Having never been to Greece before had to confirm with travel agent several times that this was a family resort - which they did on numerous occasions and told us we will have a lovely time. Wrong. There is absolutely nothing for children to do in the complex itself or even the resort. Our room was on ground floor, had damp smell, shower curtain was full of mould and shower head was hanging off the wall held with one loose screw and kitchen facilities consisted of 2 electric rings above the fridge!! No toaster, no microwave, no oven. The cupboards for food was smelling foul so you could not store any food in them. Also you had all sorts walking in thinking they were in their own apartment. The nearest place to go to in the evening (apart from local restaurants) where you could sit with children without them being exposed to the 18-30 typical behaviour, was The Fountain Bar, but to get to this you had to walk the 10-15 min walk into Kavos itself which was extremely dangerous especially in the dark where you had to dodge the traffic and quad bikes then when you got to Kavos you had to dodge the PA's who constantly bombarded you with offers to come into their foam parties or sex/lapdancing clubs even in front of the children. Our rep told us not to use local bus service as it was very unreliable - wrong again - the buses ran to a timetable and were very reliable and cheap, we had no alternative but to use them just to get out of the place. So take plenty of money with you as you'll need it for travel costs and excursions with your children. No decent shops, all were tacky and you'll need to travel elsewhere to find some. Only good thing about the Acrodelon was the bar staff, who were extremely nice. During our stay there were only 4 families with young children at any one time staying here - so that says it all!! The rest were all young 18-30s. Used a local excursion operator to go on trips, and had enjoyable days out especially the boat trip to the caves and Paxos - rep's prices were too expensive and needed all the money we had to try and entertain the children. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: July 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : G A.- Scotland (41,41,40,38,13,12,10,8) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: After booking our holiday and reading the reviews posted here we arrived in Aspro Kavos uncertain of what we would experience, we left wondering what all the issues really were. Acrodelon Apartments are a good 15 mins walk from the centre of Kavos, a journey we took on numerous occasions day and night. The road is not well lit and is well used by motorcycles, cars and buses. Take care when you walk this route as there are several blind corners. The apartments are serviced by the maids daily (except Sundays), towels and bedding are changed every second day and whilst they are basic we found them to be kept clean and in reasonable condition. They are used by both families and groups of single 18-30's. This caused us a loss of sleep on several occasions, but a quiet word in their ears helped. One thing we did notice was the area never appears totally quiet, between birds, the dog somewhere over the back, the clubs, the gardener and the cockerels, there always appears to be some kind of noise but we did get used to it quickly. Make sure you pack mosquito repellent and be sure to use it, otherwise you will probably suffer. The pool is clean (and cold early in the day)and the bar (whilst not as cheap as some others) was convenient and served decent food. We ate several times at The Rose Tree which is around 5 mins walk from the Apartments. Dimitri and Vangelis looked after us very well, the food was excellent and well priced. They encourage families to use their restaurant, however they do not have someone "pushing" their services unlike others. There is a Pizza and Pasta Restaurant nearer the Acrodelon which has superb pizzas. The Drunken Squid, in Kavos itself, is a TexMex and Chinese which serves good food though is slightly dearer than some. We spent several nights sitting in the Fountain Bar which was good to relax, have a few games of pool and watch Kavos go by. We enjoyed our time at Acrodelon, not sure if it's ideal for those with younger kids, but ours enjoyed their holiday and the youngest is desperate to go back next year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in November 2006 by : Jon Grosvenor - Stockton-on-Tees (48, 48) Resort Rating: Poor Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: If you love wasps then go to this area (Kavos) in September time, although our son went in August and it was just as bad. Locals told us it is a year round problem...you've been warned ! Can't comment on other areas on the Island. The Acrodelon Appts were shabby, foisty & not particularly clean. A/C was available if required though. The staff were friendly and helpful, typical of Greek people. There was little to do in this resort during the day (notwithstanding swatting wasps !) Also the beach was dirty and a local told us not to go in the water because of the sewage....Hmmmm nice ! The only real positive, other than the lovely Greek people, was the food. We had truly excellent meals every night. Even the PA's were friendly and pleasant and not too pushy, especially the Greek lasses. We will never go to this area on Corfu again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: sept 2006 Opinion submitted in October 2006 by : d lillico 35 Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: just got back from kavos and wot can i say its full of wasps and mozis got bit to hell the appartments were we stayed wot can i say lousy did nt get cleaned prop the room was damp and it stunk as long as i live will never go back but if u do want to go stay at the kavos plaza its mint well worth staying there if u do go say hi to dina shes the owner tell her big darren and kyla says hi ( dj) she knows who we r --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: aug 2006 Opinion submitted in May 2007 by : butch, dean and garth-25,23,25 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: ive been reading the other reviews and am quite frankly shocked, this was one of my best ever hols! if u want a quiet peaceful hol....dont go to kavos!!!!! the staff there were brilliant, i cant comment on the beach cos we dint make it but all in all we had a great time! i reccommend the acrodelon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

the rooms are rubbish they stink and they are dirty!!! we asked to stay in a studio apartment overlooking the pool but nope! we stayed in a little aparetment overlooking a pitch of grass! during the day it was nice because they isnt alot of people who stay there so everybody tries to get along with each other! whoich is nice! the bar prices at the acrodelon are pathetic! $4.10 for a bottle of smirnoff!!!! and if you walk a little down the rocky roads its $2 rip off! they is nothing for kids what so ever unless you actually spend money to book trips and the ones we specifically like was theo's boat trip! the waterpark is nothing to write home about! it took us 4 days to get our air con working!, the smell of the drains is revolting!!! so dont eat between mornin at early afternoon!!! the weather is really hot but when it rains! it rains bad!!! the only thing i liked about the whole of the holiday was the people staying at the acrodelon because even if some of them were young they still really nice! - laura - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: September 2005 Opinion submitted in June 2006 by : kerry-kane-rosie 27 6 17 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: These artments are great if you like a relaxing holiday, we arrived at 10.30pm and were welcomed by Harris he showed us quickly to our rooms whener we dropped off our cases and joined few other people at the 24hr bar, these people were not from these aparts but found them to be the best for a late night drink. Kavos itself was approx 20min walk away along a poorly lit dirt track so taxi's are recommended although not expensive. The theme night based at the apartments was fantastic, everyone got involved and had a real good laugh. We would recommend this holiday to anyone lloking for both quiet or lively holiday Can't wait to go back in Sept 06 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in Nov 2005 by : Mick & Louise Hensley - Norwich 52, 33, 12, 7 Resort Rating: Below Average Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: We missed the first night at the Acrodelon due to delays at the airport and what a blessing that was.It was 4am when we arrived and as we entered our apartment the stench of burning plastic hit us not to mention the foul odour from the bathroom drains.Being far to tired to do anything at the time we decided to try and get a few hours sleep, only to be woken up every 20 mins by people arriving. The next day we decided to have a lazy morning around the pool but were constantly being splashed by a large group of over energetic teenagers. We had a roam around the area in the afternoon and discovered the seaweed pile which was supposed to be the beach.Trying to get a decent nights sleep to catch up that night was impossible. The music from the 24hr bar was at nightclub level and we really didn't appreciate the cat kiling (sorry Karaoke)at 3am.Having spent £10 on my mobile phoning the 24hr help line because the phones at the apartment didn't work I was told we couldn't be moved that day because it was a Sunday so we then had to endure the Greek Night which went on until 2am. Our Rep bless him had bourne the brunt of our complaining and had decided to come a check things out and was nearly deafend.Even the performers had to ask for the music to be turned down. The only saving grace for the Aspro Kavos area was a lovely Pizza and Pasta place a few mins walk from the apartments. The food was wonderful and friendly service couldn't be beaten.Luckily we were moved the next day to Cava Bianco and our holiday finally began. It cost us 120 euros but was well worth the money. If you have chldren under 16,or if you actually want to get some sleep on holiday DO NOT go to the Acrodelon Apartments. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in Oct 2005 by : David & Katy (both 25) Resort Rating: Average Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: We booked our holiday this year in January. The first time we've
