pedaloe for 10 euros for an hour and you can pedal back to the Canal d'amour area. 7.50euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. If you walk up the side of the Saxophone bar (across the road from Louisa) that brings you out to a really nice complex which overlooks the canal d'amour - very picturesque.

We all had a great time, and hope to go back one day. Happy holidays.

apartments clean, pool nice, but bathroom was like the black hole of Calcutta, shower curtain like something out of the arc and useless (take care the floor gets very wet and slippy.) Make sure you have a shower before 6.30pm or there is no hot water. About the resort - They don't tell you in the brochure about the smelly river that you have to cross if you want to go into Sidari, this river stinks, it's so bad you want to be sick, and on a couple of nights we could smell it from the pool bar at the apartments.

Also the beaches were dirty with plastic bottles, coke cans etc, the only rubbish bins we saw were skips on the side of the road overflowing with rubbish, (not nice to smell in the heat.) Don't forget to take plenty of mosquito repellant or you will be eaten alive (We thought the smelly river didn't help).

The only high point of the holiday was the Three little pigs taverna great food & good service. The rest of the bars and restaurants seem to be very similar ie: Sky sports on large screens or showing bad pirate copies of the latest films, Coronation street, Eastenders and Emmerdale. Not very GREEK! As for the Portland/Thompson rep we only saw 1 for 5 minutes on the night we arrived and that was to hand out the trip booklet. Finally the airport at Corfu is dreadfull!! only 2 carousels and 6 flights arrived the night we did, it was chaos, and going home wasn't any better we had to queue outside for nearly 2 hours before we could check in.

My/Our Holiday Review:

Louisa Appartments are lovely. they are family run and it shows as they couldn't do enough for us. our room was very basic - with no real view - we had eveything we required, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, air con (55euros for 2 weeks) well worth it!. maid was fab and came 6 times a week.

The pool and bar area were superb. apparts set off main street and so very peaceful and relaxing around the pool. food and drinks are reasonably priced - although there are supermarkets and resteraunts 3 mins walk away.

Beaches are not that nice. we have been spoilt in the past and gone to some idyllic greek islands before - the beaches in Sidari were nowhere near as nice as elsewhere and so we were quite disappointed.

there are numerous bars and resteraunts around Louisa Apparts or if you want nightlife - the centre of Sidari is a 10 min stroll with bars and resteraunts on the way.

Three pigs was good resteraunt - Greek dancing every night with fire and plate smashing!!

Pizza de la Pizza (near appartments) the onw with the pizza oven is fantastic. we ate their twice. superb pizzas and staff are very friendly.

would recommend trip to Corfu town - it is fabulous. you feel like your in Rome with the superb buildings. so much character with a cosmopolitan feel. Go in the evening on this trip (6 euros by coach) and ensure you go to the main square - it has fashionable bars and coffee shops and resteraunts all in square. fantastic!!

Also go on a trip to Erikousa Island - absolutely beautiful. the sea there is how it should be in Sidari - crystal clear!!!

hOPE THis helps.

My/Our Holiday Review:

As a couple, we chose the Louisa Apartments in Sidari as they were one of the few places that we could book a 10 day holiday.

The apartment itself was pretty average for Greece (having stayed in Rhodes and Kephalonia previously). However there were small niggles - for example plastic bags used to stuff small holes in the wall, shower curtain fixtures only loosely fixed to the wall, dust grit and chewing gum underneath the beds on our arrival and the fact that you only get one roll of loo paper and then you have to buy your own. The biggest criticism was that we had to share a balcony with next door - a basic partition would be very easy to install.

The location itself is out of town and not as noisy as some. However - if you are a couple looking for a quiet relaxing holiday and want to read at night on the balcony - then this is not for you. You still get constant pool bar music till midnight and on one night a nearby restaurant had a live band which made sleep absolutely impossible until after the encore at 1pm.

On a positive note - the apartment owners are very helpful and the Thompson rep (Claire) was lovely and was a great help to us.

As to Sidari itself - we did not like it at all. We were expecting a busy resort catering for all - but it was a complete dump that appeared to have been built for the express purpose of lining as many restaurants, bars and apartments in as small a space as possible.

The vast majority of holiday makers appeared to be people who were determined to have a good time and make sure that everyone could see they were having a good time. It is very English abroad - Pints at 'Winston Churchills pub' and eating at the restaurant that sells grub on a '13 inch' plate (English food!) are popular. Having said that there are a wide range of greek restaurants available and some were very good, as was Sze Chuan (the Chinese restaurant.

