Kavos Hotels and Apartments L - Z Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: thomas cook- june 2007 Opinion submitted in August 2007 by : Nicola- stalybridge- all of us were18 years old Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: i was absolutely dreading goin here after i read some of the reviews but it was awesome we all loved every minute of it and didnt want to come home. You have got stuff to do during the day, jet skiing, bananana boating, dohnuting, paragliding (all your water sports really). you can also get a trip to the 3rd largest water park in europe (aqualand) which i would recommend it was well good. i would also recommend going on the booze cruz boat to the blue lagoon and the crazy speedboat where a quarter of the boat goes under the water. the beach wasnt the best but i did not see a condom and it got nicer as you walked up.the bit of the beach we had was where atlantis was which was an open air beach party every night so a few bottles end up on the beach but they get cleaned up. The hotel is really nice the maid came in every day and cleaned (so got rid of all the sand wed brought in) the pool is only open 10-630 which wasnt that bad and their was a 1 euro charge to use a sun bed but that was for a day and they charged 2.50 to hire one on the beach so its not bad really. the people who run the hotel are so nice and friendly.the men who run tango bar(the hotels bar) are so funny and high five every one as they give you free jelly shots. There is a mcdonalds and a kfc but the best place to eat we thought was the drunken squid. The best club by far was rockys. it played cheesy music at about 1230 and then moved on to a bit of indie. it also had the best dj in the world. dj wiggy he was mint. the next best club was rolling stones it played indie music in the back. most people end up at atlantis which if you walk straight through you eend up on a beach party and the club after is next door and their is a bonfire on the beach everynight and they do a bbq. one reason i was dreadin kavos was because people say it really smelt. You do get a smell every now and then but it only lasts about 10 secs and then it goes. 99% of the time you cant smell anything. I wasn't looking forward to this holiday but in the end i didnt want to leave i loved everything about it and would go back in a heart beat. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: Thomas Cook - 2007 Opinion submitted in June 2007 by : Gez, Nathy, Lee, Sean, Scott, Brini, Natalie, Heidi - Wales Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Kavos is fantastic! A fantstic place to go for a wild time at night and a relaxing time in the day!!! Lefkimi is in the centre of town - everything in stagering distance!!! Best place to go - Tango, Rolling Stone, Crash and the foam party in club S#X is a must!!! We noticed no smell in Kavos and mozzies and wat not wer not a problem!!!!!! The beach is a wicked place to relax and catch a fantastic tan, but keep an eye out for the sales reps who constantly ask u to book excersions to random places! Tell them nicely to bugger off if they dont interest u!!! Lefkimi hotel is great, rooms basic but what do a group of party animals need?? Everybody is so friendly but u cant take anybody back to ur room late at night, but just like us ull find other places to have fun! Kavos is wicked, a great place to party!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Carrie - Birmingham (18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 17) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Well what can I say Kavos is excellent!! We travelled as a party of 6 girls and our expectations were above what we had expected. The Lefkimi Hotel is smack bag in the middle of everything. The pool is a ok size, enough room for everyone, didn't problems getting a sunbed they did cost 1 euro a day though! They make you have a safety deposit box in reception where you leave your money, passport etc, worth having even if you do pay 5 euros a week for it. Air conditioning is 35 euros per week, not worth having, as it was cool enough at night. Our room was very basic but clean which is all you want as you only have to sleep in there. 1 problem is the shower . . . well it's more like a base you stand on and thats about it!! no extractor fan so can get very hot in there and tiled floor gets soaking!! BE CAREFUL!! KAVOS itself, what a place. Step out and turn right for all the restaurants, and left for all the clubs. It does have a slight odour to it, but you don't notice it that much. Recommendations: For food you've got to go to; Slizzlers, and Desperados is just over the road from Lefkimi and is great!!! For bars the best place is BUZZ, what a place, great surroundigns music is so varied, brill for everyone. Rolling Stone is good too, as is 42nd Street. All in all a great resort for young clubbers, a very very loud place, not recommended for people over 30 really as there are a lot of young people average age around 21/22ish!! Go and stay in Lefkimi, chilled out hotel by day. Hardcore nightclub by night! WICKED!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - September 2005 Opinion submitted in Sept 2005 by : Stacey, Scotland (20,20) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: After reading some of the reviews on this hotel and resort I was a bit worried but when we got there we were really surprised..the hotel is really nice and is right in the middle of Kavos, has its own bar attached and is next door to Futures and across the road from KFC!! The hotel was kept very clean and our room was cleaned every day except Sunday. The pool isnt very big but we could always get a sunbed (which is 2 euros for the day!!) and the pool area is always clean. Kavos itself does smell a little during the day but we hardly noticed it. The beach isnt very good at all, although there are some watersports available (we went on jet skis A++!!) The only excursion we went on was the BBQ boat, we booked it through thomas cook for 36 euros then found it on sale at one of the local shops for 20!! When looking at some of the other apartments around Kavos, I would definetely say that ours was one of the best, if not the best for location, cleanliness etc. You also get a discount card for the restaurant Desperados which has amazing food! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook 11 july 2005 Opinion submitted in Sept 2005 by : sam, sammy-jo southend essex 19 18 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: kavos is great. i went with my friend think a bigger group would be better. the hotel was nice and in a great location. walk out the door and everythings there. never made it in for breackfast but food is cheap anyway. drinks are reasonable but we brought drink from the shops and drank at our room before going out works out alot cheaper in the long run. if money is tight theres a gr8 baggette place at the top of the strip e2.50 n there pretty nice. if you go tomas cook make sure you do the bar crul it was e17 but a gr8 way of makin friends and a free shot in each barnot that i rembered alot by the end of the night.as every1 said the hotel was strickd but you might b able 2 sneack ppl in managed it a couple of times. all in all the holiday was great and im going back next year --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: thomas cool- july 05 Opinion submitted in July 2005 by : erin and linsey - newcastle 19, 19 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: accom is clean but freezing... cant bring people back men sat at reception watching til everyone is in dont use phonebox at hotel it is sweating feel closterphobic.. kavos is awesome amazing night life loved it doesnt smell people exagrtete everything great bout hol except couldnt bring ppl home! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: July 2005 Opinion submitted in July 2005 by : Erin, Stace, Jade and Kel ( 18, 18, 19, 19 ) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Lefkimi is a clean place to stay in very strict though u can have guests in but only for a while they check up on you and u have to be very quiet when goin back to your room... their is a long list of breakages u will b charged for we got charged 30euros for a chair on the balcony! nice safe hotel no chance of being burglered.. room very small but whattya expect? lefkimi has nice pool area always full off people.. lefkimi is right in the centre opisate fire bar and next door to futures! wicked location 10/10 .. Kavos was excellent just what i expected lazy days by the pool and crazy nights not getting in until 6 in the morning. The staff at lefkimi are brill, receptionists are really nice and freindly, the old lady that works there adopted us as her daughters when we were ther, shes beilliant, Yannis, the odd job man was funny gave us free shots when we went into the attached Tango bar every night. the pool isnt the biggest in kavos but i spent my days there it was excellent. Best places to eat that we found were Eves garden 3 course meal for 10Euros and you could have anything off of the menu. breakfast we found the village taverna to be the best. Pennys kitchen is good 3 courses for 8.90 on a selected menu and the Italian near the barn was excellent yet another 3 course for 10Euros and anything off the menu. You have to visit Tango bar, buzz, snobs, rockys, empire, 42nd street, edelwiess, roadnlock emphis, and thats just to name a few. This is the best holiday i have had would def recommend it to anyone looking for a good girlies hol. The reps were wicked never bothered you left you to your own devices gret. kelly was brill think she was still pissed from the night before when she was taking us to the airport , what a laugh. Scott was ggood as well you saw him about and was always where he said he would be, not that we needed him. All in all a fab holiday booking up to go again next year and i cant wait! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lefkimi Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook/Sunset - Aug 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : Tina Johnston - Newcastle (18,18) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: What a holiday!! That had to be the best and maddest week of my life! Before going to Kavos I read all the reviews telling people that if they hadn't already booked up, it wasn't too late. My advice would be..dont listen to it! A holiday is what you make of it and there is a lot to make of Kavos! It is true that it smells pretty bad, but after a few drinks in one of the many bars it doesn't matter anymore! The Lefkimi Hotel is smack bang in the middle of the main strip and everything is in staggering distance. The rooms are basic and get really hot, so a fan is definately a necessity! There are loads of mosquitoes aswell so take anything you can to stop them biting you! Air freshener for your room would also be a help. The cleaners empty the bins every day but the smell is always lingering! The hotel staff were friendly enough, and one woman on the reception desk was lovely. The pool isnt very big, but its great for cooling you down after about 20 minutes in the sun..it was too hot to sit for any longer! Watch out for Aleka at the snack bar, shes lovely but dont get on the wrong side of her! You could end up with a 50euro fine for cracking a sunbed!!! If you go with Thomas cook, then watch out for two of the reps, Scott and Mike..or Keith and Dave as we called them! They were great fun. Definately go on the bar crawl with them if you get the chance, 10 euros for one of the best nights out ever! There are so many bars along the Kavos main strip that its impossible to conquer them all in a week. Especially since you get stopped every 2 minutes by the PRs outside. Their offers on drinks may sound tempting but they r probs still ripping you off! Plan B is a good bar with nice PRs outside so go there! Other good bars include 42nd street, snobs, empire and rockys. the venue is a good night club which is open til 7am. After a week in Kavos, a night out in Newcastle will never be the same again! Watch out for the Fire bar directly opposite the hotel, the man outside will do anything possible to drag you in but it isnt worth it! The beaches arent that great and there isnt a great deal to do during the days other than recover from the night before and prepare for that night! I wouldnt reccommend the foam parties at club S*x, too many men trying to get their hands as far up your skirts as possible, not pleasant. They dont take no for an answer either. The only thing I missed while away was a decent cup of tea and a sunday dinner, other than that, there wasnt time to think of home! I would also reccommend a day trip to the aqua park, that was a good day with loads of good water slides and plenty space to sit and sunbathe! I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I did, I'll definately be going back again! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Hotel and Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: Sunset - June/July 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Sarah - Newcastle (18,17,17,17,17,17) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: After reading some of the reviews i wasn't all that excited about staying at the lemon grove. However, i was pleasently surprised when we arrived. There was no awful smell. Lemon grove has clean grounds [we saw the pool & footbaths cleaned every night]. The food is okay, if a little over-priced compared to some places down the strip [Mad Max's just opposite the entrance of Lemon Grove is FAB if you're eating on a budget] The hotel is in the best location i would say. At one end of the strip...set back off the main road, easy walking distance to everywhere, and no noise at night. One downside...you had to pay 2 Euros for sunbeds & there was no aircon. Fans were only 2 Euro a night to hire though and they were huge. The staff are okay...Spearos was lovely though and the security guard was hilarious and helpful...he showed us people having sx on the beach, laughing his head off about it and shining his torch [so beware!]...and also didn't mind coming to our rescue when my friends pulled their toilet system off the wall at 4.30am and it started flooding the place. Spearos fixed it properly in the morning and we didnt even get charged. The receptionist & waitresses are friendly enough, but our friend had a heat rash, a doctor we didnt want was called and we ended up with a pointless bill. [Which, incidently, we didn't pay anyway because he never came back]. One thing about Spearos. At night he changes. He goes wild if you make noise or have people in your rooms. So just wait until after 12 for him to go home =). Security will nose around if you're being VERY noisy, but they weren't horrible. Maids came in every two days...our sheets & towel [yes, you only get one. And its a hand towel] were only changed 2 or 3 times in our week though. The rooms are basic but not bad. Spearos even lent us his broom when ours got too sandy from us trailing in the beach every night! The watersports on the beach is amazing. Decently priced. JS'c Cocktail bar is THE BEST bar in Kavos. Strongest cocktails, 2 for 5 euros. Music was immense [R'n'B, Hip-Hop], the DJ is mental! and the bar staff are so nice!! You HAVE to go to atlantis when the nights over. The music is good and you can just sit and chat on the beach. We met so many great people on the beach...and everyone has good crack on. The foam party at club s*x is also a must! Very messy but very fun! Just don't wear flip-flops. If you want nice, authentic greek food go to the village. Its a taverna on the strip, just up from the british pub adn the food is lush. The waiters even do a greek dancing & plate smashing rountine. The nights at trinity are good. Drinks are the most expensive we found but were good quality...a lot of bars water down their promo drinks/shots. Oh and if you're on a cheap night out...buy drink from the supermarkets which are open pretty much all night some of them. You can't take them into most bars, but they are easy to sneak in. Beware of PR's...most are lovely but all are very pushy...and make sure they go with you to the bar so you get the deal you were promised. I can't wait to go back to Kavos, and i would definately consider staying at the Lemon Grove Hotel again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Hotel and Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: GreatLateDeals.com June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : L Hind - London , (46. 