booked in advance and the first time we've been with a Thomson Holidays
We arrived at the Acrodelon, were sent to our room, and my first response was to burst out crying. Forget the balcony, we had a table and two chairs on the walkway to other apartments. There was one tiny window, broken air con, and the room itself could only be described as a bed-sit. The hob/sink area was at the end of the beds, opposite the small, dark bathroom and access to the wardrobe was by leaning over the 'kitchen' area. We promptly phoned the 24-hr help line, requested another hotel and quite happily paid the extra £100 to be moved to Cavo Bianco in near-by St.Peters, 20 minutes walk from Kavos. We had a wonderful two weeks at Cavo Bianco. I'm sure the Acodelon do have nice rooms, for bigger parties, and had
we booked last minute for less money we would have stayed in that room,
however for only £100 extra we had a bigger and better place at Cavo
Bianco. The room we had at Acodelon was not what is shown in the
Skytours brochure, or on the website, and because of this I doubt we
would travel with a Thomson Holidays
If you do go to Kavos, St. Peters or Aspro Kavos, Theo's BBQ boat trip is a MUST DO activity. Brilliant day!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: Sky Tours-July 2005 Opinion submitted in Sept 2005 by : Laura - Wakefield (18,19,19,19) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Ok so it didnt start off very well, first of all the cases took forever to unload then the coach broke down on the way to the apartments (which would have been ok but we had no rep on the coach!) Once we got to the apartments we were shattered as it had taken over 3 hours to get from the airport, when we got to our apartments they were gorgeous, we were geeted by nikos (the barman) and loads of people who were having a drink at the bar-all really friendly!! This was reassuring as many of the apartments in the centre of kavos didnt look nice and i couldnt imagine how people would get to sleep!! We stayed at the Acrodelon apartments which are in Aspro Kavos. This was was roughly a 10 minute walk from the centre of Kavos, they were beautiful with daily maid service who were really friendly. The bar staff were great!! Nikos, Immy & Harris were always friendly. The bar was 24 hours which was great as you could chill out after going clubbin or to the bars before heading to bed! Some nights we didnt go to bed at all. Everyone all guests and staff were great!! Our apartment had 3 balconies and although quite small was big enough for the four of us to sleep in which is all you need really!! These apartments are just next door to the corfu sea gardens apartments which have a huge pool if you fancy a change of scenery as well as other apartments and hotels in the centre. The beach is about 2 minutes away from the Acrodelon and offers watersports however this beach is very small and not that nice. You can walk on here to get to the main beach of kavos which is about 10 minutes away. The best places to eat are the drunken squid (mexican), the steak house, Desperados, and the layby (2 mins from Acrodelon)The best bars we enjoyed were 42nd street, buzz bar(drinks 1 euro), rockys and snobs! futures nightclub was good for music and has free entry unless there are special guest DJs appearing. If you dont like getting hassled to go in2 bars Kavos is definatley not for you, although we had fun coming up with excuses as to why we couldnt go in.lol! Definatley go to the waterpark if you have not been before, it has great slides and a lazy river (which is good to help with a hangover.) We were also able to do all the freestyle activities if we wanted which was good, we did a bar crawl, and themed night as well as a boat trip to a secluded beach on the mainland and champagne diving in the blue lagoon. This was our first girlie holiday and we all had the time of our lives!! we will never forget it!! I would reccommend these apartments to anyone, and Kavos!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays
Opinion submitted in July 2005 by : Andrea & Steff 36 & 16 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: This was our third time at Acrodelon and I love the place, situated about twenty minutes walk out of Kavos. Its small, budget and friendly, the pool area is clean and the bar staff (Harris, Tmios & Niko) are wonderful). We stayed in a studio which is basic but has all we needed. Its a 20 minute walk out of Kavos (6 Euro in a taxi) and its a lovely walk. Aspro Kavos is very quiet and peaceful. The locals are friendly, look out for the old lady with the donkey at 10.00am every morning. Kavos is mad, it doesnt get started until 11.00pm and if your young and looking to let your hair down then your in the right place. Cheap drink, every bar is party night and the atmosphere is buzzing! Its cheap to eat out, most places do any starter, main and desert for 9 Euros and we ate like queens! Swordfish is wonderful, and cheese saganaki is to die for! I adore this place and will be booking to go next year! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

Opinion submitted in Feb 2005 by : Emma and michaela 19,19 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Went to kavos july 2004 and it was are first holiday minus parents and family. I can honestly say it was one, if not the best holiday ever. the resort itself, bars restaurants etc are a 10-15 min walk from the apartments. however there are a few along the way. i must say that a taxi back from the resort to the apartments is ideal as it can be very dark down the small roads......!We were there when greece beat portugal in euro 2004 and the atmosphere was electric. all the locals were in the streets dancing and drinving cars with the greek flags!!!EXCELLENT. the resort is mainly for young ones 18-25 yrs old, a very young atmosphere, but we loved it. the apartments were very clean but the room we stayed in was v.small and basic and we didnt pay extra for a balcony and we got a terrace which we had to share with about 5 different rooms?!i suggest paying that little bit extra as the girls we met had a great big bacony!no air conditioning was awful but there are fans for rent,v.cheap aswell. we only paid for one night and had it for the rest off the week. all the staff are friendly and the bar never seemed to be closed, which isnt a bad thing when you want a night cap at 6am.The residents were all young and is not really for the older generation.if any one is into there R&B music go to SNOBS bar......so solid crew were playing there!!!!Big shout out to Emma the rep she was great!!!!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOUR YOUNG,LIKE THE CLUBS AND BARS AND UP FOR A LAUGH!!!x --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acrodelon Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Thomson Holidays

All in all id say kavos is a young persons place to go altho there
were familys there who seemed to like the action, this is the ibiza of

Opinion submitted in May 2004 by : Andrea Jane - Leeds - 35 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Second time in Kavos and in the Acrodelon apartments and I still love it. Its basic, cheap and cheerful and far enough away from Kavos to escape the nightclubs/bars when you have had enough. I cannot fault the surroundings of these apartments, yes the apartments are small and basic, but the staff are great and the pool area immaculately clean, I made some great friends there! What gets on my nerves though is people moaning, these people moan about everything, they moaned about the pool been too cold, the chips been cold, the beach been full of seaweed, the beer being too cold, if they could moan, they would and the week I went it was full off moaners! these apartments are great and I will be going back next year and the year after because of the warmth and friendliness off the staff. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: 2wentys - June 2007 Opinion submitted in July 2007 by : Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: My friend and I booked this holiday purely as a beach, summer holiday - we only went with 2wentys because we got a really cheap deal - we were dreading the reps and trips they try and make you do!! Overall though, fantastic holiday! The hotel was brilliant. As we met people throughout the resort, many had heard of the hotel and had spent a day by the pool and said it was one of the best! Great bar, far enough away from the strip for a quiet night sleep, yards from the sea and beach, nice clean pool, decking throughout with nice new sunbeds! Music wasn't too loud by the pool, great atmosphere at night for drinks at sunset. Rooms were fine. Cooker with 2 rings, new kettle, plates, cutlery and all that. Ok, shower doesn't have a curtain but it's not a big deal, there's a purpose installed drain and when you leave it an hour it's dried up already anyway. Only recommendation, take your own bath towel and loo roll. Resort was good. I'd say you have to be younger to enjoy it - didn't see many older people or young children there, if any! It's a small place but a great strip with bars, restaurants and clubs you could visit a different one every hour every night! Some great deals on cocktails and shots, they drag you into bars and stop you on the street all the time [which got really annoying] but make the most of it and you'll get 2 cocktails and two shots for 3 euros!! Food was cheap too! Max's Diner, despite the name served great Greek food and traditional English food - 2 courses for 7euros. Forum Bar next to Agnes Hotel did the BEST day time food and the BEST cocktails at night! Eat there for a few days and they give you free cocktail vouchers!! The WOSRT part of the holiday was the reps! They hadn't a clue what they were doing, they're just out there to get wrecked, they just try and slam you with trips which cost way too much. My friend and I didn't do any trips with them, and when we spoke to people who had, they all said how they thought they'd been ripped off! Don't get me wrong, we're not boring, but they really are a waste of time! We crashed the pool party bar crawl on the first night, got free cocktails since they didn't ask if we were on it then just followed our mates along the strip and got the one free shot for free that everyone else paid 40euros for!! The BEST holiday, just a shame about the tour company we went with- we didn't let that bother us though and had a wicked time!