The beach absolutely stunk, even the rep called what looked like a sewer leading into the sea 'smelly river' - my wife would not go in the water. The Canal D'amour beaches are better - but you have to get there early to bag a slot and you don't get the sun for a lot of the day as most of the beaches are North facing. Paradise beach (advise hiring a bike) was excellent though.

We asked to be moved from Sidari after 3 days as we disliked it so much. We were moved to the Pantokrator Apartments in Barbati which were fantastic - thoroughly enjoyed the place and the resort.

To be fair - we are a couple that don't like noise and value peace and quiet, and enjoy exploring local culture. Therefore if you like lots of activity and nightclubs ignore this review as you may like Sidari.

These apartments are excellent value for money. We had a fantastic holiday here. We couldn`t fault them. The apartments are very clean and modern. Air con was in both bedrooms for only 30 euros a week! The food at the bar is excellent value for money with room service too! Everyone is so friendly here. We loved the BBQ night (food and greek dancing very good). We met some lovely people. Kids club excellent!! Reps were fantastic with all the kids. Loads of activities for them all.

Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Agualand is definetly worth a visit. Sidari waterpark is worth a day out, (but its a bit of a trech though, and the drinks a bit pricey!)

All in all a fab fortnight and will definetly be going back!!

First time in Corfu been to Greece before pre children.Arrived at the Louisa apartments late at night.Very tired children in tow.Nothing was too much trouble for Christa who showed us to our apartment.Apartments were very clean and well equipped (proper kettle corkscrew and hairdryer)The cot had been made up ready. After the children were put to bed my husband went over to the bar to get a drink and came back with Christa two beers and a menu. She then brought us food to the balcony.Bliss.She even whispered not to wake the kids up.

The kids club was fantastic.Purpose built room with air con.Really bubbly and keen reps Bev and Amy who our daughter loved.Yassou baby!

Corfu is a beautiful place Corfu town stunning Paleokastritsa breathtaking.Loads to see and do.The Louisa apartments are ideally situated away from the main area of Sidari which is very busy and a bit naff in places. The Louisa is close enough to everything you need but quiet at night when you want to get to sleep.Good supermarkets close by and plenty of resturants to choose from.

The only slight niggles where the mosquitos ate my son alive the first night.Take a couple of mosiquito burners you need more than one in a 2 bed apartment. The floors in the rooms are all marble as they are in most hotel rooms.Deadly when wet with a little one in tow.

Overall the Louisa is excellant the staff are fantastic pool is great rooms are nice.Watch Luna the dog she eats the pidgeons!!!!

Absolutely brilliat!!

Anyone wanting excellent value for money and location should stay at the Louisa apartments although they are only rated a two star in the brochure they are far better then many 3 or 4 star properties i have stayed in.

On arrival you are welcomed by the receptionist who can not do enough for you she is so lovely and helpful, along with all the other staff who are equally nice.

The accomodation has the best of both as it is far enough from sidari centre (approx 10 mins walk) so it is not noisey at night. However it is still in easy staggerring distance from the nearest restaurants and bars which begin 50 metres away.

Sunbeds are always available which is great! and there is a great variety of ages staying in the accomodation.

You have to take a stroll to sunset beach the views are oustanding although it takes about 30-40 mins to walk there is plenty to see on the way. Alternatively hire a bike which is only 3 euros a day.

Another must is to go pony trekking at sunset, throguh olive groves and along the beach. (Book in sidari centre and it only costs 14 euros Bargain!)

Food wise check out cactus Jacks for massive portion of mexican food, or alternatively calypso bar in the centre for a variety of food, make sure you sit out on the decked area at the back for great views over the sea.

Hope you have as great a time as we did..

My/Our Holiday Review:

Corfu is the greenest of the Greek islands,we have holidayed in Corfu 9 years, and have never had an upset tummy, the food is cooked mainly in olive oil and beautifully presented.

The locals at the Canal damour are very friendly. We have made good friends with Costas and Emily at the Station Cafe Bar , Damiya at Damiyas Yard. This lady cooked us a meal when we arrived on a very late flight. My parents first holiday abroad at the tender age of 69 was so good that they have returned every year with us.

A great day trip to a secluded beach on Theos boat is a must, this little man is so funny , its a great day for all the family, but dont forget the sun lotion. The beach BBQ is lovely and so is the free wine. The Greek night at Korakiana is BRILLIANT ,good food, free flowing wine and entertainment all night. We hire a 4wd car and travel around the island , the roads are not like home ,there are many bends and fast drivers.Kassiopi is very pretty fishing village. Roda is alovely place and the beach at Paleocastritsa is fantastic but very busy.

Ilove Corfu especially Sidari it is very family friendly .HOPE YOU ENJOY TOO.