33, 31) Resort Rating: Below Average Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Lemon Grove Hotel and Apartments are situated at the start of the main strip that runs the length of Kavos Town, 100m off the main road. The complex consists of 4 x 3 story blocks of apartments (all with balcony) with restaurant, terrace, bar, with sky TV and swimming pool. The apartments are directly on the beach (6ft strip of sand). Apartments: Apartments were tidy, with tiled floors throughout. Due to the proximity to the beach, the floors were a little sandy. The studio apartments cater for 2-3 people with single beds (3rd bed is sometimes a foldaway / camp bed) though ours had 3 single beds. There is a small wardrobe, and a few bedside tables, which was satisfactory storage for all the clothing we took. The kitchen is small and basic (sink, kettle, 2 ring cooker, fridge and a few pots and pans, crockery and cutlery) but with the great foods deals, it's unlikely you'll utilise it very much. Bathrooms are very basic with shower (no Bath), which does not have a curtain. Excess water runs into central drain, so floors can become wet and slippery. The complex only provides 1 small towel per person, so remember to take your own. Rooms appear to be cleaned every most days by mid-day, but cleaners will only clean your room if you have vacated it. For the people who complained rooms were only cleaned once a week, I can only assume they slept in late every day. The complex provides safe deposit boxes for 10.00 euros per week. Air- conditioning units can be hired for 50.00 euros per week. (Recommended) Sun-Loungers are 2 euros per day either on beach or beside the pool. Food and Drink This is a Mecca for the 18-30's 'party all night' crowd. The town comes alive after dark with 100's of bars and restaurants vie for your custom. The bar PR's will pester you, but that's their job after all. Most bars have drinks promotions that seem too good to be true, e.g. 2 cocktails + 3 free shots for 5 euro / drink as much local beer, spirits or cocktails for 1 hour for 10 euros etc. It is worth remembering that most of this is watered down spirits and the cocktails are mostly fruit juices, so generally not the deals you think you are getting. Many of the larger clubs have themed events (foam parties, fancy dress etc) and quite often have 'famous' DJ's to attract the crowds. The bars at either end of the strip, or behind the 'strip' tend to be far less raucous and don't seem to water down the drinks as much either. The Beetle bar and the Famous pub were great places we visited. The restaurants cater for ' English' tastes as well as providing some classic Greek dishes, and many have well priced meal deals. (3 courses for less than 10 euro) I can recommend the 'big steak house' opposite the entrance to the lemon grove apartments for a great T bone steak and wonderful Greek Meze. Most also do 'English' breakfast for about 3 euros, which is very popular with visitors The resort is actually quite expensive in comparison to other areas of Corfu Kavos town. Aside from the nightlife, there really isn't very much to Kavos town. By day, it's quiet, dirty and rather smelly, as the pubs and bars clear up ready for another night of fun. The beaches are sandy and have average quality. The sea is generally clean, but does have a great deal of seaweed. On 2 nights of our visit it stank of rotting seaweed and sewage, but otherwise was fine. There are plenty of places offering water sports, as well as loads of booking agents for other tours. There are plenty of small supermarkets and trinket-shops that are surprisingly well stocked, with all your grocery needs. There are several great shops selling silver at a reasonable price. The island seems to be very 'open' with regard to the sale of porn, and many shops have magazines, videos etc openly on display. Worth remembering if you are travelling with children. I would certainly recommend getting out of Kavos for a few days, either by car/ quad / bike or on an organised tour and visiting other parts of the island, which is a spectacular place. If you get the chance, travel into Corfu town, and wander the Venetian style streets, stopping off to visit the old and new fortress. (About 1 hour's drive) Paleokastritsa, to the west of the island is very beautiful, (though very touristy) with several amazing beaches and crystal clear water. This is an excellent place for scuba diving and snorkelling. A few km. above this is the fortress AngeloKastro, which is well worth the trip. The view of Corfu from here is breathtaking, especially at dawn and dusk. (AngeloKastro, is officially closed for restoration work until August 2007) which means to can only walk as far as the Kastro walls) On a personal note, I would certainly come back to Corfu, and would visit the Lemon Grove Hotel again, but Kavos was not to my taste and I'd use it as no more than a base for travelling. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Sunset - Aug 2005 Opinion submitted in Feb 2006 by : 18 ppl (16-19) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: The apts were very basic but wot can u xpect. we went 4a wk in aug2005, the breakfasts aren't gr8 but ther are loadsa bars very nearby selling gorgeous food v.cheap!! Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : David (22) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: I went for 2 weeks with a friend to the Lemon Grove Apartments AKA Lemon Grove Hotel. The resort itself is very good. Clean pool, good service, friendly staff - more than willing to help us. The beach was great and the sea was clean. Watch out for the pier though...its on its last legs!!! The downfall was the apartment room. We only got 1 small clean towel and clean bed sheets once a week. in our case just the once (after we complained) The noise levels were high and the smell of the town its self was a little off. We rented a fan for 2 weeks from reception for the price of 2 Euros per night. This was a big help!!! There is no air conditioning in the rooms. We had an extra bed in the room! What for? There was 3 beds in the room and only 2 of us? But it provided an extra height to put our things on. Food, drink, supermarkets are all good value for money! you will find your own shops and find out for yourself which suits you best! PRs are very annoying at night trying to pull people into restaurants, bars, clubs etc! Take extra towels, tissue paper, and sun cream! VERY HOT!!! Be Prepared! Kavos is only for young people!!! NOT a family place! If you do not like KAvos when you go...rent a car and book trips..time goes in fast but can be long time if your just sticking to Kavos! Enjoy yourself! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Cosmos Discounts) Cosmos Sept 2004 Opinion submitted in Sept 2004 by : Tim Gilliland - Huddersfield (35,37,18,16) Resort Rating: Poor Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: As with all Holidays we were all looking forward to ours with eager anticipation. The flights went well, the coach transfer was OK, albeit without a Rep.. As we pulled into the resort all seemed OK. Then we got to the apartment at approx. 1am, the entire complex was in darkness, we had to find our own rooms until out of the darkness somebody showed us our room. What a horrible place, small, dirty and extremely smelly. The kitchen was about 1.5metres square, the cooking top was two camping style rings sat on top a workspace approx. 500mm wide adjacent to the sink, and that was the kitchen except for a fridge. There was no seating area, only three single beds, in our two bedroom apartment. The Bathroom had a toilet, Wash hand basin, and a shower tray, no shower curtain, so everytime you had a shower everything in the bathroom got soaked, the only other thing in the bathroom was a broken electrical socket, with no fascia, just exposed wiring. The whole area within and outside our apartment stank of sewerage. At this point we all thought, we need to be moved. After this initial shock we decided to see if we could get a drink somewhere, which we did across the road at the 'Face Bar' drinks were 3.5 Euro's a pint, cheep, NO.. In the morning we attended the Reps, welcome meeting all they were interested in was selling excursions. We asked the Reps about moving, only to be told everywhere was full, but if we still wanted to move, we could try to find our own accommodation, and pay for it. All in all the resort was horrible, smelly, loud, overpriced and not a place I would wish anybody to end up in for a long awaited rest. Try walking down the street at between 9-10am in the morning, seeing all the discarded food, booze and vomit. As there is only one Street through Kavos its hard to avoid it. We booked an excursion one evening to Corfu Town on the boat, on the boat you could purchase a small can of 'Amstel' beer for 3.5 Euro's, we later found a supermarket just outside Kavos where you could but six of the same cans of 'Amstel for 3.6 Euro's. The boat trip was totally boring, the shops in Corfu Town where the boats harboured were disappointing and totally geared to holiday gift junk. The boat trip back to Kavos was freezing outside and like a sweat box inside, that was our last boat trip excursion. Unless all you want from your holiday is all night booze in horrible smelly little bars overcharging prices, to spend all day sleeping in you horrible smelly apartment this is not a holiday for you. The beech appears quite nice, I think the only reason the sea's not as clear as the west coast is because when the apartment owners clean the beech all the cig ends, all the rubbish are brushed into the sea to get rid of it. Our apartment had the sheets changed once in the whole of our two week stay. On the second week we hired a car from 'Peters Cars', they can be found as you go along the