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: 2wentys - Aug 2005 Opinion submitted in Oct 2005 by : Angela - Chester (23) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: I stayed at the Agnes studios in Aug 2005 and I have to say on arrival I was mortified with the appartment standard for what we paid (maybe it's cause i'm old)! Very basic, small, tiny kitchenette and a little corner shower which you have to hold whilst trying to clean yourself at the same time!!! My mate was dead positive about it though and we just agreed we wouldn't be spending much time in there. Make sure you take extra towels because they only supply you with hand towels and 1 LOO ROLL ALL WEEK!!! Pool was o.k, good tunes all day & Spiros the bar man was nice too (Tom Cruise lookalike ladies)whit woo!! You do have to pay 2 Euros a day for a sunbed, and the lad who collected the money was really rude. The beach was stinkin so don't expect white sands. Go to Penny's bar for good grub, maccies do massive portions over there aswell & there's an all you can eat chinky which was nice. The night life is the best bit, and once you've been out a couple of nights, you don't really worry about your hotel room cause your too wrecked. We loved Snobs and the music in 42nd Street (drinks watered down in there though) 3 Voddie & red bulls for 5 Euros in Snobs and make sure you try a headfucker - i was leathered but then I am a shandy pants!! We also met 30 odd lads from Edinburgh who happened to be stayin in our appartments - they were a great laugh (mental) and when we went on the booze cruise they were funny. (Hi disco Stu and Tam if your readin this). Appartments are open plan so you get to know everyone specially in the evenin when your gettin ready to go out, everyone has their tunes on and it's a good atmosphere. All's I can say is don't expect too much from your appartment, make the most of it and go out about 11pm when it just get goin. Oh and 1 thing....dont skinny dip in the Agnes pool at night or use the sunbeds as rafts cause theres a drunken security guard who WILL smack you on the head with his torch.. - you have been warned ha ha. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: 2wentys - July/August 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Jenny - Manchester (17, 18, 20, 20) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: We had an awesome holiday in Kavos. If you are young, like partying, and are looking for a good time its a great place to go. The Agnes appartments are basic but were clean and are all you need as a base for your time in Kavos. Its a cheap place to stay and paying more to stay elsewhere will not necessarily mean it will be better quality. The pool is a decent size and the beach may be narrow but its got sun, sea and sand and is a great place to recover from the previous nights antics. The people hasseling you to buy cd's do get a tad annoying after a while though. The 2wentys reps were very helpful and up for a laugh. the trips we went on with 2wentys were good (the bar crawl, boat trip, and school disco) but if you want to go on trips out of Kavos (eg. waterpark) its way cheaper to book it at shops along the main strip rather than with 2wentys. The main strip in Kavos is one road with all the bars, clubs, and restaurants you could want. The restaurants range from an all you can eat chinese to McDonald's. Our favourite place by far to eat was Penny's Kitchen (opposite 42nd Street)- 3 course meal for 7euros 95-what more could you ask for?? There are some great bars playin great music including rocky's for R'n'B and some good old cheese an even some old school. We also liked pit stop for vodka jelly and memphis coz we made friends with the pr's. Our favourite clubs were future and atlantis. They are a great place to end the night with some dancin in futures and the more chilled out atmosphere of atlantis. Make sure you get some cheeky vimtos down you wherever you go on your night out- they are well nice. Try not to get too stressed out with the pr's. if you stop an chat you can actually have quite a laugh with them. No matter which bars or clubs we went in at night we always had a great time and lots of laughs. All in all we had an amazin holiday and so many laughs along the way. Get yourself to Kavos and you are sure to have a great time too. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: 2wentys - July 2005 Opinion submitted in July 2005 by : Louise Black - Hampshire (All 18) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: Seven of us girls have just returned from the Agnes this morning. All agreed we had such a good laugh. You have to be up for a mad week and you have to be able to get over your hangovers by the evening to start it all up again. The 2wentys reps were brilliant, really good fun. We did three of the trips that the reps were offering - the bar crawl, the boat trip (with champange diving) and the School disco thingy night. To be honest, I think we found it more fun running around the bars on our own group than with the whole of the people on the 2wentys holiday. But the bar crawl was a great icebreaker and a real recommendation. The boat trip was really good fun too, and the champange diving in the blue lagoon was the best bit. The agnes hotel itself was basic, but it was so cheap we weren't that fussed really. Hardly spend any time in your room anyway. And that that you do spend in it, you are drunk off your face and couldn't care less. The one thing that got us was the towels, take your own towels, the only ones they give you are tiny ones and are barely large enough to dry your hair with. Also, take loo roll, or be prepared to buy it out there. They supply you with one and thats it. The pool was great and the bar served food which was really useful. I took £230 with me, and on the last day I was living on nothing. Definately take more than what I did if you dont want to have to worry about constantly budgeting your money. Mind you, a few Headf**kers down the line for only about 5 euros with 9 spirits in them, and your set for the evening. Find the champange for 2 euros also. Dont worry about taking ketchup with you, or mayo, they have it all out there. A few reviews said u would need it, which is silly. Take washing up liquid (this is all speaking about the Agnes btw) you will need it for your plates which the hotel supply. I went thinking the worst because of reviews i had read and i was so impressed with the whole place. All of us 7 were really happy with it. It was our first holiday away and we felt really safe out there. Make friends with some guys and ur in. :) Dont expect to sleep much, expect to get horrendously drunk and just have the best time. PS. Watch out for some of the bars Empire and the Buzz esp and possibly others, great music and tables for dancing but they water down their alcohol with illegal industrial alcohol and it really makes you ill. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (First Choice Discounts) First Choice - July 2004 Opinion submitted in Sept 2004 by : Joanne Sharpe - Bolton (17, 17) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Hi this is joanne and i went on holiday in July wiv my best mate michelle and ill jus start by saying oh my god if u want a brilliant holiday go to kavos, it was our 1st holiay alone and i think it will be the best. I dont know wot people are on about "the smell" cum on dont be stupid get a few headf*ckers down ya and ull be fine... We didnt go on any of the holiday rep trips cos we jus wanted to chill out round the pool in the daytime and we cudnt be bothered gettin up early to tell u the truth but if i went agen (which i wanna) we'd defo go to the waterpark. during the day all u need to do is chill by the pool theres everything u need, beer, water, sun, sum fit lads (thrush the sexy twentys rep) We did go out pretty late about 11 since it took us pretty much all the time gettin ready and choosin our outfits, but it doesnt really get lively till then anyway... we always went in pit stop, well not by choice we sorta got dragged in which happens alot, but it was worth it, its only a lil bar that u dont even really notice its down an alley on the way to the main strip but i do recommend goin in they do the best cocktails to get u abit tipsy ready for the main bars and clubs...if u go in there try the special and tooty fruity they are gorgeous... Then wed go down the main strip and the only complaint i have of KAVOS is there are like a thousand pr ppl tryin drag u in every bar there u cant walk 2 secs without gettin "cum on darlin have a drink in here its the best bar for gettin cocktails...." yeah yeah we'll choose were we wanna go ok, there was a few nice lookin prs tho so that wasnt really a problem ~heehee~ But if ur goin to KAVOS u have to go in ROLLING STONE its the best bar ever they actually have a rolling stone outside... and after the bar shut go in the backroom and theres like a club which plays rock tunes and if u wanna dance like crazy idiots thats the place to be ;).... Thats were we spent all of our time nearly wen we went in they didnt even have to ask wot drinks we wanted cos we got them so often "s*x on the beach" the cocktail that is a must have on holiday. The other bars that we went to are SNOBS which played gud RnB tunes but it was always packed cos "so solid crew" like lived their. We only really went there cos the rep outside jus made us p*ss ourselves he had the best catchphrase ever (maybe cos we was p*issed half of the time) but it was "Any bar with n ob in its names gotta be good" There were a few other good bars as well..."42nd street" which is good if u wanna stay in there cos u get like 4 cocktails for 1, "ROCKYS" its good cos its jus on the main strip and easy to jus walk in and get totally hammered b4 u go on. There are sum really good clubs as well theres sumthin for every1 the best that we liked was called VENUE it was an Rnb club and there were sum brill tunes on there it was jus a ded good laid back club were u jus went and danced all nite...so if u wanna jus dance and get eyed up by aload of lads then thats