PLease dont go to Loula if you want a nice holiday.

They are really friendly to you when you first turn up but as soon as they suss out you are eating in town or even having a drink in your apartment, they turn nasty and totally blank you. No-one sits in the bar, the atmosphere is dreadful.

Drinks are tiny, 1 Euro for a flat glass of cheap Cola.

Yes they have to make a living, but when they are telling your children not to eat crisps they have bought in the shop next door things seem to leave a bad taste.

The pool area is grass covered, but you cant sit on it. You are asked to sit on very uncomfortable sun lounger. After the first day we went over the road as it was very unfriendly.

I would not recommend Loulas to my worst enemy.

this was our first time in sidari, we got there when it was dark and i thought my god were have i come but the next morning in day light it was not that bad.

Loula and her husband Yan looked after the place and were very nice people very friendly and helpful and there son was very nice too came every morning to say good morning we spent many night with Loula and her family and my 2 children loved her she was like there grandma played pool with them at night gave them free drinks and always made sure we had plenty to eat.I have read some of the reviews that people have wrote and felt i had to had my review i have seen people there getting upset when there told not to lay on the grass but thay are told at the welcome meeting and there are signs up also eating there own food there which is very disrespectful when Loula makes her living on selling food.

We used to go up town at night but the kids always wanted to go back to Loulas to have a drink with her she and her family are very nice people and if you respect other peoples rules and home you will get respect back we will go back for a holiday but only at Loulas she keeps in touch and i can say she became a very good friend..

We lasted two days in Loula before being re-allocated. I was totally happy there for the first two days, very basic but OK. Loula is owned by Loula who is an elderly Greek lady and her husband. These two people are lovely. But one chap was not. He screamed at my daughter for sitting on the grass, putting her towel on the grass and eating bubbke gum she had bought in the supermarket. We decided to spend the next day over the road which infuriated him more, and in the end after him screaming and shouting at me and my daughter Thomson Holidays were called in who were fantastic.

We were reallocated within an hour. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. The pool was green and murky, like pea soup, the bar food was minimal, and no-one sat in the bar on the night, only the Greek people. It was not a friendly place to be in at all.

Its about a twenty minute walk away from the centre of Sidari, along a very busy main road. Not suitable if you have young kids.

We took a local coach trip to St George which cost 5 Euro, the beach there was stunning, a fab day out!

Sidari was great for eating out, a three course meal could be got for 5 euros but the drinks are dear to compensate. 4 Euros for a vodka and coke, very strong ones mind!

Could not fault the weather, it was amazing but look out for the mossies especially at about 8pm to 10pm, I was bitten all over despite having spray on.

My/Our Holiday Review:

My husband and I have holiday'd in Sidari several times before and each time have had a good holiday. This year we took our daughter and three children on their first foreign holiday.

We found that Sidari was sadly changing for the worst, getting more like an 18-30 resort. We actually witnessed the first violance we had ever seen there.

The accomadation at the Loula was average, it was very clean and the maids were excellent. However, there were are two big downfalls at the Loula. They do not appear to like children and seem not to want them to enjoy themselves. The other is that some of the accomodation is dangerous, one of the studios we were allocated had the kitchin and toilet downstairs and the bedroom up upstairs, this was allocated to myself and nine year old partially blind grandaughter, obviously we could not use it. There was no veranda or terrace just straight out onto the path facing a shop. We had no alternative but to bunk in with the others.

The pool bar has an unfriendly atmosphere and the snack menu is diabolical and expensive. The children were constantly being told off by the owner which eventually led us into not using the pool or the pool bar. We were not the only ones who felt like this. Several families with children felt like this.

When complaining to the rep. all she had to say was that she was aware that they had to try to teach the owner how to smile. I think one would have cracked his face. If you are thinking of going to the Loula don't take your children. Funnily enough Skytours offer free child places at this accomodation.

My/Our Holiday Review:

The Louvros apartments were in a great location close to a few supermarkets, bars and restaurants but away from the hustle and bustle of Sidari's main strip. The apartments themselves were clean and tidy and we were lucky to get a two bedroomed apartment even though we were meant to have a one bedroomed apartment, we also had a lovely big balcany. We never spent much time at the bar as we found owners 'very friendly'. Instead we went next door to the three stars for a drink before heading down the strip. The pool was nice but we used to go to the Sunflower's pool next door for a change. We found the Salt and Pepper restaurant just over the road a nice friendly place to eat. Sidari was a great resort with something for everyone. The calypso bar was good as was Cesars. I would reccomend Sidari for all ages groups wanting a not overly lively holiday