strip, left at the 'Fountain' Bar, (which we thought was a pleasant oasis in hell), down the road for about 100yards, Peters Cars were on the right hand side, we thought they were brilliant, pleasant, honest, and probably the cheapest on the resort. Getting the car was the best decision we made, we travelled all over the Island, although there wasn't a lot to do we got rid of the stink, we went up to the west coast one day and hired a motor boat, great fun, and did some snorkelling of paradise beech, the sea and the beeches only accessible by boat were lovely. The only thing to dread was going back to the resort of Kavos on a night. Apart from the shitty, smelly bars on the strip were a few bars that played pirate DVD'S nearly all day and night, most copies were of bad quality. Between the films they bars usually played 'Friends' episodes, usually the same one.. All in all the horrible was horrible and its great to be back in England, I would also like to say a special hello to our Holiday Reps, and who I hope I never see again, As for our Tour Operator, I will never be booking a Cosmos holiday again, ok the resort was bad, but Cosmos certainly made it worse. I would also like to extend a thank you to the Bar 'PR'S' who pestered everytime you walked past a bar or restaurant, and the people on a night selling hats and roses, horrible people, to the people selling dodgy DVD'S everywhere. AT LEAST I WON'T BE SEEING THEM AGAIN... Throughout the holiday during the second week we travelled all around the island, Kavos was definately the worst, the north & west of the island looked a far better bet. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Cosmos Discounts) Cosmos - Summer 2004 Opinion submitted in Oct 2004 by : Helen and Laura (19&23) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Well what can i say, Kavos is the place to be in the summer!!! it was the best holiday ever!!! Our room overlooked the restaurant and had two balcony's and was very clean...The hotel restaurant and beach facilities is family run and pool was excelllent. If i had to see what the bad points were i would say that the rooms do get very hot and sometimes unbearable to sleep in and also the showers was just a small tiled troph so the whole bathroom floor gets drenched. Mosquitos are definately not a problem at night as long as you have a mosquito plug thing and keep the windows open but the shutters closed. Looking at all other nearby hotel/apartments overall..lemon grove hotel is definately the best for location as well as facilties and accomodation Oh and big up sexy dohnut man!! bo selecta and power to da people!! ha ha --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Cosmos Discounts) Cosmos - June 2004 Opinion submitted in July 2004 by : Sian, Calli (16) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Review: Kavos is a great place to go to if you want nightlife!! If you're bothered about accommodation then DO NOT go to Lemon Grove! The rooms are small & stuffy (but fans can be hired for 2 euros a day - even though they're not to good!) The bathroom is tiny & the shower is rubbish - you have to spend half hour in it just to wash your hair half decent! We went self catering but god knows how they can call it that - the cooker was just two electric hobs that are rubbish & there wasn't even any proper cutlery or plates! Our room was for two but there was only one dish & there wasn't even a decent saucepan! It didn't bother us about the kitchen though 'cause we ate out, there are loads of good places to eat out (can't remember what it's called but the restaurant outside the entrance to Lemon Grove is good & cheap!) There's a Macdonalds, a KFC & a Pizza Hut just down the road too! Don't eat the english breakfasts at Lemon Grove unless you wanna put on 3 stone while you're there! They're dripping in fat - you can see it on the plate & taste it! They do do a nice chicken roll though! The pool's nice & is always clean- a bit small though if there's loads of people in it or people have got lilo's! No worries though 'cause the sea is right under your nose if you get bored of the pool! There's not much beach to sunbath on though & you have to pay 2 euros a day to hire a sun lounger on the beach or by the pool! The water sports are good - there's a stand in the middle of the sea where you pay & wait for your turn, the ringo's (or doghnuts) are GREAT - the bloke that takes you out to the sea is crazy, he won't stop until you fall off (thats only if you wanna fall off though!) There are'nt many good shops to buy souveneirs from they all sell the same stuff (& that isn't much!) There is a good jewellery shop though & a few mini markets to buy your food from & your water (DONT get it from Lemon Grove 'cause its 2 euros a bottle there, & only 1.50 or 2 euros in the shops! There's a few good clothes shops too!) The maids are rubbish! They didn't change the sheets or give us clean towels for the whole time we were there (1 week) apparently they get changed once a week, so that's NEVER if you're only there for the amount of time we were! They're not very good at cleaning either, they just move things around & sweep things under the beds & then do a cr*p mopping job! Some people we met had things going missin out of there rooms - the maids were our suspects so get a safety box at reception! The staff are quite friendly but not very helpful! The nightlife was the best part of the holiday! The strip is just a minutes walk away from Lemon Grove & there's loads of bars & clubs to choose from! The PR's are all in competition to get you to there bar or club so you are always collered by them, some of them do have some good offers though! Most of the bars give you free drinks too if you're nice ha ha!! A few of the good bars: JC's (cocktail bar),the lounge (hip hop bar), rollin stone, the london bar & LOADS of other that are wicked! Crash was our favourite bar 'cause it played rNb & hip hop & the bar staff are the best! ESPECIALLY ALEX!!! (He's the Greek lad that works there!) Good clubs are: S*x (wicked foam parties!), Atlantis, After, Limelight & loads more! Buzz bar was really good too - it's more of a club than a bar - theres a shop that sells cheap drinks over the road so you don't have to spend a fortune on them in the bars too! The After club is open till 6 in the mornin so you go there when everywhere else has closed & then walk across the beach back to the apartments!!! If you don't fancy going out the clubs suprisingly dont keep you awake even though they're so near to you! The one thing that did my head in was the Greeks selling roses, hats & glow sticks along the strip every day & night! But you'll get that anywhere 'cause they got the right idea! They know us p**s 'eds will buy things from them! Enjoy your partyin' in Kavos!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemon Grove Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Cosmos Discounts) Cosmos - Date Not Specified Opinion submitted in Feb 2004 by : BRISTOL Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: Kavos is the best place in the world. It was my first holiday away without my parents and i took advantage. The hotel was aight but its all about the nightlife, me an my mate got drunk every night for a week, and lived on da greek kebab. I would reccomend drinkin a bottle of vodka before entering the bar street. There are loads of of peeps tryin to coax you into there bars, just tell them to stick it. The hotel was clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Lemon Grove is set in a perfect area. When you get back from Clubbing you cannot hear the music at all. Advice to give when going there is stay away from Foam parties as most of the people we got chatting to came back with ear infections! There is a great restaurant called The village Taverna which is half way up the strip on the right hand side. Its a traditional restaurant which is very good value for money and excellent waiting staff. If you book excursions buy them from the agents that are situated on the strip as the reps will charge an extra £10 euros! Defiantly take mosquito spray as you will get eaten alive out there! Another good restaurant to go to is Olympia as it is 5.50 euros for a 2 course dinner, thats all you need before you go out on a heavy drinking session. Another place for cheap local wine is Sizzlers which is at the beginning of the strip, it sells 1 litre of local wine for 8 euros, we spent most nights there before we went clubbing, the food at this place is not so great, unless you love chips. Enjoy yourself at Kavos it really is good fun, watch out for the locals though as they'll try and run you over!