the place to be ;) (good times) Our other favourite club was called LIMELIGHT (this was mainly cos we met, i think it was about 15 scottish lads there, they sorta followed us home and we was like stuck to them all holiday) but limelight is good on the 2nd nite that ur there the 2wentys reps organise a bar crawl and u end up there, its always packed then and its brilliant plus alot of the 2wentys reps are really fit so theyll be there 2 ;) Theres also a few others....S*X were thers a foam party, ive heard the foam gets like 8ft high as well but ive never actually experienced it as me and my mate met these other two lads and we went in and got pulled out by them b4 any of the foamy stuff came...so theres always nxt time for that.... And after uve done all that and bin all those places uve gotta go to this bar on the beack its called "AFTER" its open 24hrs and its really realxed and chilled out, its were every1 goes to chill out after a tyrin nite out on the p*ss....so overall my holiday was totally and utterly cr*p...no am only kiddin it was absolutely brilliant i miss it so much and we really miss those 15 scottish lads they were so funny wiv their lil comments such as "do ya wanna play my leg" sry if ur not laffin but u probz had to be there and i bet u feel like u were, wiv me chattin on so much. sry but a think every1 was sick of me tellin them so a thought ad tell al ppl interested in goin to kavos and im jus tryin to tell u thru all the stupid stories and stuff that u shd jus stop readin this and go and book a flight now becos im tellin u now itll be the best holiday u ever go in... so thanx for listenin to me chat on and go on...go to the travel agents now... and i hope u have as good as a time as we did and i look 4ward to readin all ur stupid stuff and probably sayin wtf are u goin on about u loser HAVE FUN :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agnes Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: 2wentys June 2004 Opinion submitted in June 2004 by : all 17-19 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: just back from kavos a month ago, and want to go back altough just a few things before you run off and book!!!we all had a great time but would recommend that you go in june/july time as it was a bit on the quiet side in may, weather was loverly. When you get there you offered to go on the oranised trips by the twentys crew(which were great by the way!!!)I does work out a bit cheaoper than if you were doing them yourselves. The water park was ok, but not the best. This is a hardcore young persons resort. However, there are nice restaurants and bars. The resort itself is a bit of a dump, but thats not the reason we went!!! Best bars - Rockys, Rolling Stone and buzz (hello to ellen and Kirsty) as for the alefki - spot on, all rooms with air con (30 euro per week but def worth it). Always loads of sun beds (June) and food round pool was tip top - chicken baguette mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I would not say Kavos disapoints in fact the reviews make it sound worse then it is. My only problem was that the clubs were not really up to much and we all found it more fun to go to the bars etc like Rolling Stone which was really good. We are all aged between 22 / 25 and found that we were getting on to be the oldest there so will not recomend for people around this age, loads of people just out of school. The ratio of men to women is pretty bad as well with about 8 men to 1 woman so be warned you have to put in a lot of ground work if you get what I mean. Overall Kavos is a pretty sound place no trouble ie fights etc and loads of places for food and drink. The toilets are the worst in Europe but hey ho. Overall im sure young lads girls here will have an excellent time even though Tenerife was better !! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alefki Apartments and Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (Olympic Direct) Olympic august 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : fi, amy (19, 19) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: best holiday ever! hello to our lovely rep Reccardo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alefki Apartments and Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (Kosmar Discounts) Kosmar - August 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : 28-30 x6 males Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: Of the 6 that went this time 4 of us have been to Kavos many times before, and I only have a couple of comments to make. The state of the beach seems to have deteriated. Kavos is definately for no one over the age of 25. We felt so old!! Kavos has had its moment and its now dying out. It used to be a very busy, great atmosphere and relaxing. Its now nowhere near as busy as it used to be, the atmosphere was on edge, as though it was always about to kick off, and you just cant get away from it all when you need a break, but then if you are young , you wont want a break!! As for the Alefki apartments, in comparison to all the other places we have stayed, one of the best/cleanest I have stayed at in Kavos, and a great swimming pool/area. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angela Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: Club 18-30s - June 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Louise - 23, Laura - 22, Kerry - 22, Helen - 24, Michelle - 22 Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: All I can say is that we had an AMAZING holiday in Kavos, time of my life! Don't listen to any of the scare stories - I mean ok, Kavos is a bit of a shanty town, and when we first turned up on the coach I was a bit concerned because it looked a bit small and grotty, but there was none of the bad stuff going on out there that some people have made out. And it wasn't as grotty as it first appears, I think that was just our first impression cos we were tired from the flying and we just wanted to go to bed. Club 18-30s were brilliant - I'd been to Magaluf with them a few years before, and I've got to admit at that time they were a bit of a rip off and too in your face, but they have really cleaned up their act and are a lot more easy going now - still up for a laugh and will take you to the best places, but will leave you alone if you wanted them to. We did all the trips though, it was really the best way to meet lots of like-minded people, and it was good value, not half as expensive as what Club 18-30s used to be, and lots of the places they put on free bars, so we made more than our monies worth back! The reps were lovely, always checking if you're ok, everything was ok with your room, etc. We are definately going Club 18-30s next year! Our accommodation was fine too - very basic, but livable, and for all the people that are worried about the lack of shower curtains and things in Greek hotels, please don't worry, because if I can put up with having to hold the shower head up whilst having a shower, than anyone can! At the end of the day it's only for a short amount of time. The rooms were quite hot, but you can hire fans out from one of the other hotels which was what we did, so it was fine. And if you don't like being hot then you shouldn't be going to Greece anyway! We had a great time in the bars in Kavos - the best ones were definately Buzz, Crash and Empire, we ended up in them most nights. I was very disappointed with Atlantis, just because everyone had said about how good it was before we went, but I didn't think much of it all, but that's just my point of view, others may think different. The only real club is Furtures, which wasn't too bad, but to be honest the bars are much better, and Futures only ever seemed to play r'n'b, which isn't my sort of music really. The atmosphere was great wherever you go though, everyone is so happy, and we never saw any fights or anything. The only downside to Kavos is the fact that when the police patrol the strip, which they do frequently, the bars have to turn their music off and wait for them go, which is quite annoying when you're getting into the swing of things! The cafes and restaurants are good for eating, they all do the usual burgers, breakfasts, etc, and Greek food if you fancy it! There's also a McDonald's and KFC there too if you want to feel really at home! All in all it was a great holiday, mainly because we went with the attitude that we were going to have a great time, come what may, and we didn't listen to too many of the horror stories. I would say that if you're majorly into clubbing then go to Ibiza or Magaluf because they do have the bigger clubs, but if you're after just drinking and having a laugh with your mates, and dancing in bars, then this is the place for you! Don't listen to the horror stories otherwise you won't have a good time, the horror stories are probably written by people that were expecting a 5 star Sandals resort or something, but everyone knows that's not what Kavos is about. Word to the ladies over 18, like us, though: Every man you meet is under 20, so you will have to cradle snatch for the week! He he! But it's all good fun! To those of you that are going next year, have a great time and make sure you go Buzz Bar. And if you're going Club 18-30s, go Comedy Night, it was by far the best night there! And for those people going Magaluf next year, look out for us cos that's where we're heading! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angela Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: club 18 - 30 - July / August 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : katie jones - 20 anna davies hale - 20 both from wales!!!! But honestly I would not recommend it for families or the older generation. Everyone I meet staying at the Angela Studios at were allocated on arrival with 'twenties' so if you go allocated on arrival you are more than likely to get these apartments. Angela Studios are very basic but clean we were supplied no bath towels, no toilet paper and our sheets were not changed all week, although they were turned over-minging! There is no aircon but we found out you are able to hire fans from the supermarket next to McDonalds for 10 euros plus 10 euro deposit so is well worth doing it. The apartments are in an ideal location just a few drunken steps away from the 'strip'. There is no pool, our rep told us we could use the pool at Limelights (just across the road) but when we got there was told by the staff it costs 3euros(and you get a free soft drink)-great! We ended up at the beach but beware you may come (xcuse the pun)across things what look like jelly fish but are infact used c_ondoms-yuk!!! Also a word of advise ladies keep you handbags with you at all times because my friend was unfortunate enough to have hers stolen whilst she put it down for a split second, and everyone keep your apartments locked even when in the room I heard a story that someone's room was broken into whilst they were in the shower!!! But with Corfu having the lowest crime rate in Europe you cant blame the locals it is I am sorry to say the tourists. All the PRs will try and get you in the bars and it does get on your nerves by the end of the week but once you have a tan they tend to leave you alone. The Barn is a wicked place to go and DJ Lewis is a real sweetie, the music is excellent and the drinks are cheap. Kavos is truly a party place and I did have a laugh and with cocktails priced at 4 for 6 euros how can you not?? Have fun and be safe people.x.x.x. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angela Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: Club 18 -30 - Date Not Specified Opinion submitted in Apr 2004 by : Tracey & Gillian (18) Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: We would recommend Kavos. Had to stay one night cos nothing we could do. Our rep Glen was great next day he worked hard to move us in the end he got Alex (Mr fix it of Kavos)to help and he got us into Mejanis apartments a bit further out of the centre they were very nice Dennis was a star he came for us in his van and took us up there we settled in then got a bomb shell that we were to move again on Friday . Alex came again and took us to a few places but the best one has to be Sweet Dreams we got a choice of apartments and chose the ones over looking the pool. Joined onto it was a jacuzzi with seats in it so you could stay in the water and have a drink brill just past the pool and you were on the beach, could not ask for a better view. Nicos and Gregory were brill (not forgetting mamma) Asterix and Obolix father and son (dogs) were a lot of fun too, we would walk along the beach about 2 mins and we were on a great strip for families lots of good eateries and pubs .If u go to thomas bar say hello from us and ask him for a shot pure fire water, 2 and you would be on the floor and you could go to Famous pub and meet Maria. All the small places cater for the kids will not let them buy a drink Scott got all the non alco cocktails he could drink ,if you like your movies you can watch them before they are out in America and buy them, very good quality at the end we had a brill hol and would go back to Sweet Dreams but book direct a lot cheaper and they get a better deal too well done Nicos lovely jubbly ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anthony Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Golden Sun Discounts) Golden Sun - August 2004 Opinion submitted in Apr 2005 by : Emily and Laura (18,18) Resort Rating: Below Average Accommodation Rating: Average My/Our Holiday Review: We read comments on here about Kavos before we went and to be honest it sounded horiffic. But it was a cheap allocation on arrival in Corfu an when we ended up in kavos we were pleased cuz we knew it would be lively but also a bit worried because of what we read! But most of the comments are true, the place stinks in the day and at night ur too drunk to notice the smell. There are used condoms all over the place an the beach looked like it was covered in sewage. And dont even get me started on the men on the beach tryin to sell u copied cds! Also, dont ever get up before noon, u see wot a state the place is from the night before, all the cleaners washin sick an dirt into the street from the bars. Altho, not that it matters, people are bein sick all day. However, the apartments altho not luxury, were basic and the owner gave us some water melon at the end of the week which we thought was a nice touch! All in all, if ur into that sort of holiday, ul settle in quickly like we did but ul still be dead pleased to get home into ur own bed! The night life is really good, an everyone is really friendly so its really easy to make friends! PRs are damn annoying tho! But there are some fit ones so that was a bonus. It was a very memorable holiday an we feel that now weve done kavos we can do anything! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Antoinette Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Golden Sun Discounts) Golden Sun - August/September 2004 Opinion submitted in Feb 2005 by : Kelly & Dan - Blackpool ( 16, 17 ) Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Below Average My/Our Holiday Opinion: WEATHER: The weather was good for the first week in september it only rained once on our 2nd to last day. RESORT: The beach wasnt the best, sea werent the clearest and had loads of sea weed (mingin). Cheap sunbeds and loads of activities and sports to do. The smell is sick especially in the morning, can smell vomit and the waste being pumped out of the ground in the middle of KFC knocks ya sick. Theres loads of nice places to eat includin your english faves Mc Donalds, KFC and pizza hut. We loved our Tradditional English Brecks at Penny's Cafe was dead cheap aswell. My boyfriend said he had 'the best stake ever' at a restaurant opposite the apartments (next door to the soccer club), he even made me go back again. Alot of people suggested desperados, so wen went...didnt like it at all, pretty expensive too. Nightlife would be great with a group of mates, a little tip though if you want c*ndoms buy them during the day as they doubled in price at night. The PR's are sooo annoyin, if you dont wanna be bothered and they ask you if your looking for a restaurant tell them you hav already eaten and when your asked if you 'want to come in for a drink' tell them your looking for somewhere to eat or you havnt got any money on you, never failed us that dint. Loads of bars show recent or unrealeased films which is good when your bored during the day. ACCOMODATION: The accomodation was basic but we werent expectin anythin flash. The Apartments didnt have a pool or a recpetion. One big problem was 'number twos' wouldnt flush and there was no-one to tell so we had to eventually power wash it down with the shower head. They also didnt give you any toilet roll after the first one. You have to hold the shower head in your hand when washing which is pretty annoyin and the bathroom gets soaked cause there is no shower curtain. The self catering didnt seem great, didnt try and use it though. Noticed the toaster was broken and the fridge was leaking all over the floor when we arrived cause the cleaner had unplugged it. Our room was cleaned twice in a week. We had a room which had a balcony with a good view, which for us was good to sit and drink on before you went out. The worst thing about these apartments though was definately the noise. You didnt have to play your own music when getting ready cause the music from the bars was that loud. The bars start competing who can play the loudest music. This aint a problem until you want to go to sleep and the bars dont shut till 4 and then you have all the drunken tourists screamin and shoutin. Nothing could ever beat the loud mouth woman next door who every single night would keep us up till at least 7am without fail. One night she also started screaming and swearin at us banging on our door telling us to let her in cause she had locked herself in her room. We were so exhausting by the end of the holiday that both of us managed to sleep through the take off of the plane. We were forced to leave our room 12 hours before we were due to be picked up by the coach. We were literllay on the street for 12 hours because the apartments didnt have a lounge for us to sit in. TRIPS: We went on two great trips (water park and scuba diving). Cost us bout 120 Euros for both of us on both trips. The water park was great fun, loads to do, cheap decent food and a good cheap photo. We almost missed this trip as we got up late and missed the bus cause of the noise of the neighbours. It was arranged for a first choice coach to take us there. The golden sun rep on the way back had an attitude problem, werent very friendly. The scuba divin was a great trip. We went via a speed boat to a pebble beach with clear seas. We only went for a 15 minute dive after a little training, but it was great saw loads of fish. I wouldnt reccomend Kavos to families, or couples who dont want a clubbing holiday. Think it would be great for groups wanting a clubbing holiday who dont mind basic accomodation with noise. If you are going there - take 2 towels as you only get given one tiny little handtowel each! Also take loo roll...as they give you half for the whole week and get given no more! In one of our rooms there was a socket hanging out of the wall. The cleaners were in every other day though. It was very hot when we went, and no air conditioning so got very little sleep. We went on few trips...paxos...definately worth going on as get to see dolphins close up. Also went on blue lagoon trip, with bbq (similar to booze cruizes you pay loads for with the reps), also good, and aqualand. Don't book the trips with the reps....they rip you off big time!!!! We spent a lot of time on the beach and did some water sports which was good. There's too much to say and would have a clue where to start!!! Just got back last night and feel incredibily sad to be at home and back at work! Too many crazy and wicked people to ever forget. ACCOMMODATION:- The Aphrodite are quality with a quality owner!! Jo, the English lady who runs the place with her fella the Greek DJ are mint!! She went out to rep 20 years ago, met this greek guy and never came home! The soundest lady you will come across and we loved her to pieces. They also own Snobs, one of the biggest bars in Kavos (across from Buzz Bar) and all the PRs that work for Snobs are always round the Aphrodite pool in the day, they are like one massive family. Chal, Curtis, Wez and Tom you are crazy (hope u aint broke no more bones!!!) You're all wicked. The rooms are standard and basic, we wernt overly impressed. They change your sheets only once if you're there for 2 weeks, so look after them otherwise you'll be sleeping on just the matress. And like the whole of Kavos, you don't get given no toilet paper so you need to buy your own. Also, if you find that anything's broke or damaged in your room when you get there tell the Reps straight away otherwise you do end up paying for it even if you aint done it. The pool area is mint, anyone who is still to go this year- it is proper wicked. The Reps are cool, Kara is hilarious when she's p1ssed and a great gal to chat to (fink she is gonna miss us!), John is a sweety. Kenny, the boss is ace and we saw the real side of him in the second week! Get munching round the pool as well- mahoooosive tuna baguette is to die for. BARS:- Cant really say a lot as we didnt stroll very far!! We were right by Buzz, Snobs and 42nd St and these are the biggest bars on the strip. It really is hard to go to as many bars as you can because you really do get picked up by the PRs and they carry you in!! Fire Bar was wicked and we spent a lot of the first week in there. Such such a nice bunch of staff (big up to the stoke gals on the front!). Crash bar further up the strip is very popular with garage and drum and base, and we got into that music more that we thought we would!! 