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Limelight Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: Oylmpic - August 2004 Opinion submitted in Sept 2004 by : Polly, Son, Vic Resort Rating: Poor Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: I have to say they have to invent a new word for HELL. This holiday was terrible our accomodation was in the middle of the nightclub you would think this was okay. But they had dogs and wolves roaming around all day in the complex im not joking . Lights were turned off around 6pm so you could not see where you were going when walking. We had to use our mobiles phones as torches. The accomodation was disgusting and unsafe, our room couldnt lock and we begged the rep to change our accomodation but he said our was the best accomodation in Kavos. The resort was dirty, smelly and unsafe. You be better off going on holiday to a seaside resort in England. It was only one strip of road with the same shops fake gucci, fake burberry, fake BRANDY . I cant believe anyone would pay to go there. I been to Malia and Falaraki but this place is worse than those two places put together. If you end up going there book day excursions, dont go out at night from limelight studios and whatever you do dont go near the wolf. If your a group of girls going on your own, please take some self defence classes there are some complete didiots our there that are too stupid and dumb to understand what NO means. It is a very much a single fun place. NOT a place for families and children. There is not much to do in the day except boat cruises, sunbathing or the water park, but as you tend to get up in the morning this is fine. The clubs don't open till 1 and close at 7, bars are supposed to shut at 1, but don't just turn the music off when the police drive past and turn it back on when they have gone. It is a very good holiday if you want a alcohol fueled week. The Lime Light Studios are very basic! They get cleaned every other day by a very nice maid. But you only get 1 towel each to last you the week, which are not very clean to start with. Sheets on the bed are not nice either, one had a rather large hole in it, and you will be eating out all week as the kitchen can hardly be called a kitchen. Apparantly we had one of the better apartments in Kavos so I dread to think what the others were like. Apart from the acomodation I would definetly recommend Kavos, it is well wkd. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Limelight Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: Olmplic Holidays - 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : Rhiannon Spears - Cardiff ( 21,23,21,18 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Our holiday was amazing, make sure when booking your holiday that you are right on the main strip, this is were everything is all the shops clubs/bars etc..... No taxis clubs and bars right on your door step - don't worry about the noise because you won't be going back to the apartment until everything closes that is how good everything is.. Altantis and Venue were the best clubs they stayed open the lastest most of the time until 7/8 in tthe morning , they also had the best dj's. Penne's Kitchen was a good place to eat it did take a while to come out but when it did it was always nice. The steak house right up the other end of the strip, up by McDonalds was amazing the meals were huge. I would have been very suprised if anyone finished it. The rooms were filthy and the shower etc unclean. We had two rooms, and one had a sheet missing and the other had no toilet roll. When we asked for an additional sheet, we were told you only get one as we had paid for 1 week. It took 3 days to get it across that there was 1 sheet missing to start with. We had no hot water for 3 days, and when we informed them, we were told to let the water run for 5 minutes. When we went back, we were told to let it run for 20 minutes. Eventually, they fixed it - just before we left. We had an air conditioning unit, but it had to be paid for seprately!?!? The room was cleaned once - mid week, and that was it. When we wre leaving, it was disheartening to see the 'clean sheets' left on the filthy window will outside, and then dumped on the floor before being put on the beds. Glad to have found out after sleeping in the beds! Despite changing to the Marilen for the swimming pool, they wanted us to pay 3 Euros a day to use the pool or poolside, or 2 Euros to use the deck chairs on the beach. When we decided to leave, they said we only had to buy something to eat or drink. The prinicple of paying to use the hotel pool is reprehensible, and fortunately the beach was 30 seconds away. On the beach, other sun loungers were 2 Euros, although there were a few free ones. Soem hotels will allow you to use their pool for free and advertise this. Kavos - I assume is an 18-30 paradise - given the noise into all hours of the night and binge drinking, numerous clubs, and cheap restaurants. Touts try and drag you in everywhere. Initially harmless, it eventually becomes irritating and off putting. The food in 'town' is cheap and woeful, you are better of eating at Licourgos or Falomera on teh beach who both do fantastic Greek dishes and internationl dishes, as well as having fantastically friendly staff - hello Ellie. In Corfu - go and see 'the old town', Paleokastritsa - absolutley gorgeous, and the famous blue lagoon, the mouse island and the white island, and so much more. If in Kavos, go and visit the secret Arkoudilas beach - it is a walk, but well worth it. There is a lot to do and see, so do not be put off by the 'drunken Brits abroad' brigade. Corfu is a beautiful island, with wonderful food, sights and people, and well worth it if you want a relaxing holiday with some peace and quiet, but avoid Kavos. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marina Beach Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: Kosmar June 2007 Opinion submitted in August 2007 by : Natalie - Durham - 18,18 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: kavos is the best place ever! As soon as we stepped foot into the door i nearly cried as i thought we'd walked into a homeless hostel as the decor and furniture was so dated. The bathroom didn't even have a shower hook for shower head so we would of been expected to hose ourselves down. Light fittings hanging on by a wire and a dirty pair of boxers in the wardrobe which showed this clearly had not been cleaned for us coming. With most Kosmar flights it early morning arrivals so it was approx 5AM not normally a prob coz u can just put head straight down, not in this place as sheets were rotten 2 so we sat up. So much for brochures telling u bout sea views more like a wall with over grown plants and thousands of wasps. Kosmar Office opened bout 9 so complained waited til bout 12 as no reps because tired off airport runs and then told to wait until 3 at apartments as a inspection wud take place. She was shocked and digusted when stepped foot into the dive, not only ours tho as our 2 friends were nxt door and theres was just as bad.U normally expect basic in greece but Marina Beach shocking!!!!! We were then told to wait, lucky at 7pm after a night of lost sleep she knocked moving us to Olympion Village, HOORAY. After reading some bad reviews about the Marina Beach Apts/Studios and the resort Kavos I was surprised how misleading they were. My wife, 28year old son and myself both nearer 50 than 45 enjoyed ourselves. The accommodation room 17, although on the third floor was very clean with the cleaner coming in each day, a very nice and friendly lady and even meet her family so had no problems there. We had a Studio, which consisted of a Toilet/shower room, a large kitchen area with refrigerator, two-ring plate and sink and plenty of tables and chairs. Two steps up was the first sleeping area with two single beds. There was a door to another bedroom again with two single beds. If you manage to get room 16, you will get a better view. Attached to the Accommodation is the Bar and Pool area, run by Nicos and helped by Mano. Beyond the bar area is a clean sandy beach and the sea. The pool area is kept clean with plenty of Sun beds to be had. It also has a Pool and Table Tennis table. There was no problem taking the sun beds onto the beach. The drinks and snacks were reasonable, but remember everyone is on GMTime (Greek Maybe Time) so do not be in a hurry. Some previous reviews mentioned the black seaweed on the beach. Yes there is a small amount right on the waters edge, but the sun is so hot it is dried to a crisp, its like walking on dried leaves. The sea itself is clean, with a sandy bottom with little or no stones, bare footed no problem. You can walk out for ages and still the water will only be up to your knees, and very warm. The seabed then tapers off into deeper water. As mentioned the accommodation is just off the main strip, so if you want an early night you can just say hear the throb of music. While we were there the Checkers Night Club was just starting back up but still never heard any noise. The first week was quite but unfortunate the second week Fifty-four Bristol Rugby lads moved in. Thirty into Marina Beach. It was a right laugh seeing some of the antics they were getting up to. Even when they were rowdy they were still respectful to us. Apart from the noise 5 o'clock a.m. Our biggest problem was mosquitoes; we took out with us the little pads, which fit on to a heater, an Ultra Violet Zapper. (The kind used in catering) and an Ultra sonic repeller. None of them worked. My wife even had a personal Ultra sonic repeller for walking out of a night. No good. Our best relief was spraying ourselves with a well-known spray also using one of them "spiral" mosquito killers while we were out of the room. It was heaven getting a good night's sleep. Kavos resort itself has a lot to offer, plenty of places to eat and drink some expensive and some very reasonable. The expensive being the Taverna's, but some offer a three course set menu for nine euros. Watch out for the price of drinks one-charged five euros for an alcohol pop. The P.R's. (touts) was a problem some were very nice about it and other were very abusive and rude. My best rules is, is there locals, reps or a few people drinking and eating, then go in. If not barter for a better deal, cheaper drinks or a free game of pool. There are places for everyone to have a good time to many to mention. For a lively time the top end of the strip is the place. Near the bottom of the strip it's a little more subdued. Some of the bars like the Stoned bar, SOS bar and Playtime are well worth a visit. Our favourite to end the night (morning) was Johns Cocktail Bar. Owned and run by a husband and wife team John and Georgina. The best bar in Kavos, the best service and the friendliest. It had all we needed, good drinks, good price and if you were Hungary you went over to John's fast food (different owner) order and pay for what you wanted go back over to the bar and it would be bought over to you. Many English ended up there it was a good source of information and we made lots of friends. Also it was right next to a very good Supermarket so you could buy anything you needed. So to conclude Kavos is not just for the young, we had a good time, good drink and good food. (No Spanish belly) and not a cloud in the sky. Parties with young children may struggle to keep the young ones entertained by day with just the Pool/beach maybe the operators should pick up on this and include more "Aunties". We hired a car for a week at good rates all in. Toured the island visited Corfu Town by day and night, Sidari, Allaries, The palace and up in the mountains all were similar to Kavos but on a quieter scale. For trips out look about for deals such as a boat trip Paxos/Antipaxos, or go to the next village and catch the ferry to the Greece Mainland for four euros. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marina Beach Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

Showers hot and room kept clean enough - tho the cleaner does interrupt your sleep! Pool + table tennis table were good tho. No fan, a small enough to be pointless balcony and a bit of a crappy beach bit, but all in all little to complain about. Nightlife is superb, if you can't have a quality time something is wrong with u. There's always somewhere to get in free if u don't fancy paying for a themed/special DJ night out. Everyone out there is just so friendly that the atmosphere in the bars + clubs is superb. Buy cheap beer from supermarkets +drink before going out We were self catering, but restaurants r very cheap (roughly 10 Euros) and make really good food, so haggle with the touts to get free wine + cocktails + garlic bread and eat out every night Drink headf*ckers, they get u very happy Touts r a bit annoying but they're not that difficult to avoid, just don't chat to them too much, unless ur getting a good deal Mates who did watersports- the rings + paragliding said they were wicked (15 E and 30E respectively). Boat trip to Blue lagoon + beach barbecue also well worth doing. The place does smell a bit, can get almost too hot, especially when ur trying to sleep, there r more blokes than girls, but for an 18-25 holiday u can't ask for much more. The apartment was basic but clean and tidy with no obvious flaws. We had a two bedroom apartment that was ok for space for four, basically, adults. The kitchen had everything you would need except maybe a microwave. But with the cost of the food so cheap we all ate out every day. The hotel served breakfast that was very reasonable at 3 euros. The breakfast included Orange Juice, toast, tea or coffee and a cooked item e.g full english breakfast. The dinner menu was three courses for eight euros (we didn't have the dinner as we went out to eat so I couldn't tell you the quality but if it was anything like the breakfast it would be good!) The hotel had a twenty four hour bar and reception ( you had to hand your keys in if you left for the night) prices reasonable, a pint was three euros and a vodka and coke three euros (this was a treble). Many deals such as two for one etc. Kavos it's self was not chosen for dad and mum but the daughter and friend as the entertainment was geared towards their age group. In fact dad and mum had little to do after eating so had a few early nights! Down the lane beside the hotel led to the beach. The beach was not very good with plenty of seaweed however it was pretty shallow quite a bit out. Two sunbeds and a parasol was six euros next to the Marubu cafe. This cafe was excellent for drinks, snacks, ice creams and toilets. Going out for something to eat was a bit of an effort through the PR's but we found one or two nice eating places such as Uncle Harry's, Penny's Kitchen, Chinese all you can eat buffet. Entertainment for the dad and mum consisted of Peter Kay, Lee Evans, Hypnotists, Latest Films and Karoake. The resort was a bit rough and probably required a coat of paint but for the young people they didn't mind as long as the music was loud and the bars opened to 7.00am! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Hotel and Chandris Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook- june/july 2006 Opinion submitted in August 2006 by : Kayleigh 19, rachel 19, emma 19, claire 19, kelly 22 - cumbria Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Well 3 weeks back from kavos and still missin it and wishin we were still there. Anyone looking for an absloute gr8 time on holiday kavos is the place. 2 weeks in kavos was def the hol we were looking for, with the gr8 nightlife, friendly locals and sun, sea and lotsa sand it was brill. 2 of us stayed in morfeas and 3 stayed in chandris and both hotels situated in good parts of kavos just close enough to the bars and clubs but far enough away not to hear the clubbing which goes on till 7am, morfeas hotel was gr8 and a really friendly hotel and will the staff will do anything to help you and the laundry service is really good along with the evening meals. Chandris was friendly aswell and was good but did find that there was a bit of a problem with the drains in the bathroom. The 2 main clubs are venue and future which are good but the bars are also good to. Recommned uncle harrys for food and gr8 service we ate there just bout every meal and found it good and the 10% discount helped. Also recomend steak house as we didnt try this till the last nite and really wished we tried it earlier as it was brill food. Beach is really close as the main strip of it is just behind the strip of hotels. Would def recommend that you should go on the bar crawl was the best nite owt although it kicks off early but it is a really good nite and a laugh you also see a good side to your reps.Kavos is no place for children and really anyone not up for a gr8 clubbing hol, there is only a water park that would interest kids and families so dont recomend this place to those not up 4 it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook/ Sunset - June 2006 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : Carrie- Plymouth 19yrs Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: We visited the morfeas hotel in june 2006. After an 11 hour flight delay, when we arrived the staff in the hotel were so friendly and welcoming, from the outside the hotel looked really well looked after and clean. As the Hotel is only a 3* the rooms are quite basic, however they are quite nice but simple, the rooms are cleaned every day so they are always clean and tidy. The ground which the hotel are set in are so nice, there is a pool which has plenty of sun loungers and a bar. The hotel is just slightly off of the main strip where all the bars and restaurants are, so its a bit quieter. But the bars are less than a 5 minute walk as they are only round the corner. The food in the restaunrant is fantastic, it is so nice, it was the best meals we had, and the staff who work in the bar and the restaurant are so friendly and you can have such a laugh with some of them. The only downside to the hotel was the rep who was very unwelcoming and rude. If you are thinking of visiting Kavos be prepared to get harassed by PR staff, who try and get you into a restaurant or bar. some are lovely but some don't know how to take no for an answer. i thought the best bars were The barn, Be free and there were a plenty others which we usually ended up in. I would visit Kavos again and there is doubt that i would stay in the Morfeas. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook June 06 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : Gail & Nicky - Milton Keynes (37, 26) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We had a great time, the room in the hotel was clean what more can you want. we meet so many great people. We arrived at reception around 12:30pm, we were directed to our room. When i walked in i burst out crying, i know you don't get all of your requests when you book at the travel agents, but our room was on the bottom floor with our balcony in a car park, with a car parked directly in front of it, the bedsheets were this rough brown itchy texture with stains on them and we had no kitchen facilities just a kettle and fridge. we managed to change apartments to a higher floor as i didn't like the thought of being on the bottom balcony as i've read up quite alot on greece and many people had said there balconys got broken into, i didn't fancy that, so anyway we had to sleep on on one single bed all holiday cause there was no point in pushing the singles together cause you fall down the gap, i told the rep we booked bed and breakfast so why did we have no kitchen as it said we would in the brochure, and she said there was only one block in the hotel where they did have a kitchen and that only people who are self catering get to stay there, how ridiculous.we made friends with some people over there who stayed in the c block where they have the kitchens, their rooms are so much nicer, bigger and better. Kavos is sh*t,the pr's drive you mad, they are so desperate for you to go in there bars, they grab u and won't leave u alone even if u say u dn't want 2 go in they stil follow u telling u wot offers they've got. trust me it will drive u mad, me and my bloke only went out a few nites of the holiday we would rather stay in and get drunk together it was boring goin out, the music would keep on goin on and off after 1 (everytime the police drive passed after 1 they have to turn it off.)The blue lagoon is beautiful but what ever u do dn't book with the reps, they're absolute rip off.our rep was useless my boyfriend injured himself on the pool and we had to do everything ourself she didn't know anything. there was no point in her being there. Everyone at the hotel were really nasty to us after my boyfriend hurt himself as it wasn't his fault but the hotels as they had a drain sticking up by the pool he cut his foot, the receptionist was VERY rude to my boyfriend and told him it was his fault and accused him of diving in the shallow end!my blokes just under sixfoot so i can't see how he'd dive in the shallow end, plus he'd hurt his head not his foot!duh! She was'nt very proffessional. She was a nice as pie at the start of the holiday a really nice lady, but as soon as that happened they made us feel VERY uncomfortable and we wanted to go home early.it was only in the last few days we felt we could sit outside the pool bar cause i thought stuff this its my holiday i don't care what they think. The weather was beautiful,me and my bloke had a good time, but only because we made it good, would never go bak there, its really smelly at night if u go on ur balcony. if ur going for 2 weeks i'd try and change it if i were u to another place or only to 1 week, lots of people we met said that 1 week was enough.we stayed for 2weeks but wanted to got home after a week. its boring. Oh yeah and theres a lovley old greek man that sells really lovely oilpaintings on a stall in the street they are gorgeous,i'm not usually in2stuff like that but trust me they're lovely i got 2. Hotel looked the best in the resort, and the staff there were really helpful, bar man Jason loves himself and has a tendancy to soak you with his gun when you go to the bar! so watch out! The rooms were pretty small and damp. Only had the basics fridge, 2 hobs, a kettle and toastie maker. We left our hobs on during the day to try to get rid of the damp air - our clothes always felt wet when we got up in the morning. The hotel will offer you the chance to go to their very own Greek night. The food was nice but the entertainment not so fascinating - but worth a look? The morfeas is only about a 5 minute walk from the main strip although the night life in Kavos (in may) was relly quiet but still a really good night out! Shane and I loved The Players Bar, would definately recommend you go there! Also 42nd and Fire Bar too! I got told to go to the sex shop while I was there....but devistated to find that it wasnt open when we were there!! PR's are really annoying!! But suppose they are only doing their job. The beach wasn't really up to much, probably due to the time of year but we still went in the sea in the glorious sun! Weather was gorgeous. We hired the quads out for the day for 30 euro's it was wicked - ventured up into the mountains for the day. There's also a good place there called the Beauty Spot, I got my nails done for 15 euros - Pan and her friend are really friendly! They also do hair braiding, hair extensions and henna tattoos, well worth a look in there! NEVER wonder the streets on a night alone! I did and got followed and teased from a bunch of greek lads on mopeds who wouldnt leave me alone trying to get me on their bikes! JUST RUN!! Opposite the Morfeas Appts, is a dog kennel with (i think) 2 dogs in and 2 puppies. We spent most of the holiday feeding and petting the puppies. The owner of this kennel is a nasty mean man - treats the pets horribly! I was told that he is trying to teach the dogs to be hunting dogs, so watch out for him throwing in a fluffy tame bunny for the dogs to chase and kill!! Not a nice sight! Not sure if I would recommend this resort or if I would go back to Kavos - although maybe for the Players Bar on the main strip. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook may 2006 Opinion submitted in May 2006 by : emma jones wrexham 24,25 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Morfeas hotel was brilliant. our room was lovely with a pool view. food at hotel was brilliant 3 courses for 8 euros. pool was very clean. bar staff jason, george, costas, michael where all really friendly. joy and akis on reception couldnt have been more helpful. kavos was quiet because it was the beginning of the season but there where still plenty of places open for drinks and food. the oven pub was my favourite for breakfast and the tex mex was nice for an evening meal. all in all this was probably one of the best holidays i have had and i would definatly go back. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

What can i say about the resort, well i thought it was fantastic there were absolutely hundreds of bars to choose from and with so many PR's enticing us in we got drunk practically every night. They usually give you a free shot with your drink and if it was happy hour you got two drinks for the price of one wich was great. Our favourite places to go were Tango bar which has a little platform where you can dance and the owners were lovely in there. We always ended the night by going to Rolling stones wich was such a good bar as it had loads of stages to dance on and even had a podium. They played really cheesy music in Rolling stones there which is what we all loved so i definitely recommend going there. The hotel was abosuletly great and the staff were so friendly especially Jason who worked behind the pool bar he was such a laugh and George who worked behind the hotel bar at nights he was so nice to talk too. We made friends with so many people and would spend a majority of our time in the bar before we went out to the main strip. Our rooms were basic but we soon grew to love them towards the end. They have air conditioning in the rooms and it cost us 40 euros for 2 weeks which we did not think was too bad. We had a big fridge in our rooms so we could really stock up with bottles of water and snacks. We had a great time. We recommend that you go to the quiz night and karaoke night in the hotel. On our last night we had