8 Surrey lads that arrived on our 2nd week were into that music big time and get Matty Small on that mike and he's away!! MC Massive!! He may even be staying there over the summer. (You 8 surrey boys were fantastic and we know its too quiet for you now, now we've gone!! Luvya, Keeeeeennooooo! Miss ya'll ;) CLUBS:- We only went to Venue and Future, Trinity at Future was wicked on our first Wednesday- with RatPac (or however they're spelt!) and Judge Jules is on this week. We had wicked nights in both clubs throughout the two weeks so both of em are worth lots of visits! Limelight was good on the Skool Disco, but wouldnt visit it on any other night- its a bit small. But for a quality end to a night, 'After' Bar, which is on the beach was proper amazing. They build a fire on the sand and circle loads of sunbeds around it and wack on a BBQ until the sun comes up. We were there for quite a few nights! I've got some mint picture on my phone of the sunrise... beauuuuuuutiful. Well, said to much probably already!! Don't listen to any bad about Kavos or the Aphrodite, coz if you're up for a wicked time and don't care to just let go then- just book up. We may go again in Sept if we can afford the dosh. (By the way, if you're like us and drink a lot and spend a lot you wouldn't completely at ease with taking any less than £900-£1000. We ran out 4 days before and we all took £800 each. The Aspro brochure states that although this is a young & lively resort, the Aprodite is 'just out of earshot' of local nightlife. This is a blatant lie - do not go here if you want to get any sleep. The owner of a nearby restaurant told us that he has to have a hearing test each year because of working next to the club nearest the complex. This club was only about 100 yards from our room. Our apartment was broken into on our second night there. There was no forced entry. We discovered that labelled keys for every apartment were kept in the unmanned reception area - just help yourself! The reps couldn't give a toss unless you were interested in getting p1ssed all week. If you had a wrinkle then you might as well not exist. Even though the property was not an exclusive Escapades property until June, the only excursions on offer were bar crawls & other variations on a p1ss-up. On the transfer back to the airport, the rep didn't even do a name check - just asked if anyone knew if anyone was missing! Plus points (none of which have anything to do with the Aphrodite or Aspro) - the Village Taverna is a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The staff & food are great & it also has proper Greek music instead of the clubbing s**t that your ears are assaulted with everywhere else. A special mention also to Cristos the doughnut man who patrols the beach every day with his basket. You might as well buy them as he won't take no for an answer! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aphrodite Complex - Kavos Operator and Date: (Airtours Direct) Airtours thomas cook june 2005 Opinion submitted in June 2005 by : (18,,20,20,28) irish (northern) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: We all went to kavos on 13th June 2005 for a week it was klass!! The weather was brilliant it wasnt too warm but not too cold. there was a gorgeous breeze so you could have sat out in the sun all day long without having to go inside, and we got a brilliant colur cause we could sit out for so long!!! The nightlife is unbelievable, but in these particular apartments you can hear all the music from all the bars they all try 2 out do each other!!! so its soooooo loud but if your drunk enough and have been on the go all day you will have no problem sleeping like me. Unfortunately our apartments got broken in2, there are safety deposit boxes in the reception but there is no security guard or receptionist to watch them so we didnt bother using them. In each apartment there is a shutter to cover the patio doors please use it it will make your apartment more secure. the water park is fantastic with piles to do!!!!! we went on rubber dingys in the beach! Hilarious!!! Dont go on them if you have a hangover you'll boke i swear!! they pull u behind a speed boat its mad. I have read several reports about the apartments bein disgustin and all, i dont know but we had 2 apartments for each couple and they were both beautiful! We loved fire bar (there PR is so funny) We loved Legends, buzz and snobs was brill! Every1 is so nice. N.B This was the highlight of our holiday. U cant flush toilet roll down the toilet or the toilet explodes, but everywhere has got a bin beside the toilet. when i got home i was still throwin toilet roll beside the toilet! u get so used to it. It is sooooo cheap and the food is lovely. one last thing if you hire a quad or moped be careful they are very dangerous drivers out there and i heard of a few people being killed on them so be careful. The choice of restaurants and types of food is very good and not expensive either. A few words of advice though, keep anything of value in the safety deposit boxes especially if you are staying in the ground floor apartments as my friends had theirs broken into one night and two others the week after. The rooms are very basic, the showers flood the bathroom so the floor is always wet, the cleaner comes in once every three days and you only get one toilet roll for two weeks so you will need to buy your own while you are there. They only change the sheets once in two weeks, and no bathroom towels are provided. As there is no air conditioning you can hire a large fan for 10 euros a week which you will need as it remains hot all night long. The Legends Bar is one of the best in Kavos and for a change of nightclub try S*X nightclub for their foam party nights, it's great fun. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armenos Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: club 18-30 - august 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : 21,22 Resort Rating: Poor Accommodation Rating: Poor My/Our Holiday Review: went on holiday for 2 weeks, paid 180 euros to come home after 9 days! has to be the worst holiday i have ever been on, maid comes every 2nd day but all she does is empty the bin and give the toilet floor a quick mop. we were only given one bath towel and one hand towel for the whole week when asked the rep if they got changed we were told we could buy towels on strip for 6euros but i never went on holiday to buy towels, we also had to buy our own toilet paper, you have to keep the lid on the toilet down and the toilet door closed because when you flush the toilet it smells like a sewer plant! we also bought bleach to clean the bathroom as it was boggin! the bed sheets were not changed the whole week and we had swarms of red ants crawling on them and ended up sleeping on the floor on lilos! the floor in the apartment was filthy and looked as though it had not been brushed or mopped for months! the patio door did not close properly unless you held the top corner in when you closed it, otherwise you could push it open from the outside, being on the ground floor was not very safe as you could climb over our balcony. when we booked the holiday we knew it was at the top of a big hill but we did not know we were all that was at the top of the hill no other apartments, shops or anything, there is no lights at night time and it was horrible walking up late at night we were followed home by greek boys and asked where we were goin, cars stop and slow down and watch you we did not feel safe at all! there is also no reception so once you are up there you are on your own! we were moved rooms after 1 week because we did not feel safe on the ground floor only to find lizards and bugs in our new room! there are also no safety deposit boxes in the room you have to keep your valuables in a foreign exchange shop down at the bottom of the hill! the rooms are boiling, you can hire a fan from the pool bar for 10euros a week, the pool was the only nice thing about the place it was really clean and the man at the bar who runs the apartments was really nice but does not speak much english. in general the whole of kavos is really dirty and smells, even if your out for dinner everywhere smells like dirty bins, there is no pavements i dont know how many times we were nearly run over as everyone hires scooters, quads and mopeds the roads are really dangerous. the nightlife is cr*p the pubs are not aloud to play music after 12 so the police drive past every 15 mins and the music goes off in every pub for about 20 mins this goes on all night! there are only 2 places which are enclosed so they can play music all night one is empty the other plays RnB there is no dance music, you will never bump in to a family so there is no entertainment or family places, i have never seen so many pubs at night full of people watching videos and E4 because the night life was so cr*p! most people we spoke to said the place was cr*p and they would never go back and we met a lot of people who were also trying to get flights home early, and its definetly not a place for couples and there is nothing to do during the day! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armenos Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Golden Sun Discounts) Golden Sun - 9th aug Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : karen and claire - liverpool Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: before we went to kavos we looked at some of the reviews on here some good and some bad, we went to kavos with an open mind not hoping for the best. We were told that golden sun were the worst reps ever but they were not that bad, they came every 2 days i would say but that was good enough 4 us, if you needed any help Elios who owns the pool bar was always happy to help. Elios was always around and we had a good laugh with him and his family, his son alex who is 4 and his nephew mario were always there too and liked to splash everyone in the pool, on a wednesday night Elios organises a pool bbq which i would say go it was 20 euro but you get a nice meal with free wine, he plays lots of games so you can get free cocktails! we were already to go and see dave pearce at 1am in 1 of the clubs when elios persuaded us to play some pool games we ended up putting our bikinis on and went in the pool, we all got free cocktails for joining in they were lethal too, i drank half of mine and decided to get dressed and fix my make up cos if id have left it till i finished the whole cocktail i would have gone out with a face like lilly savage!!! its great go an av a ball we did!!!! make your own judgement --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armenos Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Golden Sun Discounts) Golden Sun - July 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : Shelley and Iain - Scotland (18,21) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: I stayed at the armenos apartments from July 16-31st and I found them very good. The apartments are situated on the top a steep hill which is brill if you want a sleep at night. The accomodation is basic but clean although do be warned about the fan - when you arrive there is no notice about it but the maid will charge you 25 euro for it (she says 30 but you can get her down). The maid does clean the room everyday but she can be rude to you - be warned. If you are on a night flight it's best to keep your room on for 15 euro and not share with someone else because she goes wild about it (all she wants is money). The pool is brilliant and the bar serves some brilliant snacks - during the day you really don't need to walk down the hill. The guys that run the bar are really nice although there is more going on with them than meets the eye - when we were there one of them ended up in hospital due to a fight and they also fought on the apartment grounds. Just be warned that there can be a bit of tension around the bar between the family. The owners son Alex is adorable although he can be evil and slap you. Golden sun are ok as far as a company go - Ray the rep is pretty nice although dosen't do much but no complaints about him. Their excursions are pretty good - the Corfu town and the aquapark are ace as is the greek night however the pub crawl isn't worth the money. The only annoying bit is the bus - the drivers are AWFUL and really do scare the shit out of you and the stop off in St George is really annoying as well when you just wanna be home. Kavos as a resort is brill! Theres so much to do 42nd street offer 4 drinks for 5 euro and Rockys bar do offers as well which are stronger. For a really strong drink try S0S at the bottom of the strip - the drinks are lethal. I recommend going to the face bar to see the hypnotist - its a good night out and a welcome change. Karaoke at SOS and papagalo is also good. Another thing Kavos is very dangerous do watch out for the cars as you can't hear them when the music is on. You will have a fantastic time though --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armenos Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Golden Sun Discounts) Golden Sun June 14th 2004 Opinion submitted in July 2004 by : Chris Evans 17,17,43,45 Resort Rating: Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: The Armenos apartments are a good choice. There is a steep hill out of the resort, enough distance if you wish to chill. Deb and I took our son and his mate CJ & Josh, The pool side bar is run by Ilios and Soc and they are really great lads, honest and helpful and crap at pool so you can beat thenm for drinks. The apartments are basic with a cockrel next door that screams back at you. The bar is open all night if you are up for it, the rooms are cleaned by a maid who works like a trojan and the pool is the cleanest I have ever been into in any greek resort. Kavos itself is great for the youth of today but beware of the touts, they can be irritating and pushy. Another word of warning if you hire a jeep or a bike, the police are tasked with paying for the olympic games, I got stopped, fined and had no knowledge why, I did not pay the fine as I did not know where to go or how. Mosquitos are a pig, if you end up at the doctors beware, standard charge is 125 euros and most insurance has an excess of the first 70. The right hand side of the beach has a sewer outlet but the rest is ok with nightclubs spilling onto the sand. Drinks are cheap and the food is ok. Kavos is a little UK so if you want any Greek culture get a quad and go to St Georges, about 15km away, or garden beach 6km. The reps were abysmal, absolute waste of time, go to independant tours if you want to have a boat trip, avoid BBQs etc, they are naff. My lad met so solid crew and MC DJ Neat and sonique played. The Golden Sun reps are a complete waste of time - never show up and when they do they are only interested in selling you a trip. The apartment though was excellent if a little basic, clean and kept that way all week by the maid who works her socks off all day. Do remember to take loads of anti mosquito stuff though as they will feed on you all night if you haven't covered yourself in spray and use a plug in repellant. The pool and bar are run by Ilios, top fella who will always help you out if he can - including taking you to his own doctor who is a damn sight cheaper than the one recommended by Golden Sun. His barman Souk is a top gut as well - but a bit of a shark on the free pool table. Kavos itself is a complete hole and the PR's for the bars will fo your head in within about half an hour of arriving - cr*p drinks/high prices. There are a couple where you can get a more chilled out pint for only a couple of euros - Fountain Bar, SOS and Johns Bar at the far (quieter)end of the strip - away from the clubs etc but not really suited to 18-30 types but for slightly older people (like me unfortunately) they are spot on. Beach - don't bother. Golden Sun beach BBQ - don't bother - 20 quid for a bit of chicken, bread, spoonful of salad and the local wine that is virtually drinkable. If you are going to the Armenos, good choice and you don't notice the hill after a good night out. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Athina Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (Olympic Direct) Olympic - July 2004 Opinion submitted in July 2004 by : Kristina Daniells (21,21) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: After reading some of the reports on this page I honestly thought what am I doing going to Kavos? However, after all the horror stories, my friend and I both had a brilliant time. Ok, so the place is very lively, that's what you go there for. I think it's irresponsible of tour operators to sell Kavos to families/older guests. The apartments were brilliant, Greece is always basic, but it was clean, the beds were comfy and there was enough room for the two of us. The owners are fantastic, a lovely family, very friendly and helpful and the food and drink was good and reasonably priced. The pool was one of the cleanest I have ever seen abroad and the weather fantastic. All the meals we had in the evenings were delicious and again reasonably priced. Try Majestics and T.J.'s, where the food and service were fantastic. The nightlife is brilliant, but I can understand why families would find it a nightmare. Drinks are cheap, but be careful of PR's dragging you away into bars, which can be quite frightening. The Olympic reps were very friendly and helpful too. Two very important bits of advice, 1. mosquitoes are a nightmare, buy a plug and 2. If your hotel is not in the centre of Kavos ALWAYS get a taxi and carry a torch. The main road into Kavos has no pavement and little street lighting and the first night we were there a man was killed on this road. Taxis from Athina Apartments are only 6 euros each way and well worth it. George will even order it for you. Kavos is a fantastic place to go with friends and would highly reccommend it to anyone who wants to go for a laugh and the cheap drinks. Don't go there if you want a peaceful, family holiday, if this is what you're looking for go elsewhere on the island. I have stayed in both Kassiopi and Sidari for 2 weeks each, beautiful resorts with wonderful restaruants and beaches. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Athinoulla Apartments - Kavos Operator and Date: (Olympic Direct) Olympic - aug 2006 Opinion submitted in September 2006 by : rachael - suffolk (20,23) Resort Rating: Very Good Accommodation Rating: Excellent My/Our Holiday Review: After lookin everywhere for reveiws about these apartments i thought they were going to be rubbish. But they are very nice. The cooking facelities in the room are very basic but the beds are comfy, clean and the bathroom is big with a shower and toilet. the cleaners came in about every 3 days and made an okay job. We arrived at 2:30 in the morning wondering what we had let ourselves in for. It was dark and the rep soon did a runner when he handed us the key. The room is best described as grubby. The bathroom stunk and we had to flush the toilet properly using the bowl convieniently left under the sink. But we were tired and went to bed. Around 6-7 O'clock we were given a wake up call from the residents(2 females) 2 doors away who had just come home after their night out arguing about their nocturnal activities in more detail than we needed. Put in earplugs) When we got up the room didn't look much better. Very basic. Supposed to be self catering, we had a frying pan and a colander. Kettle, no bottle opener and a selection of crockery that we didn't use. Our friends were next door and they had the same complaints. We never felt clean in the rooms. Linen changed once in the week and we had to ask for clean towels. We didn't complain to the Rep about the accommodation because we liked the location. The best bit of the beach in Kavos, very gentle sloping beach, brilliant for kids. Very quiet area, and there wasn't many people around all week. The Rep was very nice and didn't pressurise us into trips. Best places to go - Yannis restaurant, House of Eden restaurant, Seduces cocktail bar. Artemis taverna on the beach was brilliant. Owned by Greek husband/English wife (Telis and Julie) the locals eat here. Very friendly and cheap. The Cavo Bianco complex on the otherside of ours looked nice and we used their pool. We had everything we needed. The family who owned the Beach Front Studios were very nice! The nightlife was absolutely buzzing!!! I recommend everyone going here to try the headf*ckers form JCs. They are potent - 2 of them and your anybodies lol! Its best to start the night off in the pitstop coz the cocktails were 4 for 5euros and you got 4 shots with that too. Then make your way up to JCs for a few headf*ckers then 2 Rockys for a few more cocktails. The BUZZ was good too but it was cheaper to buy your drinks at the fast food place across the road, they let you take them in. The 2 best night clubs are the Venue for Rnb and Future for old school dance, but they dont open till 1am. The London bar was ace too, good music!! The S*x foam party was amazing but DO NOT get a stamp on your head coz mine didnt come off for 3days. I was so embarrassed walking round wiv s*x on my head but i had a laugh!! TRINITY was amazing, we saw groove rider, Dj pied piper and MC skibidee! It was well worth the 20euros we paid to get in. The bar crawl we went on with Libra was top too. But i didnt last till past 1am coz it started at 7.30pm. i was in bed for 1 and was sick everywhere! lol! Normally, i wouldnt get in till 9am ish The Libra rep was ok, we read that they were never there but he was always at the bar when he was supposed 2be. Firstly; dont go to Kavos if your scared of wasps! Its swarming with them, dont know wether it was because of the time of year, apparently its the grape season and attracts them! The beach is the worse for the wasps so dont expect to relax if you dont like em cos they dont leave you alone, mind you i didnt get stung in the two weeks we were there so they must be friendly wasps! The beach was ok one day we went and swam etc but the next day or so we went badck and all rocks and seaweed had been washed up so we couldnt go in the sea so i was going delerious with the heat! I recommend the boat trips, went 2 a lovely beach with clear water and to the blue lagoon was good & only 25 euros. I wouldnt go 2 greece in september again as it was freezing at night and we only had thin sheets at blue sea so if u go in september dont expect it 2 be hot at night like in july cos it aint so take your wooly jarmies and slippers! And all the clubs are closing, supermarkets dnt get any more food in and bars run out of drinks and our hotel bar ran out of salad etc but weren't getting more as it was end of season. A few thunderstorms happend also but it gets you out the hot sun so its ok! i just got pissed on a rainy day! The blue sea is clean, staff very friendly the pool was nice but towards the end of our hol they stopped cleaning it maybe cos there was hardly any 1 left at the hotel i dnt know but it was full of insects then! The nightlife was good, again quite quiet as everyone was going but that was good as i was with my boyfriend were as if you were with friends you might be dissapointed. Our Rep at Blue sea was only there for the first few days then dissapeared so we never had a rep! You can watch anythin you want at pool bar like little britain, freinds etc or a film. Corfu airport aint 2 bad either. The blue sea is located in a good place, a bit noisy at night till about 4 though. The Village Taverna is nice for eating and the drunken squid chinease, the steak house was lovely and the tex mex yum, but there are loaddds of places loads of brekfast places too-the SOS bar does amazing cheese ham n bacon toasties wich i will miss and everywhere do fry ups for about 3 euros. The first night we went out i was sick everywhere and im never sick of drinking- APPARENTLY the bars put methalated spirits in the drinks so thjat explains y i was so ill so be careful- there is no warning its just buy 1 get 1 free plus 5 shots everywhere and i couldnt turn it down but ended up being ill so stook 2 bottles after that. Apparently the bars that use this stuff in your drinks are Sexy bastard bar, tangos, buzz bar. We liked the twins pub nice and quiet good music, and endwistles, 42nd street was good and the foam party at SEx club was amazing, theres loads of bars anyway so its good. Safe boxes, fans for hire (will definately need one!) lots of Mosquitos about would recommend a lot of repellant etc. There are many good restuarants and hundreds of bars & clubs all offering cheap cocktails shots etc. Blue sea is at the end of the main strip only 5 mins walk from the 'real' nightlife, but if your thinking of having any quiet nights look further away! Nice sandy beach only 5 mins walk away and lots of water sports etc also available. Holiday rep 'Glen' very entertaining! the bar crawl and pool foam party are a must!! Overall very nice apartments, ideal for people wanting a very lively holiday, not for families or couples looking for a quiet holiday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue Sea Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (Olympic Direct) Olympic - July 2005 Opinion submitted in Aug 2005 by : Neil - Stockport (21,21,22) Resort Rating: Below Average Accommodation Rating: Good My/Our Holiday Review: You will have a great time in Kavos, if you drink! Me and my two mates arrived at around nine in the morning and we felt like we had been here two days already by about midday. The resort is tiny and doesnt offer much in entertainment during the day. We were just hanging around and waiting until night time so we could go out, for something to do. We ended up just hanging around the pool nearly everyday and it got quite boring towards the end of the holiday. The beach was awful we hardly went on it and neither did anyone else, it was deserted almost derelict.Worst beach i have been to.Also the resort has a horrible smell to it! Obviously Kavos biggest asset is its nightlife and you can see why.A huge strip with bars and clubs galore.Cant fault Kavos at nite it was superb too many clubs and bars to mention but all as good as each other.Make sure you get a HeadFu**er, a drink with 9 different shots in! The appartments were pretty good.Great location,on the main strip but far enough out of the way.Quite spacious inside. They had internet access, quiz night saftey boxes and all that. The owners though do seem to try and get every euro out of you they can when you are there. All in all a great holiday, decent accom and great nightlife, just try and get through the boredom during the day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue Sea Studios - Kavos Operator and Date: (Olympic Direct) Olympic - August 2004 Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : Daniella & Sean - Nottingham 18 & 19 Resort Rating: Excellent Accommodation Rating: Very Good My/Our Holiday Review: Blue Sea Studios was nice as it was not in the middle of the strip so it was not as loud as most places. It has a good size pool, bar and pool table it also has internet access. i would only recommend these apartments for young adults. Kavos is not a place for the lazy types! it is loud and lively. Overall it was a amazing holiday because we covered most of the excursions there, which by the way you should book your self through an agent and not through the travel rep as this will more then likly cost twice the amount. I would recommend the Britannia cruise which takes you to snorkal in the Blue Lagoon and you can even dive off the boat if you want to. this cruise also provides a bbq. I would also recommend the Ionoion cruise this takes you to the Greek Mainlands where you are free to shop or eat and also you can swim in the waters again. If you like extreme things there is plenty to do such as paragliding, bungee jumping, jet sking, and lots of water sports. We also enjoyed scuba diving and swimming with Daisy the octupus with a qualified instructor called Costos. Kavos is just one huge long strip of bars and club and resturants the clubs are open untill 6 or 7am so don't expect much sleep! Two main places to eat are Eves Resturant & Bucchas which are both cheap, yummy and conviently next door to each other. if you go on the beach which is nice and sandy buy a SeXi doughnut from the doughnut man they are scrumptious! REPS ARE USELES TOP 5 BARS: 1: SOS Bar 2: Roadblock 3: Buzz Bar 4: Memphis 5: Crash bar - girls get free bottle of champagne! shops - lots of cheap designer gear and gift shops so take lots of spending money!! We deciced to go for the all inclusive on this holiday and what a big waste of money. They do not cater well for children at meal times (unless your child will be happy to eat chips the whole holiday). The repetitive menu on offer every lunch and evening meal was not appetising for adults either. There were always problems with the soft drinks at the pool bar and evening bar due to be serviced/running out/served warm etc. The beer was so weak that you could drink it all day and night and still have no effect. The entertainment that is provided is also very repetitive and boring. The rooms are ok, however there are very dangerous staircases in the family rooms. In the 2 weeks we were there we only had our towels changed 3 times and that was only because we complained, otherwise it would have only been twice. Linen change only twice in 2 weeks. If it wasn't for the Flamingo Bar/Ko Ko Fresh Resturant and the Chicken & Steak Resturant outside the complex our holiday would have been a disaster. Our advice would be to book with caution an |