such a great time doing the karaoke its great fun and we got to meet loads of people. Firstly we asked for self catering and they gave us bed and breakfast, a room with twin beds. i went with my boyfriend and even if you put the twin beds together it left a massive gap in the middle, so for two weeks we slept apart, my bed was proper dodgy it was falling apart. They only give you a fridge, no iron, no hairdryer nothing. You had to pay 3 euros per day for a fan, for two weeks it came to 42 euros i think. which i thought was a rip off cuz you could by a wicked brand new fan for that much money. you had to pay to use the laundry and iron. the hotel was cleaned every day except for sundays. you had to be out of your room before 2pm otherwise they will not clean the room, i felt sorry for the people who were on the bottom floor as they got woken up by the cleaning ladies. when they did clean it they will live the room wet and damp, and will leave your window and balcony door open, which i thought was unsafe we could get robbed so easily. which meant we had to wait and waste time for them to finish cleaning our room and go back and shut all the windows and doors before we left the hotel. The place will become humid and stink. and night time the rooms got sticky and if you open the door it will stink like hell. i literally vomited cause it stunk outside. the hotel looks good from outside but its not all good. The staff were really nice, watch out for Kostas he is so nice and funny, he looks like Ben stiller. The bar is 24hrs which is wicked but they are real mad about football. They did show all the latest movies. Hotel food was also ok. Bed and breakfast which we paid for was abosolutely rubbish they call it continental breakfast, it includes two toasts butter jam, tea/cofee and juice. they give you frozen croissant, but you can never really it peacefully during the summer period cuz the wasp will eat your food first constantly buzzing round your head, but thats everywhere not just the hotel. We went on the hotel internet, for 15 mins they charged us 3 euros and 50 cent which is around £2 pound summin, its ridiculous. i advice you not to use there service a phone call which they say is standard and cheap local rates come to a hundred euros. The pool is really nice, but i prefered to go to the far end of the beach, it was much cleaner. Another advice DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH YOUR REPS!! do everything yourself independantly its cheaper and fun, otherwise you will get mugged proper. excursions do it yourself theres loads of places you can go to book them. kavos had 1 or two nightclubs but it was cr*p, bars were ok but played the same tunes for two weeks in a row and was quite cheasy. They hardly played the latest tunes, London is way better. The prs outside the bars took the p1ss they kept dragging us by our clothes which i found offensive and rude, they didnt have any manners. I got way bored of the bars cuz they all played the same songs everyday almost as if they were one bar put together. and the bars start filling up at 10:30pm but music stops at 1am exactly cuz the local police drive up and down kavos untill everyone leaves. they dont have license to play music after 1am. even if it does fill up , its not so busy that its a pack out. no one dances, drinks are expensive 7euros for smirnoff ice(£6 pounds). verything is much more expensive than britain. i hated the holiday so so much i cried i wanted to come back the next day, so bored done everything, all the shops were the same, souvinier shops used the same bags to put the goods in. am asian i dont need a tan, but was so bored all i did was lie on the beach and turned in to burnt toast. even then the bees wont leave you alone, they sit on the food, on you everywhere, mosquitoes are crazy. trust me i can just go on and on and on. i would never ever ever ever go back to Corfu especially Kavos. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - july 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : helen and becca - bournemouth (18) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: what can i say, this was our first holiday away from parents etc. and it was fantastic, our rep amanda was really nice helped us out with any problems we had, and when all the reps get together like on the barcrawl they had us in stitches most of the night (probably cos we got so wrecked on all the free shots) the hotel was so clean and the pool was the best in all of kavos (cleanest too.) the bar staff and reception were all really lovely especially jason one of the barmen he is really funny and sweet. they do a drink called s*x with the devil that they only did at the morfeas and that was all i drank at the hotel. it was so yummy! the clubs didn't usually open until 1 ish but thats ok just get smashed at all the bars before hand i would suggest going to 42nd street it was 4 s*x on the beaches for 5 euros! for a first holiday we couldn't have asked for more the trips that the reps sell are quite cheap considering other prices around and there is so much to do during the day if you want to, or just stay by the pool, no-one really cares you do what you want to do when you want to do it. i would definately suggest staying at the morfeas it is such a laugh especially for a first holiday and we are going back in 2005 with more people. so kavos better watch out next year! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morfeas Hotel - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomas Cook Direct) Thomas Cook - June 2004 Opinion submitted in July 2004 by : Francis - Surrey 24,32 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Where do I start...Well it was our worst hoilday ever and I wouldn't go back to the Morfeas if I was paid. To start with we arrived really early in the morning and wanted some sleep but were woken by our rep to come to the welcome meeeting, how ridiculous. Then the beds were damp and left you suffering from aches and pains. One night the balcony above collapsed, luckily we weren't outside and the stopcock in the wardrobe leaked all over our clothes. The owner of the hotel and his sons had no consideration for residents and loved revving their mopeds up early hours of the morning and doing maintenance work. The food was nice but the Greek night was overpriced. Drinks were not included and the so called greek salad didn't even have feta cheese on it. They were trying to cut costs. They started off being friendly towards us but when we said we didn't want to join in the pool party they became very offish with us and more unhelpful and rude. They were a very money grabbing hotel and were obsessed with football. Breakfast was continental but unless you were good friends with the sons you sat and waited longer for breakfast while their frieds got served first regardless of when you arrived. On our checkout day we wanted to keep our room on as the coach wasn't coming to pick us up for 13.5 hours. They wanted 25 euros to keep it on till 8pm. Due to my medical condition we needed a room but did not have enough money and they were not going to help even after speaking to the rep. So we ended up hiring a room down the road for 20 euros for 12 hours. That was much better and nice accomodation. The pool at the Morfeas was clean but unless you are a young drunk pisshead you feel very awkward in that type of surrounding so we escaped to the lovely beach near by. Kavos is quite boring during the day and loud at night but if you don't want to drink don't bother going, it is more expensive that anywhere else in Greece hence we ran out of money. The Pr's really get on your nerves trying endlessly every night to get you to come in for a cocktail or 20. We are in the 20something age bracket but certainly did not enjoy ourselves we wanted to come home early. If you want relaing, friendly, Greek atmosphere forget it, in Kavos and the Morfeas they are constantly after your money! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mythos Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

My philosophy was that being May half-term the resort would not be fully into the swing of things. If you do intend taking children to Kavos please heed the warnings, choose your accomodation and dates carefully. Some sights are not appropriate for kids and it can be very noisy at night. Compared to other resorts, there is not much Greek about Kavos. Most bars are very keen to promote British food and drink and the facility to watch British TV. However, Likourgos and Falconera are two very good Greek taverna's right on the beach, and the Steak House serves excellent food. The boat trips are OK and the Water Park near Corfu town is well worth a visit.Book these independently and not through your tour rep despite their protestat |
